Courtney's suspicions . . .
Courtney looks at a pregnancy test kit,
. . . are confirmed, quite conclusively
which clearly indicates, according to the instructions, that she is pregnant.   She looks horrified,
She hides the test under a book
but hides it when there is a knock at the back door and Ricky comes in.
Seeing that Courtney does not seem to be interested . . .
He relates, “Some kids stacked up chairs up to the ceiling, and when Miss Morris came in, they all collapsed, and she went mental!”   Courtney remains silent, so he asks if she is all right.
. . . Ricky asks what is wrong
She says that she has a lot of work to do, and is very stressed, so he leaves her.   As he goes, she almost tells him, but then changes her mind.
No, it still has not changed
She looks once more at the test, which still shows the same result.
Ed does not know what to do . . .
In the shop flat, Ed is still very anxious,
. . . and peers out of the window
and peers out of the window.
"I hope you haven't told your father"
Down in the street, Gwyneth accosts Iolo, expressing her hope that he has not spoken to his Dad about the plumbing.
"You got what you wanted"
“Are you still threatening me?” he demands, “You got what you wanted – Dad’s not doing plumbing work now.   I told you I won’t mention it.”
"Things are going my way!"
Gwyneth smiles smugly.
An unwelcome visitor for Courtney
Courtney tries to do some work, but then Ed turns up and asks, “Have you ever wanted to tell someone something, but haven’t been able to, for fear of the consequences?”
"I'm not going to tell anyone"
Courtney reiterates that she is not going to tell anyone what she saw – or did not see.
"The thing is – it wasn't an accident!"
“The thing is – it wasn’t an accident – she tripped me deliberately!” Ed confesses, “And that wasn’t the first time she’s hurt me, it’s been going on for a while   I’ve tried to persuade myself that everything’s all right – but it’s not!”
"I'm not the person you should be telling"
Courtney is not sure that she is the person to whom he should be telling all this, but he continues, “You’re the only one who will believe me – you saw it happen!
"My life is a nightmare"
My life is a nightmare from the moment I get up in the morning – I have to do exactly what she wants, or she punishes me.   It’s what I deserve for the things I’ve done!”
She hears that Ed is a self-confessed murderer
What Ed tells her next makes Courtney very scared;  “I killed Dewi – and attacked Gwyneth.   Dewi was an accident – I went over to frighten him, but it all went wrong before I realised!   I’m not a bad person, Courtney, honest!   I’m well and truly stuck now, and I don’t know what to do!”
"It's about time you left!"
Courtney is by now anxious for him to leave,
He trudges from Courtney's door . . .
and as he walks wearily from the door,
. . . under the beady eye of Sioned
Sioned notices as she is about to go into the Antur.
"Playing rugby just before the wedding?"
Dani is amazed when she sees the state of Tyler’s eye, and incredulous that he would play rugby just before the wedding.
She casts her beautician's eye over the problem
On closer examination, she predicts, “With some concealer and foundation, no-one will know – I’ll use some Dani magic!”
Ed is immediately ordered home
Sioned approaches Ed, snarling, “I want a word with you – home!”
"It's tradition, isn't it?"
In number 7, Iolo is wondering why they have to spend the night apart, with Tyler asserting that it is tradition, and asks why Iolo is looking fed up.
"She threatened to ruin the wedding!"
He replies, “Remember how Gwyneth told me she had sabotaged Dad’s plumbing work?   Now she has threatened that if I dare tell Dad, she will ruin the wedding.”
"Tell your Dad – after the wedding!"
Tyler is of the opinion that there is only one course of action he can take;  “Keep her on side now, but tell your Dad after the wedding.”   Iolo would prefer to tell him now, so Siôn can see just how devious she is – and then they would not have to see her face at the wedding.
Tyler urges him to keep his mouth shut for now, and then leaves, as he is spending the night at the Deri flat with his sister, Dani.
"I assume you told her everything?"
Ed is being given the third degree by Sioned;  “I assume you told her everything!   What did she say?   Offer to help?
"Did she feel sorry for you?"
Or did she feel sorry for you and tell you to leave me?”
"She knows about Dewi – and Gwyneth!"
“She knows about Dewi – and Gwyneth!” Ed admits, and Sioned demands whether he is off his head.   “Yes, I think I am,” he replies drearily.
"You're not going near Courtney again!"
“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” she screams, “You’re not going near Courtney again!” and, so saying, she marches out of the flat, while Ed simply looks bewildered, as he so often does.
"You don't mind me letting myself in, do you?"
Courtney is just making herself a cup of tea when Sioned appears:  “You don’t mind me letting myself in, do you?” she says,
"I want you to promise you won't breath a word"
I want you to promise you won’t breathe a word about what Ed said.   He shouldn’t have told you, and we’d really appreciate it if you didn’t say anything.”
"But he killed someone!"
Courtney is outraged;  “He killed someone!”   When Sioned explains that it was not intentional, Courtney asks, “How do you know?   Were you there?”   Sioned confronts her and assures her that Ed would not do something like that, but Courtney is adamant, “He still killed someone!”
"I'm warning you!"
You don’t understand – I’m warning you!” growls Sioned,
Eifion overhears the heated conversation . . .
but then becomes aware that Eifion is standing behind her, and rapidly leaves the house.   When Eifion asks what is going on, Courtney disappears upstairs,
. . . and wonders what it is all about
and he looks perplexed.
Special lamb stew, cooked by Gwyneth
At Y Felin, Gwyneth has cooked lamb stew for Siôn and Iolo, who is staying there overnight.
"Dani says it's all under control"
Iolo has been told by Dani that everything is under control,
"Things can go wrong!"
but Gwyneth cautions, “Things can go wrong – the most unexpected things can happen.”   Siôn tells her to stop scaremongering.
"Tyler will keep me calm"
Iolo maintains that if he is stressed, Tyler will be there to calm him;  “Your father has the same effect on me,” comments Gwyneth, “It must be true love!”   This goads Iolo, who is about to tell his father about her sabotage
"Oh – err – excuse me!"
when he is gripped by sudden stomach pains, and dashes to the bathroom.
"What's up between Sioned and Courtney?"
Outside the shop, Eifion asks Eileen, “What’s up between Sioned and Courtney?   I walked in on them having a serious chat – I wondered if you knew.”   This is news to Eileen, but she will enquire.
"Where's Courtney going, then?"
Courtney comes out of the house and heads towards the garage,
"It's my driving test on Saturday"
where Gethin tells her the good news that Matilda has passed her MOT.   Courtney’s driving test is on Saturday, and Gethin warns her, “The real test will be after you’ve passed – driving alone!”
"The driver's window won't go down"
Ed hangs around the garage and asks Gethin to have a look at the taxi electrics, then follows Courtney along the road.
"I'm sorry for dropping that on you!"
“I’m sorry for dropping that on you – I was glad to have someone to talk to,” he says.
"I could go straight to the police!"
Angrily, she tells him, “I could go straight to the police!   Someone’s dead because of you – I haven’t decided yet what I will do.   Do you think I wanted to get involved?
"You've dragged me into your mess!"
It’s your mess, and now you’ve dragged me into it!”
"Have you quarrelled with Courtney?"
In the shop flat, Eileen asks Sioned if she and Courtney have quarrelled,
Sioned quickly invents a tale
and Sioned makes up a tale about Courtney borrowing an old coat and then losing it.   She assures her mother that it is all sorted now.
"We're in trouble!"
Eileen, who is cooking, goes downstairs to the shop for some jam;  Ed comes in and warns Sioned, “We’re in trouble!”
Siôn is concerned when Iolo rushes off again
Iolo ventures downstairs and reports that he has been throwing up;  after only a few seconds, he has to rush away again.
Dani pours some wine
Dani opens a bottle;  she and Tyler reminisce about their youth.   “Who was your first love?” she asks him,
"Remember Eleri, from across the road?"
and he remembers Eleri, who lived across the road, and whose father was in prison for GBH.
"There was Jess the Goth"
Then there were Jess the Goth and Stephanie, Dani’s best friend.
"Ashley Richards?   I went out with him!"
When asked who was his first man, she is told, “Ashley Richards, in your class!”   She finds this unsettling, as she also went out with him.
Iolo looks far from well
Iolo appears in a bad state as he takes sips of water,
"Don't tell Tyler!"
but he does not want Tyler to know, so as not to worry him.   Siôn goes to the kitchen for more water.
"You did this to me!"
Iolo asks Gwyneth, who is ironing, “Why have you done this?   There’s no need to act innocent – Dad’s not here!   You did this to me – I’ve done nothing to you, and I’m not planning to!”
"You don't know what you're talking about!"
Gwyneth replies that he does not know what he is talking about, and Siôn returns with the glass of water.
Courtney seems to be accepting her situation
Courtney sits on the sofa, and feels her stomach;  she appears to be coming to terms with her situation, and even smiles.
