Siôn, doing some housework
Siôn is vacuuming when Gwyneth comes in and flops into the chair;  “I didn’t sleep a wink last night,” she complains, “Everything was going round and round in my head.
"I'm not looking forward to telling Sara"
I’m not looking forward to telling Sara I’m leaving.”
He tells her to have a lie down, and he will make her a cup of tea;
"Garry will cool down"
“We’ll give Garry a chance to cool down – he will eventually come round.   Do you want me to have a word with him?”   Gwyneth thinks that this will make matters worse.
Eifion has a few questions for Angela
Eifion is speaking to Angela on the phone;  “Where are you?   Where are you living?   And what about that money?” he demands.
"Your Mam wants to talk to you"
Angela asks to talk to Courtney, but she flatly refuses, stressing that she never wants to speak to her mother again.   He lies to Angela that Courtney is not there,
"I doubt she'll ever talk to you again!"
and adds, “If you want my honest opinion, I doubt she will ever talk to you again!”
"Why did they decide to sell so quickly?"
Dani is puzzling over why Siôn and Gwyneth decided to sell so quickly;  “Are they buying a house in Newport?   Didn’t you ask?” she quizzes Garry.
"Things got a bit . . . tense!"
He replies that things became rather . . . tense.
"She's got a nerve!"
“She’s got a nerve, taking Gwern away – he’s happy where he is,” Dani insists.
"I've spoken to my solicitor"
Britt comes in to inform them she has been in touch with her solicitor to start divorce proceedings.
"You must think of yourself"
Dani tells her it is important that she think of herself, as all that Siôn and Gwyneth are doing is thinking of themselves.
"Will you come with me?"
Britt asks, “Will you come to the solicitor’s with me?” and Dani is happy to do so.
Surely he should be out, booking unsuspecting motorists
In APD, Eifion gossips to Jim, “I’m not surprised he’s selling up and moving away – all the hassle they’ve had the last few months.   It’s a nice big house for someone.”
"Don't you have anything to do?"
Jim irritably replies, “Don’t you have anything to do?   I haven’t got time to listen to this nonsense!”   As Eifion leaves, DJ comes in, much to Jim’s surprise;  “You should be taking Cadno to Maenclochog!” shouts Jim.
"She won't go anywhere until this calf arrives"
DJ explains that one of the calves, due last night, still has not arrived, and Cadno refuses to go anywhere until it has.
"She has to be out of the way by two!"
Furiously, Jim issues an ultimatum, “The council are coming – and Cadno has to be out of the way by two!”
Courtney is rather scathing about her mother
At school, as Courtney tells Elliw she never wants to speak to her mother again,
What is an apprentice welder doing, wandering round school?
they meet Mathew (why he is in the school is not explained) who is looking for the caretaker’s storeroom.
"We'll be happy to come looking for you!"
Elliw gives him directions, adding, “Shall we show you the way?   If you get lost, we’ll be happy to come looking for you!”
"Ooh, Courtney – you're blushing!"

When he has gone, Elliw accuses Courtney of blushing.

She objects, “I’m not!   He is good-looking, but way out of my league – he must be 22!”   Elliw decides to look him up on CnocCnoc
Here comes 'lover-boy' Chester
then they see Chester approaching, and ply him with questions.
"Did she try to snog you?"
“Where have you been?   The staffroom?   Was Ffion there”?   Did she try to snog you?”
Again, Chester runs away . . .
He escapes, hurrying away down the stairs, and, checking that the coast is clear, heads out of the school.
. . . but is seen by Gaynor . . .

Gaynor has seen him, and calls after him,
. . . as he 'does a runner'
but he runs out of the gate.
"That calf has still not put in an appearance"
At Penrhewl, DJ phones Jim to advise the calf still has not been born, and tells him to postpone the council visit.
"Say you've caught a bug!"
“Tell them that you’ve got the flu, say you’ve caught a bug!”
"Who's got a bug?"
Cadno has come in and overheard this, so she asks who has caught a bug.
DJ finds it difficult, thinking so quickly
DJ has to think quickly, and comes up with, “Er, you know, that bloke from Cwrtmynach – ginger hair – one of the haulage gang.”
"Maenclochog, here we come!"
Much to his surprise, she announces that they can in fact now leave for Maenclochog, as the calf is healthy and suckling.
He will not issue his quota of tickets like this
Eifion is now gossiping in the Deri;  he has called at the estate agent and found out that Y Felin is only being advertised locally at the moment.   Garry says, “You’re Welsh, local and have a fortune in the bank from your share of Penrhewl – you’ve got more than enough to buy it.”
Eifion enquires whether Gwern will be spending the week at Newport and weekends with Garry,
"Mind your own business!"
but receives a frosty answer;  “Mind your own business!”
"I saw Chester leaving school"
Gaynor comes in, looking for Britt, and tells Garry that she saw Chester leaving school.
"This is a serious matter!"
“This is a serious matter!   If he doesn’t attend school regularly, Britt could get a hefty fine – or even a prison sentence!”
Who is this, hiding in the shadows?
Meanwhile, Chester is lurking in the alley,
Eifion chats with Siôn
and makes himself scarce when he sees Siôn talking to Eifion.   Then Gwyneth arrives with her wage packet,
"There's another large order coming"
mentioning to Siôn that there is another large order arriving at Awyr Iach tomorrow.   They go to the café to plan what to say to Garry.
"That solicitor certainly knows her stuff!"
Britt is full of praise for her solicitor;  “She certainly knows her stuff!   She said I must get the best possible deal,” she tells Dani.
"Gaynor is on the warpath!"
Garry is the bearer of bad tidings about Gaynor’s visit, and Britt phones her.
Gaynor is told that Britt will find him
“I’m in the Deri, so I’ll go straight to the flat to find him and ring you from there,” she assures Gaynor.
"You have to contact him on CnocCnoc!
Elliw is eager to pair Courtney off with Mathew;  “I’ve looked him up – he’s rugby and music mad – you could go to gigs together!   You have to contact him on CnocCnoc – I can do it for you!” but Courtney tells her not to do that.
Jim gives the council officers the tour of Penrhewl
The men from the council have arrived at Penrhewl, and Jim is showing them around, pointing out where the car parks could be situated.   “We had a successful wedding in the barn a few weeks ago,” he boasts, but the men say nothing.
"We're all on the same side"
Siôn and Gwyneth confront Garry across the bar;  “We’re all on the same side,” insists Siôn, “We have an idea – Gwern lives with us and spends every holiday with you and Dani.”
"He belongs here!"
Garry is quite adamant that this is where he belongs, as he is happiest here with his family and friends.
Gwyneth is equally insistent
“Let’s get one thing straight – we’re moving!” Gwyneth tells him.
"Gwern is staying in Cwmderi!"
He replies rather forcefully that they may be, but Gwern is staying in Cwmderi.
Britt, causing trouble again
Britt starts stirring things;  “It’s obvious now why you wanted all my stuff out of Y Felin – you wanted to sell without telling anyone.
"You might have a shock before long!"
“You might have a shock before long – I’ve been to see my solicitor – so contact me through her!   I’ve started divorce proceedings – now get out of my sight!”   Then she tells Garry that Chester is not in the flat, and enlists his assistance to find him.
Jim points out some salient details
As Jim points out various details on the plans of Penrhewl’s land, DJ shouts to him that Cadno is back.
They are joined by Cadno
When she walks into the barn, she reveals that she knows exactly what is going on,
"You're not against it, then?"
and much to Jim’s surprise, she is in favour of the move.   “Until we get the report back, we won’t know, will we?” she comments.
Chester has managed to avoid everyone . . .
Chester saunters cautiously along the back street, but is ambushed by Garry, waiting in the alley for him;
. . . until Garry catches him
“Why are you not at school?” Garry demands, “Your mother has enough on her plate without you causing more trouble!   We’re keeping quiet about Ffion to keep your mother out of prison for slander.”
Chester replies that it is nothing to do with him, but Garry is adamant;  “It is, if it can send your mother to prison!
"You and I are going for a walk!"
You and I are going for a walk!”   He grabs Chester’s collar and frogmarches him along the street.
Gwyneth has had a complete change of mind
Gwyneth has had a change of mind, now insisting that they take the house off the market and stay in Cwmderi.   In spite of Siôn’s objections, she maintains,
"What he said about Gwern is right!"
“It’s too complicated!   Garry won’t agree to anything – and what he said about Gwern is true.   The move suits us – that’s all.   Why would we move him from the school, where he’s happy?”
"I'm not going to let Garry Monk control my life!"
Siôn becomes angry;  I’m not going to let Garry Monk control my life!   We’ll wait until next week, when he will have had time to think it through – then he’ll compromise!”
"Go on, just send him one message!"
At the end of school, Eilliw is still matchmaking, urging Courtney to send Mathew just one message, but Courtney does not want to appear ‘pushy’.
Garry ensures Chester actually reaches the school
Garry propels Chester in through the school gates;  “I’ll never forgive you!   You can’t do this!” says Chester, but with no effect.
The onlookers are enjoying this
They meet Gaynor who welcomes him back, and Garry reminds him there is something he has to tell Mrs Llywelyn.
His apology sounds unconvincing
“I’m sorry for being absent without permission,” he mumbles, insincerely, and Gaynor thanks him for the apology.   As Elliw and Courtney watch,
Garry leaves him . . .
Garry turns and goes,
. . . and Chester feels 'a right berk'
leaving Chester feeling exceedingly embarrassed.
