Daniel is getting on well with Arwen

While Daniel is chatting to Arwen, Ffion says she will run the Welsh Classes, 

"It will look good on my CV"

as it will look good on her CV.   Hywel comes in, 

"Time to brush your teeth"

and when Daniel has taken Arwen to clean her teeth, 

"You've really made this work"

tells Ffion, “You’ve really made this work – you seem really happy here!”

“I’ve had to work hard to get here,” she replies, “I came close to losing everything!   

"Why don't you go and see Sheryl?"

“Why don’t you go and see Sheryl – you obviously miss her?   Just because they’re not blood relatives, that doesn’t mean we can’t love them.”

"Garry's with the police"

Chester is eating his breakfast when Britt bursts in, wanting Garry;  she is told that he is with the police.   “He will be all right, won’t he?   He won’t go to prison?” pleads Chester, 

"Everyone hates me at school"

“Everyone at school hates me for what I’ve done!”

“We all have to take responsibility for our actions,” Britt tells him, and when he maintains that he still thinks Siôn should go to prison, she adds, “Do you think I should go to prison?   

Not a great deal of synpathy from his mother

“What would happen to you, with Garry and me in prison – because of you?”   She marches out, and in his rage, 

After Chester has sent things flying

Chester knocks the cereal, milk bottle and orange juice carton from the table.

"I've got to make a bit of an effort here"

In the salon, Sheryl looks at herself in the mirror, 

"Yes, that's more like it"

then lets her hair down and fetches some bottles of hair products.

What does Dol think she looks like?

Dol comes downstairs in a ridiculous dress;  “I got it in Llanelli market,” she tells Vicky, “It’s for singles night at The Bell – and you’re coming with me!   

She wants a 'bit of action'

“While Sam finds the courage to ask me out, I thought a bit of action wouldn’t go amiss!”   

"I'll be washing my hair – or having a headache!"

Vicky regards the dress as ‘OTT’, and announces that she will be washing her hair or having a headache – she has not quite made her mind up yet.   “In any case, I won’t find a Prince Charming in the Bell!” Vicky adds, with distaste.

"What if I end up with a serial killer?"

“Dol will not be  deterred;  “I need a chaperone – I might end up with Ted Bundy, a notorious serial killer, with film star looks!   So, unless you want to see a reconstruction of me looking for love on Crimewatch – you’re coming!”

Sheryl's puts her plan into action

Sheryl arrives at Cysgod y Glyn with Esther, on the pretext of delivering a letter to Hywel;  he is working on the accounts.   “We are on the way to the benefits office, to find out what I can claim, then going to see Dani to sort out the salon,” she says.

"You know I will help you out?"

Hywel reminds her that he will help financially, but she insists she wants to stand on her own two feet;  when she goes, he sits down sadly.

"One word – Craig!"

Garry is there when Britt goes to the flat again;  “One word – Craig!” she hisses, “Siôn hasn’t just told me – he wants to tell the police, which means the children’s lives are at risk!   We wouldn’t be in this mess if you hadn’t told Siôn to hide the gun in the chapel!   

"What were you thinking?"

“What were you thinking?   I always suspected you had something to do with this – and now you’ve pushed Siôn over the edge, he’s more dangerous than any of us!”

"I'm going to sort this out!"

Garry puts on his jacket;  “I’m going to sort this out – not with Siôn, but with Gwyneth!”

When she and Dol meet Sheryl in the street, Vicky is surprised to hear that the adoption of Esther only took a couple of months to arrange.   

"My friend's daughter was waiting three years"

Dol remarks that her friend’s daughter was waiting for three years;  “They allowed you to take her from another country in two months?   

"Did you use bribery?"

“Did you use bribery?” Vicky asks, rather pointedly.

Hywel has joined them by this time, and explains that the rules are different in Uganda, 

"We've been planning this for a while"

and that they have been planning the adoption for some time.   This does nothing to allay Vicky’s suspicions.

"I don't blame Vicky, mind"

Sheryl tells Hywel that she does not blame Vicky, after the business with Nicky;  he asks if she fancies a drink after work.

"Where's Gwyneth?"

Garry marches into Y Felin, wanting to know if Gwyneth is there.   Siôn replies that she is at a Holistic Festival in Swansea.   “Have you told her you’re going to put Gwern’s life in danger?” Garry demands, “Your latest plot to drag a psycho like Craig back into our lives!”

"He won't go after Gwern"

Siôn insists that he will not go after Gwern, but Garry is unconvinced;  “You’re the snitch – and Gwern lives with you – do the maths!”   Siôn argues that Craig knows who Chester, Catrin and Aaron are, and that they are easier targets.   

"Let's not worry about Chester and Aaron disappearing!"

“Oh, that’s all right then!” rages Garry, “Let’s not worry about Chester and Aaron disappearing!   Does Gwyneth have any idea about the carnage you plan to cause?”

"You and your poisonous nephew!"

Siôn answers, “You and your poisonous nephew started this – I’m not taking the blame, while you walk around like some god!”

“You’ve gone too far this time!” shouts Garry, “Stealing money is one thing, but putting the children in danger?   Could you live with that for the rest of your life?   I don’t think so – you’re better than this!”

"Get out!"

Siôn emphatically orders him, “Get out!”

"How about this, then?"

Dol shows off her newly-purchased shoes as 

"OK if I put this up?"

Ffion puts a notice about the Welsh Classes in the board in the Deri.   Vicky advises that this is exactly what Dol needs, but bearing in mind what Dol called Ffion not long ago, an apology is in order.

Dol apologises to Ffion 

“I wanted to say sorry for saying things about that Chester business – it was wrong, and I’m sorry.”   

"Apology accepted – see you at the club!"

Ffion accepts the apology and hopes to see Dol at the club.   “I went to a class in Llanarthur – there were some nice men there,” she tells Vicky.

"This is not a holiday camp!"

Garry finds Chester at the garage, playing on his phone;  “I told you this is not a holiday camp!” Garry roars, “Sort the files out and then make tea!”

Daniel comes in with Gethin

Gethin comes in with Daniel, 

Garry takes out his anger on Gethin

and is reprimanded for not finishing his work on the VW.   

"Why are you so angry – and rude?"

Daniel demands, “Why are you so angry – and rude?”   

This makes Garry laugh

Garry is rather amused by this and actually apologises, something which does not happen often. 

He tells Gethin, “You ought to be more like your son – I might respect you more!”   

"If you were like your son, then people might like you!"

Gethin responds with, “And you should be more like your son – then people might like you!”

"Eileen was quite happy to look after Esther"

In the Deri, Sheryl bemoans the fact that she and Hywel have not spent much time together, and reveals that Eileen was delighted to look after Esther, as practice for Sioned’s baby.   “I’m so sorry that it turned out this way,” Sheryl says, 

"I miss you terribly"

and Hywel admits that he does miss her, otherwise he would not have chased halfway round the world after her.   

"Want to go back to the flat?"

She asks, “Do you want to go back to the flat?”

The DS catches up with Britt

DS Davies has at last managed to track down Britt, and tells her, “I want to talk about Siôn White and the money from Bethania.”

"Garry made me look like a slave!"

Gethin complains that he was made to look like a slave in front of Daniel;  “I want him to be proud of me – but Garry has a pub, garage and a few houses to his name!”   

"Well, I wouldn't throw water on him!"

Ffion admits that if Garry were on fire, she would not throw water on him.

She changes the subject, asking Gethin if he fancies co-hosting the Welsh classes with her, as he is great with people, and two would be better than one.   “You’re feeling sorry for the run-of-the-mill mechanic, are you?” he demands, 

"Aah – shall I get my violin?"

and she offers to fetch her violin.   “I’m living with the most in-demand woman in Cwmderi!” he says.

“Help with the lessons, and you can come away with us tomorrow!” she suggests, 

"I've booked that weekend!"

“I have booked it!”   

Gethin gives in

Gethin confesses that he will have to give in to her blackmail this time.

"My feelings towards the baby haven't changed"

Sitting on the sofa together, Hywel stresses that his feelings towards the baby have not changed, 

"I'm scared it will go wrong"

and he is not sure that he can resume the relationship as he is scared of it going wrong.   

Sheryl's plan has almost worked . . . 

“That won’t be as bad as if we don’t give it a go,” argues Sheryl.

“Do you want me to come back?” he asks, and she replies that of course she does.   “Right, I’d better go and tell Gethin and Ffion,” he says, 

. . . yes, she has him wrapped round her little finger

and they kiss.

The case against Garry has been dropped

DS Davies visits the Deri to inform Garry that the charge of encouraging Chester to waste police time is being dropped, 

"Yeah!"

which makes Chester quite happy.   Then she turns her attention to Siôn;  

"Siôn White, I'm arresting you.   It may harm your defence if . . ."

“Siôn White, I’m arresting you for stealing money from Bethania,” and as she continues with the caution, 

"I haven't done anything!"

he protests his innocence, and Garry, Chester and Britt look at each other.

“If you don’t come voluntarily, we will put you in handcuffs,” Siôn is warned.

"I know you love the children – please!"

he gets up to go, Britt whispers, “We were married for ten years – I know you love the children – please!”

"He'll keep quiet as far as the children are concerned"

She tells Garry that she trusts Siôn to keep quiet as far as the children are concerned.   When Garry expresses concern about the mess Siôn has made of this, she adds, 

"This is as much your mess as his!"

“This is as much your mess as his!   You’re to blame!   Let me tell you – I’ll never forgive you if anything happens to the children!   

Yes, Garry hears loud and clear
