"It's important to relax"
Sioned is exercising, and tells Ed, “It’s important to relax – maybe you should try it, especially now.   Anything that helps us to succeed!
"It's the ideal day to try for a baby!"
I’ve done a test – it’s the ideal day to try for a baby!”   Ed mumbles that he has to go back to work.   “There’s no time to lose!   I’m at my most fertile” she insists,
"See you later"
but he simply replies she still will be tonight, and leaves.
Iolo ignores Siôn
Iolo completely ignores his father in the street, and then Chester emerges from the alley;  he comments,
Chester has an audience
“Well, well, look who it is – you haven’t heard the half of it yet!”   Several villagers are watching as Chester goes on,
"How many times have you preached at me?"
“How many times have you preached at me ‘Chester, go to bed, don’t speak to your mother like that’?”
Siôn protests that he has learned his lesson, but Chester tells him it is too late – he is a hypocrite.
"You sent that letter!"
Britt comes out of the chip shop as Siôn realises, “You sent that letter!   It’s obvious now – and all those images online last week!   You’re enjoying this!”
Chester agrees, “I’m loving it!   No-one treats my family like that!”   Britt orders him inside several times and tells him to stop.
"You're far too soft!"
He tells her, “After what he did?   You’re far too soft!”
Sheryl enjoys spending money
In the café, while Sioned looks at Esther, Sheryl is buying things for her online;  Dani enthuses, “Oh, they’re so cute!”
Hywel is totally superfluous
while Hywel simply looks bored.
Sheryl has decided that they will refurnish the baby’s room, and that it needs painting too.   “There, I’ve ordered it,” she exclaims, “It should be here by the end of the week.”
"You're spending money like water!"
Hywel protests that she is spending money like water.
"Can I come and talk to you later?"
Kelly asks if she can come and talk to her later, then Sheryl goes to pay for their meal,
"Sorry Sheryl, your card's been declined"
but is told that her card has been declined.
She will not accept Hywel's offer to help
She empties all the cash from her purse, and refuses Hywel’s offer to pay, leaving rather sheepishly.
"You must act like an adult"
Britt tells Chester that if he wants to be treated like an adult, he must act like one.
"He deserves to be punished!"
He grumbles that Siôn deserves to be punished;  “He will be – the police will see to that,” Britt assures him, “Promise me you’ll keep out of Siôn’s way!
"We have to start living like a normal family"
I don’t give a damn about him, but I do care about you.  We have to start living like a normal family.”
"How did you get in here?"
When Iolo arrives home, he is shocked to find Siôn waiting for him there;  “How did you get in?” he demands.   Siôn tries to explain how sorry he is, but Iolo is having none of it;  “I’m not interested – get out, before I call the police!”
"The last thing I want is to lose you!"
“Gwyneth almost left me yesterday, and the last thing I want is to lose you!” Siôn implores him,
"Leave me alone!   Out!"
but Iolo insists, “You might be able to influence Gwyneth, but you can’t twist me round your little finger – I obviously mean nothing to you any more!   Leave me alone!   Out!   It’s too late to ask me to help you!”
Ed ferociously attacks the punchbag
In the Antur, where a Welsh flag adorns the wall, Ed takes out his frustrations on a punchbag.
"You're like a wild animal!"
Sara comes in and remarks, “Calm down – you’re like a wild animal!   Sioned could walk in at any minute.” Ed maintains that if he wants to box, he should be allowed to.   “But you don’t want her to catch you, and embarrass you in front of everyone, do you?” asks Sara, “Sioned still thinks you’re ready to have a child?”
"There's no point talking to Sioned!"
Ed answers that she is pushing on without listening to him, and there is no point in talking, as nothing will change.   “I’m not ready to be a father yet, but that’s all she thinks about, morning, noon and night!   Once her mind is made up, there’s no getting away from it.”
Sheryl feels worthless
Dani is surprised to see the Salon open again;  Sheryl tells her, “Hywel had no right to speak to me like that in the café – it made me feel worthless.   But he does have a point – the bills won’t pay themselves.
She does not qualify for maternity pay
I don’t want to find myself out on the street – it’s not easy caring for a child without maternity pay.”
Then Sheryl’s tone becomes wheedling, stressing she could do with help in the salon.   Dani is emphatic;  “No, I’ve got loads to do in the Deri, and Garry would go mad!”
Sheryl has her fingers crossed
but Sheryl pleads at length on how she wants Esther to have everything she deserves.   Finally Dani caves in;  “Oh, all right, but I’m not making promises!”
"I'd rather be watching Wales play!"
At the bar in the Deri, Hywel wishes he were in France, watching Wales, but is reminded by Garry that he has a baby now.   Hywel advises Chester, “Make the most of your youth!” but Garry rebukes him for putting ideas into Chester’s head, about which his mother would not be happy.
"When is she ever happy?"
“When is she ever happy?” moans Chester, but then, when he sees Siôn come in, he adds,
"I could be living with him!"
“Life could be a lot worse – I could be living with him!”
"Tyler, serve him!"
Garry will not serve Siôn, but instructs Tyler to do so.
"You have to tell Sioned"
Sara advises, “You have to tell Sioned,” but Ed explains that his relationship with Sioned is not like anyone else’s.   She says, “I explained to Jason that I’m not ready to have children, and he understood.   Priorities change, but it doesn’t feel right at the moment.”
"Are you happy?"
When Ed asks if she is happy, she replies in the affirmative, adding, “And you will be too, when you’ve had a sensible conversation.”
"It's nice to talk to someone who understands"
Ed comments that it is nice to talk to someone who understands,
This, however, is a bit excessive . . .
then tries to kiss her, but she quickly pulls away;
. . . and Sara agrees
“What came over you?” she demands.   As Ed apologises profusely,
Here comes Sioned again
Sioned walks in, and so he tells her he has been for a run and Sara came in for a cuppa.
Sioned issues his instructions;
"Right, you can come home with me!"
“Right, you can come home with me – you promised, and your boss doesn’t like being rejected – come on!” Ed obediently follows her.
That towel has seen better days
Sheryl and Dani recall an incident when they almost cooked Mrs Jenkins under the dryer,
"I want to write about adoption"
then Kelly comes in, explaining she wants to write an article about adoption and the effects that budget cuts are having on waiting lists.
"You're the perfect person!"
“Sheryl, you’re the perfect person, as you’ve been through the system.”
Sheryl refuses, and when Kelly presses the matter, she becomes quite belligerent.
Sheryl flatly refuses
“I can’t!   I said no!   I don’t want personal matters in the paper!   When will you stop using people round here in your articles?”
"Right, I'd better make myself scarce, then"
Kelly beats a hasty retreat.
"I don't take sides"
Tyler sees Siôn sitting alone in the Deri and tells him, “I know this is not easy, but I don’t take sides.   Iolo’s pretending that nothing is wrong – so just give him time.”
"Can you help me – he'll listen to you?"
Siôn insists that Iolo will listen to Tyler, and asks for his help.
Iolo arrives at the Deri
At this point Iolo comes in, and when he sees his father there,
"I can't stand being in the same village!"
he says, “I can’t stand being in the same village, let alone the same room!” and turns to leave.
"Everyone deserves a second chance"
Tyler argues that running away solves nothing, and that everyone deserves a second chance,
"Not this time!"
but Iolo is adamant;  “Not this time!”
"You really ought to apologise"
In the salon, Dani advises it would be best to apologise to Kelly, as she might question the adoption.   Sheryl maintains that she has been independent all her life, and does not want to be a burden to anyone.
Hywel comes in
Hywel comes in,
"I don't like it, either"
confessing that he does not like it when they quarrel,
How long will it last this time?
and once again they are reconciled.
Dani is getting grief from Garry
Garry is indeed not happy about Dani returning to the salon;  “What happens when she loses interest again?   She’ll be off to Africa to save more children.”   Dani informs Kelly that Sheryl is ‘not quite herself at the moment’.
"That's no reason to bite my head off!"
Kelly replies that is no reason to bite her head off.
Britt, the darts expert
Britt is playing darts, and recalls the photo of Brian Morris, the guy who dumped her when she was Chester’s age, being on the dartboard.
"Can we put up a photo of Siôn?"
This gives Chester an idea;  “Can we put up a photo of Siôn?”
Siôn is all on his own . . .
As Siôn sits morosely, watching them,
. . . while they have a toast, "To the Monks!"
Garry proposes a toast, “To the Monks!”   Siôn puts on his coat and is leaving, when Garry warns him,
"If I hear you've opened your mouth . . ."
“You’ve listened so far, but if I hear you’ve opened your mouth about the gun . . .”
"I know better than to cross the Monks!"
Siôn replies, “Don’t worry – I know better than to cross the Monks!”
"It's so nice to hear your voice"
Sara speaks to Jason on the phone;  “It’s so nice to hear your voice – look after yourself – I love you!”
"I know what you've been doing!"
Ed comes in, having had a shower;  “You’re a terrible liar,” announces Sioned, “You can’t hide anything  – I know what you’ve been doing – the punchbag!   You’re planning to box, aren’t you?   You promised me last week!”
Ed stresses that fitness is important to improve the chances of having babies, and professes, “I’d do anything for you!”
"Stop the boxing – and stay away from Sara!"
“So promise you’ll stop the boxing business – and stay away from Sara – I don’t like her!
"Come on, we've got some baby-making to do!"
Come on!”   She heads for the bedroom.
