Hywel tries some devious measures

Hywel searches on the Chwilota seach engine for “Hacking Confidential Websites”, but then gives up.

He is spurred on in his quest . . .

Looking across at the picture on the wall gives him fresh impetus,

. . . and sets to work again

and he continues searching.

Ed tries to talk sense into Sioned

Ed suggests to Sioned, “The sensible thing would be to take the ‘morning after’ pill, and then talk about it later. I have the right to decide whether I want to be a father.

"It should be a joint decision"

“I understand that it’s your body, and I can’t force my ideas on you, but I’m asking that you consider it – it should be a joint decision.”

"Why don't you want a baby with me?"

She wails, “Why don’t you want to have a baby with me? I want a baby now!” He insists that he wants a child, but only when the time is right, and not by being tricked into it. “What does it matter how it started, if the ball’s already rolling?” she demands, “Nature knows what it’s doing – a baby might have started growing in there already, and who are we to stop it?”

Eifion has been up half the night

Eifion is feeling the strain as he prepares the boys’ breakfast, after being up during the night, as Bobi is still having nightmares. He tells DJ that the accident is taking its toll. Jim comes in with a letter from the Health and Safety Executive;

DJ is reluctant to open the letter

DJ hesitates about opening it, so Eifion grabs it.

“I’ll open it if you’re too much of a baby!” he says.

"You weren't looking where you were going!"

He reads that the tractor was in perfect condition, and adds, “The report might say it’s fine, but you weren’t looking where you were going!” DJ glumly goes out to feed the dogs.

"Thought you'd be at the salon by now"

At Cysgod y Glyn, Gethin tells Sheryl that he thought she would be at the salon by now, as it is 9:00am. She replies that she is not going in today, and neither is she ready to move back into the salon flat. Ffion is on a mother and baby walk with several others, after a weekend at Nesta’s where Arwen developed a close friendship with Leucu.

"Go and talk to Hywel"

As Gethin discovered his boss is in Newcastle, he has decided to take a day off, and again urges Sheryl to go and talk to Hywel.

Either Hywel has secret hacking skills, or website security is lax

By this time, Hywel has somehow managed to infiltrate an official website, with a list of children and their addresses;

He writes down the address

he writes down the address pertaining to Esther Atieno, and hurries off with the information.

"Is this really how you want your baby's life to start?"

Ed insists that what Sioned is doing is unfair; “Is this really how you want your baby’s life to start?” he asks. She replies that she has no choice. “I’m not forcing you to do anything,” he continues, “I’ll be here for you whatever happens, but this will hang over us for the rest of our lives – thant you tricked me into it.”

"You don't understand, do you?"

“You don’t understand, do you?” Sioned tells him, “The suffering of a woman who wants a baby!”

"Why are you so desperate all of a sudden?"

Ed points out that they have only been married for five minutes, and cannot understand why she is so desperate now.

He admits that he lost a baby, and that was painful,

"Why do you have to be so cruel?"

but Sioned is quick to point out, “Ah, yes – Angela’s baby! Why do you have to remind me of that? Why have you got to be so cruel? You were ready to have a baby with her – of all people – but don’t want one with me, your wife!”

Eifion has packed a bag and is about to leave with the boys,

"You're a good worker, Eifion"

when Jim tells him, “I know we don’t always see eye to eye, but you’re a good worker – I’m just sorry I can’t pay you.”

"I'm doing it for the boys!"

Eifion nobly announces that he is doing it for the boys, not for wages. It appears they have shelved the idea of John Ty Isa’ taking over the farm.

DJ comes in and is told that Jim and Eifion want him working in the fields today.

"I'm not your servant!"

“That’s what you think, is it?” asks DJ, “I’m not your servant!”

"That's exactly what you are – a farmhand!"

Eifion takes pleasure in pointing out that is exactly what he is – a farmhand; “I know more about farming that you ever will!” Eifion boasts.

When Eifion has gone, Jim urges DJ that they all have to get on together, and that Eifion’s heart is in the right place.

"He's getting too big for his wellies!"

DJ does not agree; “He’s getting too big for his wellies! He’s always had a sly streak – he won’t do anything for anyone unless there’s something in it for him!”

Sheryl looks at Esther's babygro . . .

Sheryl goes to the salon flat to see Hywel, but of course he is not there; after looking at one of Esther’s babygros,

. . . then sees the address on the laptop screen

she notices the address on the laptop, also writes it down and hurries away.

Sioned is hiding in the Deri

Ed tracks down Sioned to the Deri where she continues her moaning,

"Why were you ready to have a baby with her?"

“You went too far – your relationship with Angela obviously meant more to you. Why were you ready to have a baby with her? It doesn’t make sense.

"She let me believe she was still pregnant"

Ed reveals, “She lied to me – she lost the baby a long time before she told me, and let me believe she was still pregnant. That hurt more than anything ! After that, there was no future for us – lies and deception ruin relationships, and that’s why I want to get it right with you.

Is Sioned looking more sympathetic?

“I want us both to be ready. I want us both to be in agreement, and want to celebrate doing something amazing together. Don’t you want to do that, too?”

Jim dislikes being between ‘the bull’ and ‘the ram’

Jim comes in, desperate for a pint, and Gethin asks him if it is hard work at Penrhewl; “The work is easy – it’s controlling ‘the bull and the ram’ that’s difficult!” Jim tells him, and seeing Gethin’s puzzled look, he explains, “Eifion and DJ – you can work out which is which!”

Hywel arrives at the address in Swansea . . .

Hywel’s blue Mazda pulls up, and after checking the address,

. . . but Sheryl must have taken a short cut

Hywel approaches a house, then sees Sheryl furiously banging on the door.

"What are you doing here?"

He asks what she is doing there; she replies, “I could ask you the same thing!” He informs her that he intended to take photos of Esther to prove to Sheryl that she was all right.

"This is not the right course of action!"

After some heated argument, he manages to drag her back to the car, so they can talk. “This is not the right course of action, and you know it!” he scolds.

When Sheryl gets in the car . . .

As they sit there car, another car pulls up outside the house,

. . . they see Esther, with her foster-parents

and they see a couple with Esther.

"Let me out, Hywel!"

Sheryl wants to go and confront them, but Hywel quickly activates the central locking to prevent her, arguing, “Her place is with them – for now!”

The garage has an intruder . . .

In the garage, a masked figure, armed with an aerosol can, approaches the CCTV camera, looks up,

. . . with an aerosol paint can

and sprays black paint on it.

"It's you I'm going to spend my life with"

Ed stresses, “It’s you I’m going to spend the rest of my life with – I’m serious about that – so that’s why I want to get this right. There’s something wrong if we have to keep secrets from each other, and a baby is not the answer.

"We have to both work it out"

“We have to both work it out before bringing another person into this mess!”

"I'm scared I shall lose you"

Sioned answers that she does not want to deceive him, but she is sometimes scared she will lose him. “I’m not going anywhere,” he assures her, “I love you, Sioned! Can we try and be straight with each other from now on?”

She agrees she wants everything to be right,

"Come on – before the pharmacy closes!"

and says, “Come on – before the pharmacy closes!”

"The CCTV is playing up again!"

Gethin receives an alert on his phone from the garage CCTV; he tells Jim that there have been several recently, and confidently predicts it has been triggered by a fly.

"The fly can wait half an hour!"

Jim is about to buy another round, so Gethin concludes, “The fly can wait half an hour!”

Eifion emphasises what an asset he is to the farm

Eifion works out that he has made £3,000 for Penrhewl in one day; “Cadno will be proud of me! Thank goodness I’m here, and not only to look after the business!” he brags, and much to DJ’s displeasure, he continues, “You almost killed Cadno, and could have killed Bobi too – you’re not fit to be in charge of a wheelbarrow!

"You know you're not good enough for her!"

“You know you’re not good enough for her – Cadno wanted me when she woke up – and you know why!”

"Go on – say that again!"

Pinning Eifion against the wall, DJ, who is wielding a large Stillson wrench, challenges him to say that again.

"We're over the worst now!"

Still sitting in the car, Hywel remarks that Esther seemed happy, so the foster parents are looking after her; “It’s only a matter of time now – we’re over the worst. It’s only a formality, waiting for the police report.”

"They might send her back to Uganda"

Sheryl is less confident; “They might send her back to Uganda – and what if I’m charged?”

Out they come with Esther again

Then they see the couple come out again with Esther, and they get back into the car.

They drive off, and Sheryl tries to give chase . . .

As it drives away, Sheryl manages to reach across and unlock the doors; she jumps out and runs after the car, shouting, “Esther!” at the top of her voice.
