11 May 2016

"Can't wait to see you!"
Once again, Sheryl is speaking on the phone;  “Hi, it’s me – I’m excited too!   I’ve booked the taxi and I’m throwing the last few things in the case.   Can’t wait to see you!”
"I've ironed a few shirts"
When Hywel comes in she tells him she has ironed a few of his shirts, and adds, “It was your choice to sleep in the spare room last night.
He considers one of her dresses too posh, but she replies, “I’m sure we’ll go out for a meal in Kampala,”
"Who is 'we', then?"
and when Hywel queries the ‘we’, she explains, “The staff from the school – they’re picking me up at the airport.”
"Have you met someone?"
“Anyone else waiting for you out here?   Have you met someone?” he asks;  she is initially silent,
"Dani's waiting for me"
then says Dani is waiting for her at the salon.
"What was that?"
Mark is asleep on the sofa when there is a knocking at the door;
"Who's there?"
he warily asks, “Who’s there?   What do you want?”
Jeff, next door, has some information
A voice from outside informs him it is Jeff from next door, and that in response to Mark’s pamphlet, he saw someone at the relevant time.   “Right, you’d better come in,” says Mark.
"Biology revision today"
Courtney tells Eifion that she and Elliw are doing Biology revision;
"I'm going to the rugby club"
he is off to prepare the pitch at the rugby club for next season, and warns her she will have to make her own meal.
"Would you like to come over?"
As soon as he is out of the door, Courtney phones Mathew;  “Are you busy tonight?   Would you like to come over?” and she announces to Elliw, “He’s on his way over!”   Elliw was under the impression she was helping with revision,
"I want you to do my makeup!"
but Courtney insists, “Yes, I want you to help do my makeup!”
"Are you going to . . . you know?"
“What are you going to do – seduce him?” Elliw enquires, then adds, “You are, aren’t you?   Are you going to . . . you know?”
"He is lovely!"
Courtney enthuses that they had a great time over the weekend, and that he is lovely.   “You are going to be careful, aren’t you?
"You don't want to end up like me!"
You don’t want to end up like me!” warns Elliw.   Courtney insists that she knows what she is doing.
"What?   You're going tonight?"
Dani is furious about Sheryl’s news;  “What?   You’re going tonight?   I can’t drop everything to run the salon – its not fair!”
"I can't start until Saturday"
Sheryl asks when she could start running it, and when Dani suggests Saturday, remarks, “That’s no good to me!”
"If I'm no good to you, I'd better leave!"
Dani concludes if she is no good to Sheryl, she might as well leave, and storms out, just as Vicky arrives.
Dani is in a tearing hurry
Dani bumps into Mark as she hurries up the street;  “I was just talking about you!” says Mark, but she is already heading for the Deri.   Ed asks what is going on, and Mark tells him,
"Dani tried to frame me!"
“It was her – she tried to frame me.   I know it sounds ridiculous, but a bloke from the estate came to see me.
"Young woman, pretty, with blonde hair"
He saw someone hanging round the night that mobile was planted at the house – a young woman, pretty, with blonde hair.”
"She's not the only pretty blonde round here!"
Sioned comments, She’s not the only pretty blonde round here – there’s one in front of you!”   He is insistent that he could still be in prison because of her, and Sioned suggests that they should discuss this in private.
"I shall juts have to close the salon!"
Sheryl has had no success contacting Dani;  “I have to leave for the airport in an hour – I shall have to close the salon, and I don’t know when I shall be back.”
"What about my job?"
Vicky is unimpressed at losing her job there, and Sheryl tells her,
"Blame Dani!"
“If Dani was not so unreasonable, I wouldn’t have to close – so blame her!”
Hywel appreciates that he is an outsider
As Sheryl stands, thinking, by the window, she is seen by Hywel from outside.
Elliw tells them to enjoy themselves
Courtney is all made up, impressing Mathew when he arrives;  after Elliw has left them to it,
"Know any good drinking games?"
Courtney suggests, “I thought we could stay in – know any good drinking games?”
"I'm sure I can think of one or two!"
and produces a bottle of vodka.   Mathew is sure he can think of one or two.
In the shop storeroom, Ed surmises that Mark thinks Dani topped Dewi;
"Someone went too far"
“No, I don’t think she killed him – she just got someone to go round and teach him a lesson, but they went too far,” Mark explains,
"It was all part of the plan!"
“And she persuaded me to go to the police to admit I’d been there.   I thought she was worried about me, but it was all part of the plan!”
"So all she had to do was plant the phone!"
Sioned encourages him;  “So all she had to do was plant the phone in your house and wait for the police to find it!”   Mark points out that Dani was off like a shot when he tried to talk to her earlier, and that he is going to prove it.
Ed warns that he cannot accuse Dani, or Garry will be after him, but Mark is determined he will be careful.
"He'll soon realise he's wrong"
When Mark has gone, Ed tells Sioned, “Once he opens his big mouth to Dani, it won’t be long before he realises he’s wrong.”
"We'll be safe"
Sioned assures him that if they lead Mark up the garden path, he will never work out the truth – and they will be safe.
"S is being unreasonable!"heryl
Vicky goes to the Deri to demand of Dani why she will not run the salon;  “It’s not my problem – Sheryl is being unreasonable!” Dani replies.
"What about my Nicky?"
Vicky points out she has Nicky to consider.
Dani sympathises with Hywel
Dani goes over to Hywel and comments, “If I were Sheryl’s partner, I’d be propping up the bar, too!   Not going with her this time?”
"She does exactly what she wants!"
He complains that she does exactly what she wants.   Dani resolves, “Well, I’m not going to let her treat me like a doormat – even if you are!”
They are really getting stuck in to this vodka
Courtney and Mathew are knocking back the vodka, which they find tastes quite horrible.   Courtney asks, “Have you ever fancied a school teacher?”   He seem to regard this question with distaste,
"Kiss me!"
then she says, “Kiss me!”
. . . and he willingly does so
and he readily complies with this request.
"Dani doesn't know what's on Mark's mind"
In the Deri Sioned and Ed are talking about Mark when he comes in and stands by the bar, eyeing Dani nearby.
Ed has a taxi job to do
Ed has to leave to take Sheryl to the airport, but Sioned is confident she can handle Mark.
Mark fixes his sights on Dani . . .
As Mark starts to move towards Dani,
. . . but is ambushed by Sioned
suddenly Sioned is there between them;
"You don't want to make a fool of yourself"
“Don’t you think we should find more evidence?   Just bide your time – you don’t want to make a fool of yourself,
"No, perhaps you're right"
like you did when you accused Dai!”
"You have to cancel that ticket!"
In the salon flat, Hywel sits down and demands, “You have to cancel that ticket!   You’re not going!”   She accuses him of being unreasonable, and is reluctant to have another argument.   He grabs her passport.
"You're behaving like a child!"
“You’re behaving like a child!” she says, and takes it back.   He just wants to know one thing;  why is she going back so soon and so suddenly.
"Meilyr's still in your eyes every time I look at you"
Sheryl answers, “You were right – things have not been the same between us since I got back.   Meilyr’s in your eyes every time I look at you.   You still think it’s your fault.   You can’t carry on like this – we can’t!
"It's time to move on"
“I know I should have discussed it with you, but that would mean wasting more time.   If I don’t go tonight, I won’t get another chance.   It’s time to move on.”
"I can't promise to wait for you"
Hywel warns her, “If you walk out of that door, I can’t promise to be here, waiting for you.”   She insists that what she is doing is for both their sakes.
Mathew is making a meal of it, when . . .
Courtney and Mathew are getting somewhat passionate when suddenly he find himself being hauled off her;
"What the hell is going on?"
“What the hell is going on?” thunders Eifion, trying to manhandle Mathew out of the house.
Courtney protests that Mathew coming over – and the vodka – was her idea.
"You're drunk!"
Eifion shouts, “You’re drunk!”
Then he turns to Mathew;  “Out now!   I’d do a lot more than throw you out if you weren’t family!”
"Sorry if I overreacted!"
After ejecting him, Eifion takes a moment and a few deep breaths to calm down.   “Sorry if I overreacted!   I had a shock, and thought he was taking advantage of you.   Did you really want to? – here, drunk, on the sofa?”
"You're just like everyone else!"
Courtney is outraged;  “You’re just like everyone else – trying to control everything I do,” she says, and rushes upstairs.
The taxi is ready to leave . . .
As he loads Sheryl’s bags into the taxi, Ed says it is time they were going.
. . . Sheryl looks up at the window . . .
Sheryl looks up at the flat window, but Hywel is not watching;
. . . and Hywel sinks hopelessly into a chair
he sighs and sinks sadly into a chair.
