| Siôn is at a very low ebb |
Siôn, still in his dressing gown, sits on the sofa, his head in his hands, when he hears an urgent knocking on the door.

| "Oh no! They've come to get me!" |
He appears panic-stricken, but then hears Gwyneth’s voice, announcing that she left her keys behind.

| "Have you been hiding in here all day?" |
She asks if he has been hiding there all day.

| "I was worried it was the police!" |
“I was worried it was the police,” he whimpers, “The truth is out!” Gwyneth reassures him that the police are not coming, and that no-one believes Britt. “People will think there’s no smoke without fire,” Siôn insists.

| "You're being paranoid!" |
She points out to him, “If you carry on like this, people will be suspicious. Look at yourself! You haven’t slept a wink over the weekend. Why would the police drag their feet? You could have left the country by now! You’re being paranoid – you stole money from Bethania and gave it back – big deal!”

| "Got a bit out of hand on Friday, didn't it?" |
Colin, worried about Britt, goes to see her; “I haven’t seen you all weekend – it got a bit out of hand on Friday, didn’t it?

| "Was there any truth in what you said?" |
“Was there any truth in what you said about Siôn?”

| "No – I just wanted revenge!" |
She tries to convince him, “No, it was all lies – I wanted revenge for what Siôn did to me! Sorry to disappoint you.” Colin invites her over to the café, or to the quiz at the Deri tomorrow night,

| "I'm too busy with the accounts" |
but she says she is too busy sorting out the chip shop accounts.

| Sioned looks at the calendar . . . |
Sioned looks, puzzled, at her phone, then at the calendar;

| . . . something is troubling her |
it is obvious there is something on her mind.
Gwyneth tells Siôn that their spaghetti bolognese will soon be ready, and that he must eat something;

| "I've just printed this letter" |
he reveals that he has just printed a letter to the Eisteddfod. “I’m going to reject their offer – it’s the right thing to do. I can’t accept an honour I don’t deserve!”

| "You're pressing the self-destruct button!" |
Gwyneth advises, “People will ask questions – you’re pressing the self-destruct button!” He will not change his mind,

| "Go on then – tell the police everything!" |
so she hands him her phone; “All right, do us all a favour! Call the police and tell them everything!” He cannot bring himself to do that, and she reminds him, “Over a year has passed since you stole that money – no-one can live like this! I’m putting the spaghetti on – you can starve if you like!”

| "Will you be quizmaster?" |
Dani is in the café, compiling the pub quiz questions, and asks Debbie to be quizmaster, but she refuses.

Saeed and Catrin are there, and offer to do it, but Dani explains they are too young to be in the Deri until 11:00pm.

| "I'd rather take part in the quiz" |
Her next thought is Colin, but he also turns her down; “I’d rather take part in the quiz,” he tells her,

“There’s a computer the size of Lampeter in here, and it’s good to use it sometimes!”

| Debbie must be seen to be neutral |
Debbie will not put up a flyer objecting to the school closure, as she, a councillor, should be neutral, but Dani offers to display one in the Deri.

| "Is it true you're going to Africa?" |
Hywel comes in and is asked by Dani, “Is it true you’re going to Africa to find Sheryl? Don’t you need loads of injections? I hate needles and injections – and with all the creepie-crawlies, I wouldn’t last a day!”

| "Is it right what Britt said about Siôn?" |
Debbie asks Colin, “How is Britt? Is it right what she said about Siôn? It’s a strange thing to say, if it’s not true!”
| The taxi business is looking up |
Ed tells Sioned that he has had a couple of taxi bookings from the Trimsaran area, so their fame must be spreading; “We can’t take too many bookings, or I’ll never be home!”

Sioned rather hesitantly announces, “I think I’m pregnant!”

Ed is surprised as they have been so ‘careful’, but she asks,

| "Would it be the end of the world if I was?" |
“I haven’t done the test yet, but would it be the end of the world if I was?” Ed counsels that they should wait and see.

| Colin is back, bearing a gift |
Colin again visits Britt, bringing her a treat from the café, and enquires,

| "I want the truth, Britt" |
“Did Siôn steal from the chapel? I want the truth, Britt.” As there is no reply, he continues, “He did, didn’t he?”

Britt nods, and he rages, “The lying toerag! He should be in prison – he won’t get away with this! I’ll help you get justice.”
Britt is determined that Colin should pretend he does not know anything; “It’s in the past, and I want to forget it!”

She gets him to swear he will not do anything stupid.

| "Hang on – I haven't drunk my tea!" |
Then, just as he is about to take a sip of the tea she has made, she tells him to go home.

| Captivated by the television |
Dol and Stacey are sitting in front of the television;

| "I wouldn't give up – I'd fight!" |
“If I was still in love with someone, I wouldn’t give up – I’d fight!” exclaims Dol. Stacey simply wants to watch the programme, but Dol has plenty of advice for her; “You know it’s all going to go wrong with Hywel and Sheryl. All you’ve got to do is be there waiting, when it all goes kaput! You’ve got to be indispensible!”

Stacey insists she does not want to make a mess of her life, in the same way Dol has.

Sioned walks in and faces Ed, without a word; then he speaks, “It’s positive, isn’t it?”

and she nods, not knowing what to say. As she disposes of the test equipment in Eileen’s kitchen bin,

“You want to get rid of it, don’t you?” asks Sioned, “That’s what is going through your mind.”

Ed explains that it is not the way they had planned it, but is not the same as wanting to get rid of it.

In the Deri, Debbie suggests that Britt made a mistake with her allegation against Siôn, as he could sue her; “She’s nuts enough to make it all up!”

Colin is adamant he will not let her ‘badmouth’ his friend, and is so upset that he leaves his pint hardly touched and exits the pub.

Siôn, alone in Y Felin, is praying, “I’ve asked for forgiveness, Lord, many times, and yet You’re not ready to forgive me, although I regret it, although I know I’m a sinner. Why can’t I move on?

“I’m pleading with You, Lord, forgive me!”

Britt is becoming exasperated with Colin’s continual visits;

“Don’t push me away – I understand how much you’ve been hurt, and that you don’t want to talk about the money that Siôn stole,” he says, and Britt warns him to keep his voice down as the children are nearby.

| "I want you to come to the quiz with me" |
He tells her he has just been to the Deri, and has had a chance to ponder; “I want you to come to the quiz there with me tomorrow night. You need to start facing people again.” Britt agrees, on condition there is not another word about the money. Colin leaves, as she is about to serve dinner.

Stacey has been helping Hywel at CwmFM, and when they adjourn to the Deri, she asks if he wants her to run the station while he is away. “I have no experience with a radio station, but I ran a successful business, and I’m ready to learn!”

Siôn has now changed his tune; “You were right – the police would have come by now. I asked many times for forgiveness for stealing the chapel’s money, but it still hangs over me like a dark cloud.

“Now I understand that if I believe in God’s ability to forgive sins, I have to be the embodiment of that, and move on. To show that Jesus came to earth to die for pitiful sinners like me.

“God has given me the chance to move on – if He wanted me arrested, He would have sent the police, but He didn’t! It’s not prison that really matters, but God’s law!

Gwyneth is relieved; “Well done, God, I say! Someone has brought you to your senses.”

At Maes-y-Deri, three boxes of chips are being eaten in silence;

“Dol comments, “Stick the telly on, Mark – I’d have more laughs with a lump of cheese! There’s no point in moping, Stace – he didn’t take the bait this time, but there’s more than one way to hook Hywel!”

Stacey remembers her multi-million business a few months ago, and wants something better than Awyr Iach. Dol advises, “If you want it, go for it!”

as she helps herself to some of Mark’s chips, “Get a grip and do something about it!”

Ed has a phone call to cancel the Narberth stag night trip, as the groom’s father has died.

Sioned, rather subdued, begins, “Listen, I haven’t been straight with you . . .”

He interrupts, “I know – you’re happy about the baby, and why shouldn’t you be? It’s my fault for being so negative – there was always a chance it could happen. It’s not perfect timing, but there never is an ideal time. It’s up to us to make sure things turn out OK – no, better than OK!
