Iolo is making a curry
Iolo is in the process of preparing a curry, which Tyler requires to be not too hot;
They appear more friendly than of late
Colin sees their relaxed mood and asks,
"I don't want to appear nosy, but . . ."
“I don’t want to appear nosy, but are you two . . . er . . . you know – together?”
"What makes you think that?"
Tyler sternly replies, “What makes you think that?” which embarrasses Colin,
Then they admit the truth
but then they admit that yes, they are now an item.   Colin comments that he is a better catch than Wiliam, and leaves for the shop.
"The Cwmderi jungle drums have been at it again!"
Sam goes to Anita’s;  “Is it true you’re coming to work in Awyr Iach?” she enquires, “I’m looking forward to spending more time with you.”   Sam realises the Cwmderi jungle drums have been at it again.   Anita wants to know where she stands with him;
"Are we courting, or what?"
“Are we courting, or what?   The odd date once in a while is neither one thing nor the other!”
"I'll come round this evening"
He agrees to come over this evening for a chat.
Llinos signs the petition . . .
By the shop, Llinos signs the petition,
. . . then Mark
followed by Mark.   Colin is told what it is all about, and adds his signature,
"Iolo and Tyler are an item"
then he tells Mark, “I’ve just heard that Iolo and Tyler are an item.   Iolo hasn’t had much luck lately, but nobody has had a harder time than you.”
"I'm making a fresh start"
Mark replies that there is no point dwelling on it, and that he is making a fresh start.
"Well – what do you think?"
Later, Sam delivers the dress he collected to Dol, and she insists he stays.
"I'm waiting for you"
Meanwhile, Anita is becoming impatient waiting for him, and phones;
"And I'm trying to get away"
she is rather put out when he says he is at Dol’s, trying to get away, and will be there as soon as he can.
Britt wants headache tablets
Britt is doing her shopping, and Colin remarks that Catrin was there earlier with her friend;  “She’s so polite – you’ve got a good girl there!”
"Unlike her brother!"
Britt glumly answers, “Unlike her brother,” and appears to be about to burst into tears.
"Right – I'm making you a cup of tea!"
Colin takes her into the storeroom and makes a cup of tea for her.
"I heard about you, lads!"
As Iolo and Tyler walk into the Deri, Mark congratulates them;
"The whole of Cwmderi knows!"
“Thanks to Colin, the whole of Cwmderi knows!” grumbles Iolo, “I don’t want to be the subject of gossip!   Can’t we just be together without attracting attention?”
"What happened to the bike ride?"
Then he asks Hywel about the bike ride;  Hywel replies,
"You could arrange one"
“Nobody turned up – except Stacey.   I don’t have the time – you could arrange one.”   Iolo prefers doing something different and exciting, and Tyler suggests boxing;  “I know a few people I’d like to punch!” comments Hywel, with feeling.
"I'm trying to keep out of trouble
Tyler asks Mark if he is up for some boxing;  “I’m trying to keep out of trouble!” is the reply.
"Let's go back to Maes-y-Deri!"
Stacey proposed that she and Hywel have a takeaway and go to Maes-y-Deri;  as he goes to have a word with Dan behind the bar, Mark gives her a stern warning,
"You're playing with fire, Stace!"
“You’d better stay out of his way – you’re playing with fire!   You know I’m right!”
Colin sympathises with Britt
Colin sympathises that divorces are not easy for the children.
"I wish Siôn had gone to Newport"
Britt complains, “It would have been easier if Siôn had gone to Newport as planned – he only helps when it suits him, and that makes matters worse with Chester.   I hope life will get better now Chester is going to see someone –
"I get all the mood swings!"
but I bet he’ll be an angel with the therapist.   I get all the mood swings!”
Colin remembers the mood swings of Izzy and Lois at that age – angels one minute and little devils the next.   Britt admits, “I look at Chester and wonder how he turned out like this.   I always tried to put the children first.   I’ve been working so hard, I haven’t had a thing to eat since early this morning.”
"I'll make you a sandwich"
Colin offers to make her a sandwich, but she has to go and attend to the accounts for the chippy.
Sam has been doing some DIY
Sam has done some job on the sink at Maes-y-Deri;
Dol produces a pizza . . .
Dol puts pressure on him not to go, as she gets a pizza out of the oven.
. . . but they are disturbed
She is about to open a bottle of red wine when Hywel and Stacey come in, expecting an empty house.
Stacey snatches the bottle, pointing out that it is hers;
"I'd better be going, then!"
Sam thinks this an ideal opportunity to take his leave.   “Hywel and I have some work to discuss – and we want some peace and quiet!” Stacey rather pointedly informs Dol,
Dol, incredulous at being given a tenner
and gives her a £10 note, “Buy yourself a drink!”   Dol rushes off with the money
"Make yourself at home, Hywel"
and Stacey invites Hywel to make himself at home.
"I managed to escape at last!"
“I managed to escape at last – she wouldn’t let me leave!” Sam tells Anita when he finally reaches number 10.
"If you prefer to spend your time with Dol . . ."
Anita is not happy;  “We had a date – remember?   If you prefer to spend your time with Dol, off you go – don’t let me stop you!”   He maintains that this is where he wants to be, and that he thinks the world of her.
"I don't like sharing you with Dol!"
Her reaction is, “You’ve got a funny way of showing it!   I don’t like sharing you with Dol.”
Sam explains he is out of practice
Sam admits he is not good with things like this, as he has not been in a relationship since Dilys, and Anita agrees that she is in the same position, since the death of Meic.
Historic photo of Hywel and Stacey (with Dyff)
Hywel and Stacey are looking at old photos of themselves;  she remembers the look on her Mam’s face when she found out about them.
This was when he was a teacher and she a pupil
“And the school governors!” laughs Hywel.   Stacey would love to be like that again, when they did what they liked, when they liked.
"Could it have worked for us?"
“Do you think things would have worked out for us if we’d tried harder?” she asks.   Hywel replies that there will always be something between them, and he would not want to change that.
Stacey has a rather amorous look about her
Then he remarks critically on the dead cat she appears to be wearing on her head in the photo.
Her impetuous action . . .
Stacey leans over and kisses him, but receives an unwelcome rebuff;  “Stacey!   I think we’ve had too much to drink!
. . . is not appreciated by Hywel
You’ve misunderstood – that’s not what I had in mind.   I enjoy your company as a friend, nothing more –
Stacey feels rather an idiot . . .
I can’t betray Sheryl!   I still love her.”   Thus saying, he gets up and leaves,
. . . and bursts into tears
while Stacey looks rather tearful.
"You don't want to tell anyone?"
When they arrive back at number 7, Tyler asks, “So you want us to be a couple without telling anyone?”
"I want to know where I stand"
Iolo insists that he wants to be sure that it is what they want;  “I want to know where I stand – is this a bit of fun, like Volcano?   I just want to know.”
Symbolic deletion of the Volcano app from the iPhone
Tyler gets out his iPhone and symbolically deletes the Volcano app from it;
"I'm committed to you"
“That means I’m committed to you, and don’t want to meet anyone else.   I want to go on a date whenever we fancy.”
Iolo is happier than for ages
Iolo is reassured and hugs him.
"You would have liked Meic"
“I think you would have liked Meic,” Anita tells Sam, “He enjoyed being outdoors – and fishing.”   Sam has heard that he was a character and is hugely missed.   Anita asks what Dilys was like,
Sam has a photo of Dilys
so Sam shows her a photo in his wallet.
"She had to put up with a lot"
“She was quite a woman!” he recalls, “She had to put up with a lot – it’s not easy living with a sailor – she had the patience of a saint!   We had  a great life together.”
Anita confesses that little things constantly remind her of Meic;  Sam says, “Memories follow us wherever we go.   Do you know what’s good about memories?   You can create new ones!”
Anita looks quite pleased
He gently kisses Anita, and she appears very happy.
The Fly for Less website again
In the Deri, Hywel is looking at the Fly for Less website;  he takes out his phone and leaves a message for Sheryl.
"I'm coming out to see you!"
“Hi, Sheryl, it’s me.   I’m coming out to see you – phone me back!”
Hywel feels some satisfaction
He sits back and looks quite pleased with himself.
