Iolo is on the phone; “I just want to know how she is,” he says, “ I know I’m not family, but it is something to do with me – I’m part of the case.”
Tyler has just come in; “I take it they won’t tell you anything about Mel?”

Iolo knows that they agreed to forget about her, but he worries about her.

| "You've done all you can" |
“You’ve done what you can, and you can’t do any more,” Tyler assures him.
“I was going to tell you that you always come first,

| "Prison is going to be hard for her" |
“but I just know that prison is going to be hard for her,” continues Iolo; Tyler points out that prison is supposed to be hard, as he looks for the books he was marking last night.

Iolo has tidied them up, and asks, “We’re OK, aren’t we? You’re not angry, are you? I promise not to talk about her again – and I’ll make a nice meal for us tonight.”

Outside Anita’s door, Sam arrives with a van filled with cases of alcohol;

he tells Anita, “Bottle of vintage wine – £50 in the shops, £10 to you!”

| Anita doubts the legality of this venture |
She wonders why she gets the impression that this is not legal. “I might be breaking a few rules,” he admits, “But would a few bottles of champagne ease your conscience?”

Kelly calls Colin over; “Looks what your Dad’s got here!” Colin reprimands Sam, who replies that it was too good a chance to miss.

At Penrhewl, Cadno is sorting out the paperwork, which is being taken to the accountants next week. Eifion tells her, “The meeting last night was a lot of talking about nothing – DJ was there, but he shouldn’t have bothered.

“He has nothing to offer – he’s a loser!”

| "He hasn't done anything to you!" |
Cadno confesses she has called DJ worse, but he has done nothing to Eifion.

| Tyler tells Dani |
Tyler goes to see Dani, who accuses him of always having free lessons and long holidays. He breaks the news, “I shopped Mel to the police – she was breaking her bail terms and taking advantage of Iol.

| "I feel so guilty" |
“I feel so guilty – he has just been on the phone to the police, asking about her. She is all he has on his mind.”
Dani asks what he is going to do about it, as the truth always comes out in the end, as she knows from experience.

| "Don't let this come between you" |
“Don’t let this come between you,” she advises, but Tyler predicts that if he does tell Iolo, that is exactly what will happen.

| Kelly wants to try out a bottle |
Kelly goes to number 7 with one of Sam’s bottles, asking if Iolo wants to start the weekend early. “I’m not in the mood,”

he replies, “You’ll probably think I’m paranoid, but I’m scared that I’ve pushed Tyler away. He heard me talking to the police, asking how Mel is, and I know he’s angry.”

Kelly appreciates that he cares, but reminds him that Tyler comes first. “We have this connection,” says Iolo, and Kelly looks disbelieving as he continues, “I understand her – she’s gay, I’m the only one who knows, and she’s struggling!”
“You’ve got to prove that Tyler comes first,” is Kelly’s advice,

“You need a big romantic gesture – there’s a gorgeous place just opened in Llanelli, and I might be able to get you a table. I gave them a two-page spread, and they owe me a favour.”

Sam comes to the shop to apologise to Colin and assure him that all the bottles will go back, and that only he, Anita and Kelly know.

This is immediately disproved as Iolo comes in and says, “I hear you’ve got some cheap beer – a van full!”

Sam denies it, and says it is all going back. Colin warns his father that this does not make everything all right.

At Penrhewl, Cadno receives a call from DJ,

and wonders whether to answer it; when she does,

| "Look out of your bedroom window" |
she is told to look out of her bedroom window, which she finds a strange request.

She goes upstairs, followed by Eifion, and looks out.

She sees the words ‘Marry me’ writ large upon the grass outside,

together with the smartly-dressed DJ holding a box containing a ring.

She rushes outside, again followed by Eifion, and demands, “Do you think the best way to get me back is by destroying our land?”

When Eifion starts to have his say, Cadno tells him to go.

“Why now?” she asks, “Why not weeks ago, when I needed you?”

| "I can't live without you!" |
DJ pleads that he now knows what it is like to live without her and he cannot stand it. She goes on, “It’s harder in hospital, trying to work out what I did wrong – why leave?

“Was it too much hassle to look after me? I was scared about what would happen to me and the boys. I needed you – and you broke my heart!”

She turns and walks away.

When Iolo returns home, with flowers and Tyler’s favourite cake, Kelly confesses that she was too cocky, thinking she could get them a table, and suggests instead they could go to Cwm Delhi for a curry.

“You could blindfold Tyler, so when he walks in, he sees you with a rose between your teeth!” although she concedes this last part may be going too far.
Iolo will get Dani to pretend to make plans with Tyler,

and urges Kelly to stop watching so many ‘chick flicks’. Kelly explains, “I’ve opened this bottle, and the creative ideas are flowing!”

Sam tells Anita that he has informed Colin all the bottles are going back, but cannot turn his back on a fortune like this.

“It doesn’t take a genius to work out you want to store them here,” concludes Anita, and agrees his request

in return for 30% of the profits, which Sam manages to beat down to 25%.

Along the street, Dani is on the phone, “Why make so much fuss over a curry?” she asks, “OK, I’ll make sure he’s there.”

Inside the farmhouse, Cadno looks at the ring and admits, “It’s exactly what I would have chosen. I’m sure the New Zealand girls will comfort you!”

He protests that she is the one he loves, but she continues, “You’ve got a strange way of showing it – you didn’t contact me for weeks.”

He argues that he did send a postcard, but confesses that the way he treated her was unforgivable.
Cadno tells him, “I thought I had found someone special who would never hurt me – but you made a fool of me! It’s too late– I can’t marry you, not now, not ever!”

She hands back the ring.

| Dani tells Tyler the whole story |
Dani spills the beans to Tyler that Iolo has set up a special date to show that he comes first; he has no choice but to tell the truth. “You can’t just sit there and listen to him saying how guilty he feels. You’ve got ten minutes – please do the right thing!”

Anita’s living room is full of bottles; “What do I say if Megan comes round?” she frets, but Sam assures her they will not be here long, and he is about to prepare dinner.

DJ arrives, having heard that they are selling cheap booze, and takes away a bottle of whisky to drown his sorrows.

Iolo waits in Cwm Delhi, and when Tyler comes in, looking completely unsurprised, he realises that Dani has revealed all.

Iolo begins, “I wanted to show how grateful I am – I realise it has not been easy lately. I want you to know I realise I haven’t been the best boyfriend, but from now on, I’ll be like a different man!”

Tyler looks very dejected, and announces, “I can’t do this – it was me! I reported Mel to the police.

| "She attacked you!" |
She attacked you and I was trying to protect you – and us.”

| "The whole time I was right!" |
Iolo is devastated; “I’ve been feeling terrible for accusing you – and the whole time I was right! The pain of being attacked is nothing to what I’m feeling now!”
Eifion insists, “You can’t marry a man who has no respect for our land.”

Cadno makes it clear that it is her land, and nothing to do with him. She asks if he saw a postcard from DJ,

and he confirms that he threw it away, as it would have upset her.
“You had no right to read it,” rages Cadno, “My personal life is nothing to do with you! I’ll decide what’s important, not you!” He warns her not to take out her frustrations about DJ on him, as all he has done is to be there when she has needed him.

Cadno is adamant; “I never needed you – and I never will! I don’t need any man – I’m better off on my own!”

At Bryntirion, DJ, who is getting through the whisky,

looks at the ring, with tears in his eyes,

then flings it across the room.

| "She's scared of what people will say!" |
Iolo insists, “She’s gay, scared of her feelings, scared of what people will say!”

Tyler asks him if he honestly believes that, maintaining that Meleri would say anything to save her skin, and accuses Iolo of supporting homophobes. “Things are not supposed to be this difficult,” groans Tyler, “I tried to be patient, and now you know, there is no need for me to feel guilty.

“I’ve had enough!” He slams down his ring on the table and storms out,
