DJ suggests to Cadno that if Dai and Diane are coming to dinner, Sara and Jason might as well come too. “A family meal,” he tells her, but Cadno points out she is not a member of the family. “You will be after tonight!” jokes DJ,

and Siôn takes this to mean they are getting engaged. Cadno rapidly disabuses him of this misconception.

As Dai boasts that he has had another e-mail from Sir Dave, Jason has had the invitation by phone.

Sara is not keen to go, maintaining that she has a lot of work to do, but eventually she grudgingly agrees.
Eileen goes to Angela’s, worried about what the test results might be; “You might have inherited it from your father,” she tells Angela,

who glibly replies that she has already contacted him, and he is clear.
“It’s easier to be honest with someone not so close,” she adds, rather gratuitously,

and Eileen is hurt, warning that she cannot support her daughter if she is not open and honest. Angela simply walks away.

“Happy birthday,” says Hywel, handing a card to Sheryl, “As I didn’t know what you wanted, I’ve booked a table at Y Glyndwr.”

Sheryl responds with, “You know very well what I want, but you won’t agree to it!” He says that he is not going to change his mind, he has responsibilities he will not shirk, and questions how they can afford this trip.

“Our savings are for emergencies, not travelling around the world!” says Hywel, so Sheryl phones to cancel the table, stressing that she does not feel like celebrating.

Sara has some house details from Tomos ac Ellis, and as she sits in the café with Jason, Angela asks, “Are you thinking of moving?” Sara replies that she wants to do so as soon as possible. “So are we!” states Angela,

much to Eifion’s surprise.
“We won’t be competing for the same houses,” Angela assures her, “I think we’re looking for something bigger!”

Eifion decides to join in, suggesting they might go for Y Felin, which is bound to be on the market now Siôn and Britt have split up.

| Sheryl's enthusiasm knows no bounds |
Sheryl continues to work on Hywel; looking at the laptop, she says, “I feel I know these people already – most have no parents and no education.

“Without this charity, they would have to live on the street.”
“You’re not going to be able to save every orphan in Africa!” Hywel protests, but she tells him she will be content if she can just help one child.

“You’re not going to get rid of our problems by trying to sort other people’s out,” he tells her.
As Angela leaves the café, she wishes Sara good luck.

Jim, who has just come in, warns her to watch what she says about Angela, who has got a lot on her mind.
When Sara has gone, allegedly to collect something from home, Jason remarks to Jim,

“Angela must have a lot on her mind with this moving business!” Jim looks surprised, telling him that nothing is further from her mind at the moment.

Siôn is mulling over a knotty translation problem when Sara arrives and comes straight to the point;

“If you and Britt are getting divorced, if you’re thinking of selling Y Felin, I’d like to buy it!” Siôn tells her it is not for sale, but this does not stop her; “You wouldn’t need an estate agent, so you’d save a fortune – but selling the place would help you to move on.”

“I can’t believe you’ve got the nerve to come here and try to buy my home!” Siôn rages, “It’s not for sale to you or anyone else! Just leave, will you?”

Later, Dai, Jason and Sara are welcomed to Penrhewl by Marian;

Dai assures them that while Diane is not well, the food will not go to waste. He tells DJ, “Diane and Sara have been at each other’s throats all day!”

Meanwhile, Sara is expressing to Jason her displeasure that Siôn rejected her offer to buy Y Felin; he wonders why she did not mention this to him.

“Why are you being so impulsive?” he demands,

| "I can't wait to get out of Bryntirion!" |
and she explains she is desperate to move out of Bryntirion.
“Why have money in the bank if we don’t use it?” asks Sheryl, “I can’t think of a better way to spend the money than to visit Wil and help people less fortunate. I really believe we should do it – in memory of Meilyr – it’s the only thing I’ve been thinking about.

Hywel’s opposition appears to be finally crumbling; “If this is really what you have to do, I’ll phone Colin and Gwyneth to see if they can cover. I’d do anything for you.”

She hugs him and pronounces this the best birthday ever.

Jim arrives home late, exhausted after eight hours of sanding the floor of the Deri flat. Eileen is dreading the test results tomorrow, but whatever they reveal, Angela will remain ill; “I’ve already lost her once, I don’t want to lose her again!”

Marian goes off to bed, while the dinner is in full swing;

Sara is consuming more alcohol than is good for her, and when Jason tries to stop her, she moans, “Don’t tell me what to do! If you had your way, we’d be living with your mother until we’re sixty!

“I mustn’t come between Mam and her golden boy! I thought we could buy Y Felin, but Jason’s just not interested – he’s happy being mollycoddled at Bryntirion!”

Dai is just relieved they are looking for their own place; “We’re packed like sardines at Bryntirion!” he exaggerates.
Sara continues, “If I was pregnant, he’d be more than happy to look for a place to live.”

Jason tries to stop her pouring another one, but fails. Jason has had enough and goes to phone for a taxi, but Dai objects; he wants his pudding.

Jason actually calls Jim for a lift home, which does not go down very well.

| Angela is determined to go ahead |
Eifion asks Angela, “Are you serious about moving house? Moving is stressful at the best of times, never mind in your condition.” She is determined that this is not going to stop her living her life.

“That’s why I want to move as soon as possible, in case the condition gets worse. As they say, ‘Hope for the best, plan for the worst’.” Eifion agrees to do all he can to make things as easy as possible;

he opens the laptop and starts a search for their dream property.

As dessert is served at Penrhewl, Sara is still going on, accusing Jason of going running to his mother, and needing to grow up. “No wonder I don’t want children, when you behave like one!”
Dai is getting tired of this; “Put a sock in it, or you’ll be sorry when you’re sober!”

Flailing her arms around, she tells him to be quiet, and sends her dessert flying across the table.
At this moment Jim walks in and comments enthusiastically, “This is what I call a party!” Amid profuse apologies, Jason shepherds Sara out of the door, while Jim says, “That trifle looks nice!” Dai points out that it is actually Eton Mess, which tickles Jim;

Cadno concludes, “Thank goodness we don’t share a house with them! That Sara’s a bit of a madam!” DJ reckons that all women are like that if they do not get their own way.

Hand in hand, they head upstairs.

Angela thinks she is on to a good thing when Eifion finds some lovely houses; “Courtney will be so excited when she hears,” Angela purrs,

“That’s why I want to make this investment in her future – I don’t know what’s ahead of me, but I want to know that Courtney will be all right. I have to suffer, and I have no choice,
