| "Sorry, I'm too busy!" |
Ffion goes to the garage to ask Gethin to look after Arwen while she has lunch with the girls in the Deri; he regrets that he is much too busy, and has hardly seen Garry there lately.
"I'll look after her for you"
At that moment Cadno arrives with the boys, having brought her pick-up for repairs, and offers to have Arwen. “You can have the boys tomorrow, while I go to the market,” she suggests; Ffion is only too pleased to agree, and Cadno heads to the café, promising the children beans and chips.
"Avoid being a skivvy for the rest of your life!"
Ffion sees Chester cleaning the chippy windows and tells him, “That’s why it’s a good idea to come back to school – to avoid being a skivvy for the rest of your life!”
"What's wrong with cleaning windows?"
Chester takes exception to this; “What’s wrong with cleaning windows?” he demands, “Mam does it all the time,” and he goes back inside.

Loan application form
As Jim has his lunch, he notices the paperwork for a bank loan, which Eileen has completed.
| A box of home-made scones |
She then comes in, with some scones that Marian has made; Jim asks about the loan, and why she did not mention it to him. “We could be repaying that loan for years!”
Eileen is not worried about the money
Eileen insists that the money means nothing to her; “Angela could die, and I’d give my last penny to make sure she doesn’t!”
| "It's a joint account" |
Jim points out that theirs is a joint account, but she replies, “Some support from you would help more than arguing! You’re too tight with your money!”
Cadno has a call from DJ
Cadno is in the café with the three children, who are enjoying their food; then she has a phone call from DJ, who has run out of disinfectant at Penrhewl. Cadno asks Debbie to keep an eye on the children for a minute while she slips to APD. Debbie objects to this, but her protests fall on deaf ears.

Capten Sam's t-shirt
At Llwyncelyn, Colin brings Sam a present from Lois, a t-shirt bearing the words ‘CAPTEN SAM’.
| "Iolo is a lovely lad" |
Sam remarks that Iolo is a lovely lad, but Colin asks, “Why did you have to question him about our relationship?”
Sam enquires, “Why didn’t you tell me you were gay? I’d understand if you wanted me to keep quiet for the girls, but they have no problem with Auntie Yvonne. You don’t have to hide it – it’s OK!”
| "I am not gay!" |
Colin, at first just puzzled, emphasises several times that he is not gay.
"Arwen's gone missing!"
Debbie shouts across to Cadno, who is carrying two cans of disinfectant, “Arwen has gone missing! I only turned my back for a second!”
| Gethin hears the bad news |
Gethin has just joined them, and Cadno predicts that she has probably gone home.
"Who planted these stupid ideas in your head?"
Colin continues explaining to his father, “That was not the reason I split up with Gaynor – she was having an affair! Who planted these stupid ideas in your head?” On hearing that Dol started the rumour, he stresses that he is not Dol’s cousin, and that he will be having a stern word with her about the rumour.
Sam points out that Gaynor is also of the same opinion,
| "I am not gay!" |
and Colin replies, “I am not gay, and if you’d stuck around over the years, you’d have known about it!”
Ffion and her friends . . .
As Ffion sits in the Deri with her two friends, she talks about Chester, and the problems she has had with him. One of her friends says they are not there to talk shop, and they are about to order their meal,
| . . . are rudely interrupted by Gethin |
when Gethin rushes in to give her the bad news, so they all hurriedly vacate the pub.
"What have you been telling Dad?"
Gaynor arrives at number 7, demanding why she has been ordered to come; “What exactly have you been telling Dad?” Colin asks, “He’s got the silly idea in his head that I’m gay – it’s not funny, Gaynor!”
"I was just winding Sam up!"
She seems to find the situation highly amusing. “I can’t believe that Sam doubts you just because Dol misunderstood,” she says, “ I was just winding Sam up. Are you really worried what your father thinks? You’re a grown man!
| Colin does not appreciate her humour |
“Why are you getting so wound up? . . . unless there’s some truth in it? You haven’t been out with a woman for ages – and you know how people talk!”
Jim admits that he was just anxious that she did not trust him, and urges her, “You’ve found the treatment – now have a bit of faith!”
Colin tells his troubles to Eileen

"When your ex-wife suspects, it must be true!"
Jim deduces, “When your ex-wife suspects, it must be true!”
| "My love-life is now over!" |
Colin is convinced that his love-life is now finished.
When he has gone, Eileen asks where the bank form has gone, and Jim replies that he posted it for her.
As Ffion paces to and fro, waiting for the police, the buzzer sounds; Gethin tells them to come up;
| Arwen is reunited with her Mam |
Ffion, expecting police officers, is overjoyed when Chester appears, carrying Arwen, whom he found heading towards the park.
| "I don't know how to thank you!" |
“I don’t know how to thank you!” enthuses Ffion.
| This has done a lot for Chester's self-confidence |
To Chester she says, “You, on the other hand, are a star!” while Gaynor and Gethin are full of praise for him.
