| A tea-break for Dai |
Dai is having a break and Dani brings him a cup of tea; “I’ve been up since five,” he moans,

| "The paint fumes have gone to my head!" |
“You never warned me I had to finish this soon – the paint fumes have gone to my head!”
Dani tells him, “If you’d painted it the right colour, it would have helped, but I know what Garry’s like!” She warns Dai that there is no chance of postponing the opening. Britt shouts across that she has arranged cover in the chippy, so she can be there,

| Colin is spying |
and Colin is watching from the door of number 7.
In the café, Kelly shows Dol and Vicky the ring which Anita gave her.

| "Who wants a bet on the colour?" |
Colin comes in, announcing, “I saw Dai outside the Deri, but couldn’t see what colour he had on his overalls – who wants to bet on the colour of the Deri?”

| "How childish!" |
Sara, sitting nearby, complains that some people have nothing better to do; “Who stole your curlers this morning?” enquires Jason. She tells him, in no uncertain terms, that his mother is getting on her nerves.
“I don’t want to come to the café for my breakfast, but it’s better than having her poke her nose into everything,” she grumbles.

| "Why don't we go out tonight?" |
Jason suggests they go out tonight.

| "It's important to get Mark out!" |
Debbie is on the phone, and is surprised that something costs so much, adding, “It’s important to get Mark out!”

| "I've been thinking about going away next week" |
Garry brings Gwern over, asking Gwyneth to take him to school; I’ve been thinking about going away next week,” she says, and Gwern likes the sound of a holiday. “I’ve found a good deal – it will let you and Dani focus on the Deri for a week!”

“Please, Dad!” implores Gwern, so Garry agrees and gives him some spending money. He is hardly out of the door, when another message from Britt arrives;

Gwyneth looks, but then ignores it.

Outside the chip shop, Dani has a quiet conversation with Madge, who agrees to her request. Garry admonishes Dai for taking another break, but Dai insists,

“I’m starting to hallucinate – something in the paint doesn’t agree with me!”
“I’ll be disagreeing with you, if you don’t get a move on,” threatens Garry.

| Siôn comes out of the shop and notices something |
Siôn emerges from the shop, and happens to notice Dai; then Colin comes out and announces,

“It’s 2:1 on pink at the moment, but it could go either way, and Flamingo wallpaper is an outsider.” Siôn looks puzzled, so Colin explains,

then Siôn decides on red. “I can give you good odds on that,” says Colin.

| Vicky and Dol talk about Ed |
Commenting on Ed, Vicky says, “It hasn’t been right between them for a while.” Dol describes him as a lovely boy, who has been looking a bit lost lately, but Vicky maintains he cannot be trusted.

| "I'm going to the pawn shop" |
Debbie is off to the pawn shop, and then will go to the area of Dewi’s house to ask if anyone saw anything.
Vicky is adamant, “That’s the job of the police,” and neither of them will help Debbie.

| "I forgot – the Deri is opening today!" |
At Awyr Iach, Jason had forgotten the opening of the Deri, and reckons it would be good for the business to show their faces there. “I’d rather stick needles in my eyes than watch Garry Monk showing off!” replies Sara, “I was looking forward to spending some time together, and in any case, we can’t close early!”

Jason points out that it will be good for staff morale, and she must be dying to see what the decor is like.
Dol comes in to do the cleaning, and meets Ed by the Deri Deithio office;

“You’re looking for a new woman, I suppose,” she says, subtly, and dismisses his explanation that

| "She's staying with a friend" |
Sioned has gone to stay with a friend. “Debbie’s gone to the pawn shop again, to pay for the solicitor,” she continues, “It’s not looking good for Mark – apparently a witness saw him, covered in blood.”
Sara abruptly reminds her that she is here to clean, not to gossip.

A crowd gathers outside the Deri, and Colin remarks to Kelly, “Look at that ribbon – it’s pink!”

| "Thank you all for coming!" |
Dani addresses the multitude; “Thank you all for coming! Garry and I have worked really hard. I hope you like the place – it won’t be to everybody’s taste, but that’s not my fault!

| "Hurry up – I want a pint!" |
Gwynfor interrupts, “Hurry up – I want a pint!”

| "It's your pub!" |
Garry announces that although they are running the pub now, it is for the people of the village and he hopes that they will have many happy years together.

| "What do you mean, you can't come in?" |
As Dani performs the great unveiling, Britt is at the chippy’s door, being advised on the phone by Madge that she cannot come in for her shift.

| In they all troop |
Dani cuts the pink ribbon, and all the locals file into the Deri; as they look around at the totally different interior, Garry tells them the first drink is on the house.

| At the front of the queue, Dol tries it on |
Dol is first in the queue, asking for, “A pint of vodka!” but she is restricted by Garry to a double.

| "This dump smells worse than APD!" |
Colin is disappointed that Siôn White won, and Sara comments acerbically, “I don’t know what the fuss is about! It looks like it did years ago. It smells of paint and it’s cold – this dump smells worse than APD!” Garry points out there is plenty of fresh air outside.

| Then she has another go at getting a free drink |
Pretending it is her first, Dol tries for another double vodka, but Garry puts a stop to that; Ed volunteers to pay, and Dol kisses him.

| "Can I have my money back?" |
Dani takes Dai a pint and asks for her £20 bribe back, although admitting he has done a good job.
When Britt comes in, there is a round of applause;

| "I closed the chippy – I wouldn't miss this!" |
she tells Garry, “Madge phoned in sick, so I closed the chippy! I wouldn’t miss this, would I?” and joins him and a disappointed Dani behind the bar.

Dol says she has a bit of a crush on Ed, whereupon Vicky points out he is young enough to be her son, adding, “There’s something weird about him – he was all over me, and now he’s ignoring me.” Debbie does not think he is weird enough to go out with Mam.

Sara is furious has she has wet paint from the toilet on her jumper, and demands compensation. Britt suggests she did it deliberately,

but is overruled by Dani, who offers the money and a free bottle of wine. Dol sidles over and says,

Gwyneth is studying her laptop, and after glancing at the messages on her phone from both Siôn and Britt,

sets about buying the holiday online.

| "Why are you ignoring our Vicky?" |
Wearing the paint-stained jumper, Dol asks Ed, “Why are you ignoring our Vicky? He replies that he has not been taking notice of anything lately, as he has a lot on his mind, and living on charity is not easy.

As Kelly eavesdrops on their conversation, Dol sympathises; she she knows how he feels.
Colin asks why she is not keeping his dad company, and she informs him,

“That witch Gaynor has banned me! She’s jealous because she couldn’t bed that Siôn!” This is overheard by Britt.
Dai tries to stand and collapses back into his chair; “The place is spinning like a top – it’s the paint fumes!”

While Dani goes to fetch a glass of water, he suggests to Britt that a glass of beer will do the job, and smirks when she goes to get one.

Siôn and Iolo arrive, to Britt’s displeasure, and Colin gives Siôn the £100 he has won; Siôn magnanimously hands it over for free drinks for the customers.

“Nice to see you giving money for once instead of taking it!” comments Garry.

Sara is still complaining that Jason is not spending time with her, and that they have not had a night out for ages.

He snuggles up to her and compliments her, “You’re gorgeous!” but is told that will not work. “Why don’t I book a table at the Bull tomorrow night?” he asks, and she replies that if he books a room as well, she will think about it.

As he heads for the toilet, he meets Gwyneth who asks for next week off.

Dol considers that Debbie needs some straight talking;

“It’s all ‘Mark this’ and ‘Mark that’! All your exes – and there have been quite a few – have been dodgy law-breakers, and you’re not even in a relationship with him!”
Debbie goes to the bar, while Dol tells Vicky, “You have to be cruel to be kind,”

After Vicky tells her she is behaving like a child, Debbie apologises;

“Sorry for pouring a pint over your head – but you deserved it!” Dol acknowledges it is not the first time, and will probably not be the last.

Behind the bar, Garry compliments Dani, “You’re a heck of a good landlord – but don’t think I didn’t notice that stunt with Madge!”

Not to be outdone, she answers, “And you’re not getting away with that stunt about the paint.”
“You know I always get my own way – but I admire the way you still try!” he tells her, then notices that Ed has walked in the direction of the stairs to their flat. Garry heads him off at the foot of the stairs.
