“We can put this all behind us now – and everything can get back to normal.”
![]() |

![]() |
| The solicitor takes notes |
Mark confirms that Dewi was just lying there; he checked for a pulse, and that was when an old lady came in. “I know I should have stayed, but I panicked, as I had his blood on my hands.”
![]() |
| "And before you went to the house?" |
He is asked what happened before he went to the house;
![]() |
| "He drove up and started insulting her" |
“I was in the village with Vicky, when Dewi drove up and started insulting her. He called her a slut and threatened to kidnap her baby, if she told anyone he had taken advantage of her. He couldn’t talk to her like that!”
![]() |
| "So you wanted revenge?" |
The solicitor suggests that he wanted to take revenge, but Mark insists that he just wanted Dewi to leave Vicky and the baby alone. “The only thing that counts is actual evidence – and without more of that, your case seems really flawed,” James warns Mark.

| "People have been worried about you" |
Gaynor visits Siôn at Y Felin, having been worried about him. She can understand better than anyone how he would want to lock himself away from everyone, but he is adamant he will not become a hermit.

She gives him a birthday present, a book that he has been wanting to read, and invites him to Llwyncelyn, where she will cook him a meal.

The solicitor spells it out; “It will be a mighty challenge, but I’m sure we can win!”
![]() |
| "Just prove me not guilty!" |
Mark agrees to be represented by him, as long as he does everything he can to prove Mark’s innocence. “That’s my job, Mark, but you must be patient. A case like this can be long drawn out.”
![]() |
| "I thought you could give me some advice" |
Sioned goes to Angela’s; “I thought you could give me some advice. You’re coping with your illness so well – how do you do it?”
![]() |
| "I have to, for Courtney's sake!" |
“Well, I just have to, for Courtney’s sake! Just try not to worry too much, you need to wait until you have all the details.” Sioned admits that she cannot help thinking of her Dad, who died from a heart attack, and Sheryl also had problems with her heart.
Angela urges her to stay positive;

![]() |
| "I'll use my savings" |
They all protest that he is not, and Liam will use his savings to pay for Mark’s representation.
Debbie refuses to remortgage the café, as she will not risk it;

| "Not even for Dad?" |

Then he sits down, and may have the first inklings of an idea.

| "Yeah – everything's back to normal!" |
Courtney is back from school, and tells her mother, “School was great – everything’s back to normal!” Angela tells her that Sioned has been diagnosed with a heart condition, but tells Courtney she is very lucky.
![]() |
| "I could lose my mother, and my aunt might die!" |
“Oh yes? I could lose my mother, and my aunt might die too!” shouts Courtney. Angela then announces that they are moving, she does not know where yet, but there are some nice houses on the market. Courtney is amazed at this.
Her mother continues that although she will have to take it easy during the moving process, she thought that Courtney would be happy.
![]() |
| "You just don't get it, do you?" |
Courtney bursts out, “You just don’t get it, do you? Wherever we go, you’ll still be ill!”
![]() |
| Well, that is what happens when you lie to everyone |
She grabs her bag and rushes out of the house.
![]() |
| "Sorry for calling you a 'good-time girl'!" |
When Dol comes into the café for a ham sandwich, Sam apologises for calling her a ‘good-time-girl’.
Dol responds with, “A bowl of chips to go with my sandwich wouldn’t go amiss – I could have a chip butty!”
Sam obediently orders chips, and says he wanted to check she was all right after this business with Mark.
![]() |
| "Best place for a murderer!" |

| "How long does it take to make a ham sandwich?" |
Dol wonders, “How long does it take to make a ham sandwich?”
![]() |
| "Come over to Llwyncelyn" |
Sam says he would have taken her to the Deri for a drink, if it were still open, but invites her to Llwyncelyn instead.
Dol cannot wait to get going; “Cancel the order!” she shouts, but it is too late – Debbie is bringing the plate.
![]() |
| "Right, I'll take that!" |
Dol simply snatches the sandwich and they leave. Liam remarks that she never pays for anything, and puts some money in the collecting bucket in lieu.

![]() |
| "The children haven't called" |
Siôn is disappointed that Catrin and Aaron have not called, and seems less than eager to go to Llwyncelyn.
![]() |
| "I don't want to talk about the new school" |
“This is a nice wine,” he tells Gwyneth, and stresses he does not want to talk about the proposed new school, which she assumes is the reason for his dinner with Gaynor.
![]() |
| A nice drop of Aldi cider |
At Llwyncelyn, Sam and Dol get stuck into their cans of Aldi Taurus Cider (5.3%) and Gaynor is surprised to see them when she returns to start preparing for her meal.
Gwyneth enquires about the wildest birthday Siôn has ever had, and he recalls,
![]() |
| "Naked, apart from my socks!" |
“In my third year at University, I woke up, handcuffed to the tutor’s desk, naked, apart from socks!

“I’m not a good example to the members of Bethania, am I?
![]() |
| "You're a man, not a saint" |
Gwyneth replies, “You’re a man, not a saint. I find it easier to talk to someone who’s not as perfect as some people think.” Then Siôn remembers one thing about his university life – he played lots of drinks games, but Gwyneth warns, “You’re not going to play games like that with me!”
![]() |
| "He's ninety minutes late!" |
Sam and Dol are still drinking, and Gaynor is becoming angry; “He was meant to be be here an hour and a half ago, and he’s not answering my texts!”
![]() |
| Dol's 'Rebound Rule number one' |
Dol reminds her, “Rebound rule number one – never date a man who’s just left his missus!” Gaynor points out that this is not a date, but Dol is unconvinced; “You haven’t gone to all this trouble for just a friend!”
As Gaynor vows, “That’s the last time I stuff mushrooms for any man!” Dol selflessly volunteers that she and Sam will keep her company, as that is the least they can do.
![]() |
| A free meal – just what Dol ordered |
They prepare to tuck into the stuffed mushrooms as the first course.
![]() |
| "I doubt if this will make me sleep" |
Sioned has a herbal drink, supposed to make her sleep, which Jim says smells weird. Courtney urges her to stay positive, at least until the next tests; “That’s easy for you to say – you’re clear!” replies Sioned.
![]() |
| "Here we go!" |
Then Angela appears; “Here we go!” predicts Jim, and she launches into a plea that Courtney comes home.
![]() |
| "I'm staying here!" |
Courtney however has other ideas and insists she has nothing to say, and will be staying where she is.
![]() |
| "You're coming home with me – now!" |
Angela then begins issuing orders; “Right, you’re coming home with me – now! You’re being childish!”
Courtney does not agree; “You’re being childish, expecting everyone to keep your secret – you’re pathetic!”
