| "It's not supposed to happen in Cwmderi!" |
“Things like this are not supposed to happen in Cwmderi!” she says.
“Gwyneth was jailed for killing Brandon, so this is bound to affect her,” Jason points out, and reveals,

![]() |
| . . . and wants to contact the police |
“They said on the news that they are looking for a murderer! Last week I was trying to blackmail the bloke – I have to confess to that.”

| She appears to be coming round to his point of view |
Sioned describes Ed as heartless, and has information for the police, but he warns her, “Consider what’s best for you! We have to stick to the story in case you come under suspicion, and could get arrested! Then nobody would use Deri Deithio, and we’d be back to square one, with no work and unable to pay the rent.
![]() |
| "I hope I've convinced her!" |
“There’s nothing we can do to bring Dewi back.”

| Anita introduces herself to Sam |
In the shop, Anita tells Sam that she is helping with the launch of Awyr Iach, providing healthy snacks. She invites Sam to come along, and he replies, “I fancy buying some gear for rambling,” commenting to Colin, “Would you like to buy me some walking shoes?”

![]() |
| It is Dol, relearning Welsh |
who is learning to speak Welsh, again.
![]() |
| "Think again!" |
“If you think that learning Welsh will impress me enough to let you stay, think again! I’m not Siôn White!” responds Mark, “There’s no point in your being here. Debbie has taken Vicky shopping to take her mind off – you haven’t heard? – I was arrested this week.”
“What’s new, pussycat?” sings Dol, much to his disgust.
![]() |
| "Tell Dol all about it!" |
He explains that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and was suspected of attacking a bloke who fancied Vicky – now he has died!

In the café, Sara is relieved when the police tell her that they have almost finished, so the launch can go ahead.
![]() |
| "Come and meet Sir David" |

![]() |
| Dai graphically describes the feeling |
“It feels as if I’ve been sitting on the bar of an electric fire,” he grimaces.
![]() |
| "He's hilarious!" |
Kelly comes in and laughingly describes Dai as ‘hilarious’, while Sara’s evaluation is ‘cuddly’.
Jason leaves by taxi to pick up their guest from Carmarthen station, and Dai insists on going with him.
![]() |
| "I'll have a word with Colin" |
At number 10, Anita offers to have a word with Colin on Sam’s behalf, maintaining that deep down he is ‘soft’.
![]() |
| "I might as well pack up and leave" |
Sam however considers, “I’m expecting too much – I have been selfish. I thought spending time with Colin and Yvonne would cheer me up, but Yvonne doesn’t want me around, and Colin feels the same. If my children have turned their back on me, I might as well pack up and leave.”

| The welcoming committee . . . |
As the locals clap and cheer,

![]() |
| "Honest . . . people who look out for each other"? |
David Brailsford begins, “The village reminds me of Deiniolen, where I was brought up, a down-to-earth, honest, close-knit community, with people who look out for each other. I’m over the moon with this shop, and it is my pleasure to announce Awyr Iach is open!”

| "Dave used to be an export manager" |

| "You needed a bike to get across the ship" |
“Once I was on a massive tanker – you needed a bike to get from one side to the other, and the weather was different at both ends!” Colin simply walks away.
![]() |
| "Tell him I'm leaving" |
Sam asks Anita for a favour; “Tell him I’m leaving – there’s no point talking to him.” Anita tries to dissuade him.
![]() |
| "The pop has run out!" |
Jason announces that all the ‘pop’ has gone, suggesting that they adjourn to the Deri. It is time for Sir David to leave, and discusses bikes with Dai as they go.
![]() |
| Sara has an inflated view of herself |
“Aren’t you lucky to have a woman who knows what she’s doing?” Sara asks Jason.
![]() |
| "A woman in every port" |
Kelly, Sam and Anita are laughing uproariously when Colin enters the Deri. “What’s going on between you?” he demands, “No wonder you came here – a women in every port, and probably a family too!”
![]() |
| "Colin, you're making a total idiot of yourself!" |
Kelly protests that he is making a complete idiot of himself, but he continues, “It’s his fault – he insists on upsetting me all the time!”
Sam assures him that he will not have to suffer much longer, as he is leaving at the weekend.
![]() |
| "Typical!" |
Colin continues his rant, “Typical! You disappear as soon as some one starts to have a normal relationship. No wonder Mam used to call you ‘Houdini’!”
