who appears in school uniform;

| . . . and poses with her large school bag |
Ffion takes a photo of her with her new school bag, and sheds a tear. Gethin says that it is big day for both of them, as Ffion is also starting back at school after three months’ absence.

| "I shall decide when they see her" |
At Y Felin, Siôn informs Garry that the children are too young to see Britt in her present state, and that he makes the decisions.
![]() |
| "It's too early to say she's OK" |
“It’s too early to say that she’s OK.”
“And this from the man who gave up on her!” replies Garry, but Siôn insists he was under pressure when he spoke of organ donation. He tells Garry to make sure the children get to school, as he has to go to the village.

| "Yes, Siôn White speaking" |
As soon as he has left, the phone rings, and Garry, answers it; “Yes, Siôn White speaking – right – when will she be moved to a general ward? Today? That’s great news!”

| Arwen, on her way to Cwrtmynach |
Siôn passes the stranger in the alley, then meets Ffion and Gethin, where he hears that Arwen is on the way to her first day at the Nursery Unit in Cwrtmyach.

| "I want to write an article on "Awyr Iach" |
Kelly walks into the Antur, where Sara is clearing up, and proposes writing an article for the Western Post. When Sara arranges for her to come back at four, Kelly asks,
![]() |
| "Will Jason be here?" |
“Will Jason be here?” There seems to be some antagonism between them.
![]() |
| "Bringing me chocolates?" |
Garry arrives by Britt’s bed; “Things must be bad if you’re bringing me chocolates,” she comments, and tells him, “I heard you and Siôn arguing about the gun.
![]() |
| "How did a real gun get into Bethania?" |
“How did a real gun, a loaded gun, get into somewhere like Bethania? Garry answers that Siôn asked him for one. “What exactly did Siôn want a gun for?” she continues.
![]() |
| "Siôn has changed!" |
“You’ll have to ask him,” Garry tells her, “But he’ll deny it anyway. What I do know is that Siôn’s changed – he was planning what to do with your organs – as if you’d already gone!” Britt admits that she heard that, but thought she was imagining it.
![]() |
| "You do believe me, don't you?" |
“He’d given up on you,” stresses Garry, “But I didn’t, or the kids. You do believe me, don’t you?”
![]() |
| Britt regrets that she does believe him |
Britt confirms that she does.

| Ah, this is Sam . . . |
The stranger arrives at Llwyncelyn, where we learn about him; Gaynor welcomes him as Sam, and he tells her, “I’ve come to see my favourite daughter-in-law.”
![]() |
| . . . Colin's father |
She corrects him in that she is his ‘ex-daughter-in-law’, and he adds, “Colin lost a good one when you split up!”
He reveals that he has now retired from the sea, that the job has changed over the years and he has a bedsit in Cardiff Docks. Gaynor points out that it is Cardiff Bay now, but he tells her it will always be the Docks to him.
![]() |
| "You should smarten yourself up!" |
Jason has bought a drink for Sara in the Deri, but she complains that he is not wearing a suit for the interview with Kelly.
![]() |
| "Welcome back, Sara!" |
Garry then arrives, and says, “Welcome back, Sara!” There appears to be some history between them, as she cannot leave the Deri quickly enough, followed by Jason, who leaves half his pint behind. Garry picks it up and finishes it as he walks to the bar.
Siôn is furious that Garry pretended to be him in order to learn of Britt’s move;
![]() |
| Garry takes advantage of a free half-pint |
“What’s it matter?” asks Garry, casually, “The important thing is that Britt is recovering.”
![]() |
| "Ows, can you come in – now?" |
Siôn phones Ows to come in and do a shift, as he has to go to the hospital straightaway.
As he leaves, Siôn moans, “I can’t believe you pretended to be me!”
Garry replies, “You’re right – who’d want to be you?”

| Sara speaks glowingly of Awyr Iach . . . |
Kelly has her camera set up and records Sara, who waxes lyrical about their range of clothing for outdoor activities, hence the name Awyr Iach (Fresh Air).
![]() |
| . . . all the aspects of the Welsh outdoors . . . |
“Wales has changed so much in eight years, with so much more to do outdoors, and especially the coastal path.”
![]() |
| . . . and Kelly looks really enthralled |
Kelly looks exceedingly bored by this spiel.
![]() |
| Jason arrives, modelling their merchandise . . . |
When Jason puts in an appearance, Kelly refers to his,
![]() |
| . . . and pointing out the Awyr Iach logo |
“Sporty outdoor look – that will attract the readers!” Sara looks sour (indicating that there is some history here as well) but continues to go on about showing and promoting their stock.
![]() |
| "The day went better than expected" |
Later, Ffion is back from school, and reports that it went better than she had expected, although Gaynor was talking at length about the proposed ‘Lifelong Learning School’, the head’s job for which Ffion wants to apply.
![]() |
| Arwen appears to be happy with school |
Arwen comes in and Gethin tells them that he is proud of both of them.
![]() |
| "Colin is probably still angry with me" |
Sam suspects, “Colin is probably still angry with me for selling the house when Dilys died,”
![]() |
| "Colin doesn't bear grudges" |
but Gaynor points out that was fifteen years ago, and Colin does not bear grudges. He agrees to go and see Colin.
![]() |
| Siôn is surprised to be pushed away |
When Siôn arrives at Britt’s bedside, she pushes him away; “I know about the gun – Garry told me everything,” she tells Siôn, “How could you keep a gun in the chapel, of all places?”
![]() |
| "I don't know you any more!" |
Siôn tries to explain that he was keeping it for Garry, but is unsuccessful. “Don’t blame Garry,” Britt says, “I don’t know you any more – you’ve told so many lies, stolen money, now I find you’re hiding a gun in the chapel!
![]() |
| "I want a divorce!" |
“I don’t want to hear who did what – I want a divorce!”
Again, Siôn maintains that her brother is behind this, and has been stirring things. She continues,
![]() |
| "I told you not to borrow from him!" |
I told you time and time again not to borrow money – from him more than anybody! But you didn’t listen – you never listen. But you’ll listen to this – this is the end for us! I can’t take any more!
![]() |
| "I'll call a nurse!" |
“Leave me alone now, or I’ll call a nurse!”
He pleads that he just wants them how they were – happy; she dismisses this with, “I don’t even remember when that was! Don’t pretend you care about me – I heard you arguing, when you spoke about donating my organs, as if I were already dead. Don’t deny it, because you’ve told enough lies already.”
![]() |
| Siôn is a broken man |
Siôn sits speechless, his eyes filled with tears.
![]() |
| "What's the matter with you?" |
Back at Bryntirion, Sara can see that Jason is far from happy;
![]() |
| "It's that Garry Monk!" |
he growls, “That Garry Monk! The way he treated you, he’s lucky I’m speaking to him at all!
Sara’s response is, “Stuff him! Leave the past in the past – it’s the future that’s important now – you and me.” And so saying, she kisses him.
Siôn admits that he was under terrible pressure, but Britt responds that so was Garry, but he did not give up on her.
![]() |
| "You wanted me to die. Siôn!" |
“You wanted me to die, Siôn!” He insists that he would never give up on her, but she exclaims, “I don’t want you any more! The children will be better off without you!
![]() |
| "I don't want you ever touching me again!" |
“I don’t want you ever touching me again!”
Gwyneth comes out of her front door and encounters Sam, who looks lost;
![]() |
| "You must be Gwyneth" |
“Gwyneth, is it?” he asks her, and produces the photograph. “I got this from my daughter,” he says, and Gwyneth realises who he is.
![]() |
| "Yvonne thought you were not much of a father" |
She tells him that Yvonne called him ‘not much of a father’, and directs him to number 7, where Colin lives.
![]() |
| "I'm begging you!" |
By this time Siôn is becoming desperate; “I’m begging you, please don’t do this, for our children’s sakes!” Britt calmly informs him they are her children, and she does not want him to have anything more to do with them.
He protests that they live with him; she snarls, “They can go and live with Garry – that’s where I shall go when I leave here.” Siôn predicts that she is still in shock, and will not remember saying these things.
![]() |
| Here comes Garry |
Garry has arrived outside the room and looks in. Britt tells Siôn, “I shall remember everything – I can’t stay with you after this.”
![]() |
| "You've been coming between us!" |
When Garry enters the room, Siôn accuses him of coming between them. Britt tells him, “No, you did that yourself!” and, turning to Garry, adds, “I’ve told him I want a divorce.”
![]() |
| "This is all your fault!" |
Siôn grabs Garry and tells him, “Shut your mouth! This is all your fault!” Garry calmly advises him to go, as Britt does not want him here,
![]() |
| "Calm down, Siôn – you're a bit agitated" |
and he is ‘agitated’.
Siôn pleads with Britt, “Is this what you really want?” and receives the unequivocal answer ‘yes’. He slowly leaves the room, with Garry following him.
![]() |
| "It's over between you!" |
Garry seizes his jacket and threatens, “Remember what she said – it’s over between you!”
