Frayed tempers at Garry's flat
The atmosphere in Garry’s flat is becoming rather fraught, with Chester lounging around, getting on Dani’s nerves;   there is no love lost between her and Britt either.   After giving Chester a sandwich, Britt retires to bed.
"Why is he still here?"
When Garry comes in, Dani orders him into the kitchen, and demands, “Why is he still here?   This is the second day of school he has missed.”
"He's been through a lot lately"
Garry replies that Chester has been through a lot lately, but she argues, “Having him here makes me depressed – whose side are you on, Garry?”
"You were so authoritative!"
At Awyr Iach, Jason is pleased with the publicity Kelly gave them, and praises Sara;  “You were so authoritative when you spoke to the  police!”
"I'm trying to work!"
She merely snaps that she is busy, so he asks if she wants some tea,
"Have a piece of cake"
“And a piece of this victoria sponge your mother brought over.”
"I get enough of her at home!"
“Why was she here?   She’s interfering – thinks sponges give her the right to come round here too often!   I get enough of her at home!   I just want some peace!”   Jason thinks it advisable to keep out of her way.
Marian is an expert with Welsh Cakes
Marian has been cooking some Welsh Cakes;  “Practising for Bakeoff?” asks DJ.   Cadno regrets that she keeps eating them, like a pig,
"You look all right to me!"
but is assured by DJ, “You look all right to me!”   He then asks for a couple of hours off this afternoon,
The rare sight of Cadno smiling
and Cadno smilingly agrees.
"Don't you have any work to do?"
Chester turns on the television loudly, infuriating Dani;  “Don’t you have work to do for all the lessons you’re missing?   Your mother could go to prison for keeping you off school.”
"Don't you tell my children what to do!"
This does not go down well with Britt who has just hobbled in.   “Chester has been through a lot, and what right have you to tell my children what to do?   Garry may be under your thumb, but I can see straight through you!”
"Shouldn't you be at school?"
Iolo visits, with a box of chocolates for Britt, and is also surprised to see Chester off school.   “Dad is worried about you,” he says,
"He's a loser!"
but Chester describes Siôn as a loser.
“If you’re going to pick on him, you might as well leave!   You Whites are all the same!” snarls Britt, and Iolo takes the hint.
"This is not your fault"
Britt assures Chester, “No-one knows what we’ve been through, but this is not your fault – don’t ever think that!”
"Do me a favour, Uncle David"
DJ finds Dai in the café and asks a favour;  “Uncle David, would you and Diane look after Bobi and Arthur tonight?   Marian is out, and I want to cook a romantic meal for Cadno.”
Dai is persuaded by some alcohol
He bribes Dai, with the promise of some cans.
Dai remarks to Jason, who has just come in, that Sara can help look after them, but Jason is dubious about the reception he will get.
"When is Britt reopening?"
Colin asks Garry when Britt will be reopening the Deri, and is surprised by the answer;
"I'll open when I'm ready!"
I’ll open when I’m ready!   I own the Deri now . . . with Britt.”
"Garry Monk running the Deri!"
When he has gone, Colin exclaims, “Garry Monk running the Deri!” and Jason thinks he will need a drink to get over that news.
"I know it's been difficult for you"
Back at the flat, Garry has a heart-to-heart with Chester;  “I know it’s been difficult for you lately, and it’s not easy being the man of the family.   When I was your age I thought I’d sort everything out by myself, but you have people around you who love you.”
"I was the one who fired the gun!"
Chester stresses that he was the one who fired the gun and caused all the trouble.
"Your mother is still alive"
“Whatever happened in the chapel, your mother is still alive – why not focus on that?”urges Garry.
A belated St Dwynwen's Day meal
Cadno comes into the farm kitchen to find the table laid, with flowers and a candle.   “It’s a St Dwynwen’s Day dinner – it’s late, but I forgot!”
"No-one's ever done this for me before"
Cadno admits that no-one has done this for her before;  “Then it’s about time someone did!   Have a shower, and then the meal will be ready.”
Then her demeanour changes
Cadno hesitates;  “Where are the children?”   When DJ tells her that Dai and Diane are babysitting, she starts demanding that she should be consulted about who looks after her boys.   DJ sadly blows out the candle and is about to go and bring them home
"I don't want to spoil the meal"
when she has second thoughts.   “I’ll phone Diane later – I don’t want to spoil the meal.”
Dai delegates the childcare to Sara . . .
Meanwhile, Dai is finding the boys rather a handful, and seizes the opportunity when Sara comes home.   “You can put them to bed,” he tells her, “I’ve got an important meeting at the Golf Club, and Diane is on her way back from Swansea.”
. . . and off he goes to the Golf Club
Ignoring Sara’s protests, he puts on his coat and goes.
"Dani had a go at Chester"
As Garry is measuring up in the Deri, Britt joins him, saying she is worried about Chester;  “Dani had a go at him this morning!”
"He is just worried about you"
Garry explains that he has had a word with him, and that it is because Chester is worried about her that he has not gone to school.
"Who would have thought it?"
“Who would have thought it?” Britt muses, “The Monks back together – and running the Deri!   I think you and I will be all right, working together.   I’m looking forward to moving in and getting sorted out – it will be a fresh start for us all!”
Garry almost tells her, but not quite
Garry is about to explain the situation to her, but again chickens out, and goes, he says, to lock up the garage.
"I must be a control freak!"
After their meal, Cadno and DJ relax in front of the woodburner;  “I don’t know why I overreacted,” she says, “I must be a control freak!   He replies that she had to be, living with Eifion.   “I’m sorry for all the times I’ve been unfair to you.   I don’t know what you see in me – you could have anyone!”
"I want you!"
DJ tells her, “I don’t want anyone – I want you!   You’re a special woman, running a farm, bringing up the boys and doing everything.
"You mean the world to me"
I admire you, and you mean the world to me.   I’ll never let you down.”
Marian sees the relationship is going nicely
As she leans forward and kisses him, Marian returns, watches and smiles.
"We can't have that in the Deri!"
Dani arrives at the Deri with the wallpaper sample book;  “No, we can’t have that in the Deri – looks like something from a French Bordello!” comments Britt, and Dani replies that it is not up to her.
"You can twist Garry round your little finger"
“Of course it is – I’m a partner too.   You can twist Garry round your little finger – but not me!”
Dani angrily picks up the book;
"They're for the flat upstairs!"
“They’re not for the Deri – they’re for the flat upstairs!” she explains.   Britt is adamant that she will not have that wallpaper near her flat, and Dani snaps, “You won’t have to, because it won’t be your flat – it will be mine and Garry’s!”
"Nonsense!   The children and I are moving in!"
Furiously, Britt growls, “Nonsense – the children and I are moving in!”   Dani threatens that if she does not move into the flat, Garry will sell his share of the Deri.   In turn, Britt promises, “I’ll sell my share too!” but Dani points out that will leave her with nothing.
"Calm down!"
Garry comes in and tries to break up the shouting match;  when he expresses dismay that Dani has told Britt, she replies,
"Someone had to tell her!"
“Someone had to – you clearly were not going to!”
"Dani's right – we're moving in"
Garry confirms the bad news to Britt;  “Dani’s right – we’ll be moving in.   It makes sense for you to be living above the chippy.”
"I never thought you'd be so two-faced!"
Britt is in no way convinced;  “You knew that all along, but didn’t tell me!   Is that what you meant when you told Chester that you would look after me?   I never thought you’d be so two-faced!
"I would rather have died in hospital!"
I would rather have died in hospital than see you betray me like this!   I’ll never forgive you for this!”
When she has hobbled out, Garry looks at Dani;
"Happy now?"
“Happy now?” he asks,
"Yes!"
and she quietly replies in the affirmative.
"Is Diane still not home?"
Sara is exasperated by the boys laughing and shouting upstairs.   When Dai returns after his meeting, he wonders why Diane is still not home from her visit to Swansea.
Sara is certainly in a terrible mood;
"I know her game!"
“I know her game – stuffing children in my face to persuade me to have kids of my own!   You tell her to keep her nose out of my business!”
"Sort your mother out – she's obsessed!"
When Jason comes in, he gets the same treatment;  “Your family is forcing me to look after Bobi and Arthur to try and make me broody!   Sort your mother out – she’s obsessed!”
"I'm late!"
Jason remarks that she has not been herself today, and she admits, “I’m late!”
"Late for what?"
“Late for what?” he naïvely enquires,
"I might be pregnant!
and she tells him she suspects she may be pregnant.
Sara does not appear overjoyed
He is overjoyed and says, “Give me a cwtch!”
