Sheryl, who has been looking at an airline booking site, tries to shield the laptop from Hywel’s attention.

She tells him she is too busy to have lunch with him at the café, and when he has gone makes a phone call;

Dol is still practising her Welsh, speaking useful phrases like, “Where’s the pub?”

Debbie is on the phone to Mark, promising to see him this afternoon. Dol manages the Welsh for, “Where’s my beer?”

then comes up with, “Euog,” meaning guilty. This angers Debbie, who suggests that ddieuog (not guilty) is more appropriate.

Vicky’s excuse for lounging around and not getting dressed is that she is grieving for Dewi; her mother points out that Vicky was just one of many women he had ‘on the go’. “He dragged us into all this mess!” she complains.
Dol opens the door to Liam, and announces, “The cavalry is here!”

Liam corrects her that he is the infantry, and that someone has to sort this mess out.

Gwyneth pays a visit to Siôn and commiserates, “It must be difficult in this empty house. It will get better, given time.

“If I can reach an understanding with Garry, I’m sure you can with Britt. She blows her top and then regrets it – do you want me to have a word with her? It’s worth a try for the sake of the children.”

Liam tells them that he could not refuse when sent a visiting order by Mark, and explains he has a Special Dispensation, and is not ‘AWOL’ as Dol suggests. When Debbie tells him he can have Dol’s room, and she can share with Vicky,

Dol is outraged; “I’m not sharing – I need my sleep!” so Ricky agrees to sleep at the café flat.
Liam will not allow Ricky to take his bag upstairs, and Dol considers,

Gwyneth’s next stop is Garry’s flat, and she brings Britt some flowers; “Did you know that Garry’s moving into the Deri flat?” growls Britt,

“He lied to me! I get to stay here – a small flat with three children. Garry, Siôn – all men let you down in the end. I should never have believed a word they said.”

Gwyneth assures her, “You can depend on me, you know. I’m here for you, if you need me.” Britt looks uncomfortable.

As Vicky passes the salon, Sheryl comes out and asks her for a favour; “I know you said you didn’t want the job back, but things have changed. I’m going away and want someone to help Dani in the salon. It would be more money – and I wouldn’t be there. I need to know as I’m leaving next week.”

Britt continues complaining, “I can’t believe that Siôn used Catrin like that!” but Gwyneth asks if she is sure it was Siôn’s idea.

Then Catrin arrives, as she has a dentist’s appointment, and announces that afterwards she will go and see ‘Dad’.
“No, I don’t want you going there!” insists Britt. Catrin protests that she wants to see him, rushes to her bedroom and slams the door.

Gwyneth points out that it would make life easier if Britt let Catrin go there, as she should not punish the children for what Siôn did.

Debbie has made some cakes for Mark, but Dol says they will suspect her of smuggling.

Vicky returns, triumphantly telling them she has her old job back – and more money; “Now I can bring in some money to help the family.

Ricky has written a letter to his father, and hands it to Debbie as the taxi arrives to take them to the prison.

Liam assures him that he will sort it all out.

As Siôn is sorting the laundry, he is surprised to see Catrin and Aaron come in, with Britt.

“Don’t think I’ve forgiven you – I’m only doing this for the children! I’ll pick them up in an hour,” she says, and leaves.

Catrin apologises for the flowers, but Siôn emphasises that none of this is her fault. “Will the chapel be opening again?” she asks him, “So that we’ll be able to see you at Sunday School?”

| Megan turns up, just at the wrong moment |
However, the peace is rudely disturbed by the arrival of Megan. Catrin takes Aaron upstairs to look for a DVD.
Megan tells him, “I’ve got good news for you – the denomination have decided to reopen the chapel.

“I’m here about the ordination, your ordination. The chapel members are in favour.”

Mark is anxiously sitting in the visiting room, and shows relief when his two visitors arrive. “I wouldn’t leave you in the lurch!” Liam assures him, and Debbie reveals that they would not allow her to bring in the cakes.

As Debbie gives him the letter from Ricky, Liam turns and catches the eye of one of the prisoners; they almost imperceptibly nod at each other.

Mark is at a very low ebb; “I’ve let everyone down, haven’t I? They may as well throw away the key – I’ll never get out of this place!”

Siôn is furious at Megan nominating him, calling it ludicrous,, but she smugly replies, “I thought you’d be pleased to know we have faith in you. Preparing for the ministry would be a positive focus for you.

“Look at it as giving something back to Bethania – if you understand what I mean. We can forget about anything unfortunate that has happened in the past, if you are willing to work for Bethania in the future.

“So, can I tell the members you’re willing to put the wheels in motion? Excellent – they’ll be overjoyed – and so am I!”

At this point, Britt walks in, and exclaims, “You haven’t changed at all! The chapel comes first, before the children as usual!” Despite Siôn’s protestations that he did not want Megan there, she calls them downstairs;

“Your father prefers chapel business to seeing you! Don’t you dare take advantage of the children again!”

Sheryl is cooking a meal of lamb, and announces to Hywel that she has something important to tell him.

“I think it would be better if we work with a charity that already exists – in Africa.”

Hywel is puzzled, but agrees, if that is what she wants.

“Something more practical than raising money – we’re going out there for a few months to help.” Hywel is incredulous.

“We’re going to Africa – you and me! I’ve booked tickets, and we leave next week. I’ve sorted out the salon, so all you have to do is sort out CwmFM – I’m sure Anita will be glad of the work. We’re going, Hywel! I won’t take no for an answer!

Mark tells Debbie and Liam, “Even my solicitor told me to plead guilty, as there’s too much evidence against me!”

Debbie insists they will do everything they can to get him out, and Liam stresses they will prove he did not kill the bloke. “Maybe I should just plead guilty and get a lighter sentence,” says Mark,

“It might take months or years, and I can’t handle it in here that long!”

when Gwyneth arrives, bringing some food for him. “I saw Britt – did she come over with the children?” she asks. Siôn confirms that she did, but so did Megan.

Hywel informs Sheryl that she has not thought this through; “We have no experience of work like that!” She argues that they give training, and are desperate for people, but he points out, “Cwmderi Rugby Club are desperate for new players as well, but I don’t see you volunteering to play!”

“I know it’s a bit of a shock,” she begins, “But there’s something else too. We’re going to Canada first, to see Wil – you know how much I miss him, and this is an ideal opportunity.”

Hywel puts his foot down; “We can go to Canada – but this Africa business? Come on! I know the last few months have not been easy, but this is not the answer!” When Sheryl says she is determined to do this, he gives his final answer; “Well, you go by all means, but I’m not coming with you! I am not going to Africa, and that’s the end of it!” Sheryl actually looks surprised by this.
