| Looking after three children is not easy |
Garry is becoming flustered with getting the children ready for school; Gwern accuses Aaron of hiding his bag, Aaron denies it, and Catrin cannot find her shoes.
"That's great news!"
|
Then Garry receives a phone call; “That’s great news! Yes, I’ll tell him myself.” He tells the children,

| "Chester can come and live with us!" |
“The police are not pressing charges against Chester – he can come and live with us. You can see Mam soon.”
"Gemma left very suddenly"
|
Mark has a parcel for Ed, and remarks that Gemma left very suddenly; “Yes, she was determined to go!” Ed replies.
“It’s difficult to get any sense out of young women!” laments Mark, “Vicky can be hard work at times – what do you know about this Dewi?”
"A businessman with plenty of money!"
|
Ed tells him that Dewi is a businessman with plenty of money and a place in Swansea. He also advises Mark to keep an eye on Vicky; “There’s something about him – rich men like him are able to abuse their power, and he’s a lot older than her.”

| "Well, we can't say too much about age difference!" |
Mark comments that they cannot say too much about age difference.
When told that he has given Vicky a credit card, Ed concludes,

| "I'll keep an eye on him" |
“That’s not normal – I’ll keep an eye on him if you like.”
"How can you afford that?"
|
At Maes-y-Deri, Debbie sees Vicky’s new bracelet; “How can you afford that, now you’ve left the salon?” she asks.
Vicky maintains she works hard at Y Glyndwr, but Debbie is sceptical; “I work hard and have a business, but I can’t afford stuff like that!” Vicky protests that it is not gold, and was half-price at Carmarthen market, which her mother does not believe.

“So you remember what I look like then? I waited outside for an hour – or you could say I’ve waited all my life!”
"I know I wasn't a good father"
|
Sam admits that he was not a very good father; “Or husband, as far as I know,” says Colin, “I’m angry that you were never there for us, especially Mam – she was very lonely!” His father replies that it is nice to see a familiar face, as he does not know anyone there. “Oh, there’s a lot of Welsh speakers in Cardiff,” Colin tells him.
Kelly's latest bit of journalism

As Jason and Sara look at their Western Post article, Dai says, “So you’re off to Y Glyndwr, then?” When Jason calls it a romantic meal, Dai jokes,

| "How about Diane and me coming?" |
“If you cwtch up a bit, there would be room for Diane and me, too!”
"We may have to rely on you even more"
|
Jason tells Dai that they appreciate all the support, and adds, “We may have to rely on you even more before long.”
"Have you got a bun in the oven?"
|
Dai demands, “Have you got a bun in the oven?” Jason confides that it may well be on the cards shortly. Then there is a knock at the door,

| Dai signs for a parcel |
and Mark has a parcel for which he needs a signature.
Meanwhile Jason receives a phone call to advice that Y Glyndwr has suffered a burst pipe, flooding the kitchen, so they will be closed tonight. Mark hears this news with interest.

| "I don't know what to say, Dad" |
“I don’t know what to say, Dad,” is his answer, and Sam thinks it is a good sign, if he is being called ‘Dad’. Colin is keen to leave;
![]() |
| "The answer's 'NO'!" |
“I have things to do in Cwmderi. I know what you’re going to say – and the answer’s ‘NO’!”
Sam pleads that he would not stay long – just long enough for them to get to know each other again; Colin points out, “We’ve never known each other – it’s too late now! I knew you had some agenda, – you’ve got a nerve!”
![]() |
| "You're all right, and healthy" |
Then he calms down slightly; “I have been worried about you, with ships in the news all the time – refugees and pirates – but at least I’ve seen that you are all right and healthy, and you must have some money. You’ll enjoy it here, once you’ve settled.”
"Go back to that shop of yours"
|
Sam advises him, “Go back to that shop of yours – I understand, honest!”
Debbie has found the credit card in Vicky's bag;

Vicky complains, “You and Mark are so nosy – he was just the same as you! Now mind your own business!”

“It’s early days – we must give the relationship time to develop. That makes sense, doesn’t it?”
"Oh, aren't we going to Y Glyndwr?"
|
Sara is all dressed up and is disappointed they are not going out, but Jason is confident they can have their special night at Bryntirion instead, just the two of them.

| Dai is obviously not keen on Glenys Pop |
He leaves his credit card behind
|
Dai leaves his wallet on the shelf, “So Glenys can’t get near my credit cards!”
Debbie is angry
|
Debbie shouts at Mark that he should have told her; Vicky insists that she is grown up now and living her own life.
![]() |
| "Why did he give you the credit card?" |
Mark demands why this Dewi should give her the credit card. “Because he can afford to – nothing sinister!” says Vicky, exasperated, “Now I’m off for my shift at Y Glyndwr.”
"Better take your flippers with you"
|
Mark warns, “You’d better take your flippers with you – it’s closed – a burst pipe has flooded the place!”
Debbie asks where she is going. Vicky announces it is none of their business; “It is my business if I’m looking after Nicky for you!” insists Mark.

| Jason keeps Sara's glass topped up |
