| Debbie has had enough |
Mark delivers post to the café flat; Debbie tells him, “I think I’ll go back to bed – I slave away, day after day, and for what? I’ve not got a penny to spend on myself, never mind Ricky!”

| "I've got to pay more for the electricity!" |
When Mark hands over a letter from the electricity company, she finds that her monthly payments are to be increased. “I’ll have to pay more now – I’ve had enough!” she exclaims.

| "Come and live with me!" |
Mark suggests a solution; “Come and live with me!” She protests that the house is full already, and Ricky comes to the flat for some peace. “Ricky will understand,” replies Mark,

| "Rent out the flat" |
“You can rent out the flat and use the money to pay the café’s bills. I’m offering because I want us to be together.”

| "I'll think about it" |
Debbie is not keen, but agrees to think about it.
Jason comes to APD to ask Dai when the scaffolding outside the Antur will be erected, and is told it will be at the end of the week.

| "It's your mother's birthday!" |
Jason has forgotten his mother’s birthday;
“You could have phoned!” she says, irritably, and Dai adds that Emma called, all the way from Australia.

| "Someone from the rugby club checked the spellings" |
Then Mark comes in with the post, as Jason tells them, “I’ve been on the phone to the company who designed the logos for the new shirts, and they tell me that someone from the rugby club checked the spelling.”

| "That's bound to be the secretary" |
Dai mutters that it is bound to be the secretary.
Diane is furious; “And to think, Ffion is a teacher! She needs to be told how much trouble she has caused!” Dai points out that there is a committee meeting tomorrow, and it will all be sorted out then. “I feel like giving her an earful right now!” rages Diane,

but Dai is determined that the committee will want to keep the matter ‘in-house’.

| "What's your mother here for?" |
Ricky is pleased to see that Courtney is still wearing the beads, and they are surprised when Debbie knocks at the door. Ricky hides up the stairs as his mother comes in

| "Can you work a shift for me?" |
and asks Courtney to work a shift at the café.

| Courtney agrees . . . |
She agrees to do so,

| . . . but it does not go down well with Ricky |
and when Ricky reappears he is disappointed, but she reminds him they have the rest of the week. She kisses him and goes to get ready.

| "I want a nice, big cake!" |
Hywel goes into the café as soon as it opens, then Jason hurries in, asking, “Do you have a nice, big cake?” Debbie replies that all their cakes are nice. “I want a sort of birthday cake, with Diane’s name on it – I’ll pay you for your trouble.”

| "I think I can manage that!" |
Debbie thinks that she can produce something suitable.

| "Dai says it was Ffion!" |
Then Jason tells Hywel that someone did check the badges before they were printed; “Dai says it was Ffion!” At this, Hywel rushes out of the café.

| The coffee machine is playing up again |
When Courtney arrives for her shift, Debbie is shouting at the coffee machine, which seems to be malfunctioning again.

| Dai is busy on the laptop |
Dai is doing something on the laptop when Diane proposes checking the APD stock, and he rapidly closes it.

| "What's all this about Ffion?" |
Hywel comes in and demands, “What’s this I hear about Ffion?” Dai tells him that there is a time and place for everything, and in this case it is tonight’s meeting.

| "This involves Awyr Iach as well!" |
Diane points out that it is not just a rugby club problem, but has caused a lot of trouble and expense for Awyr Iach as well.

| "If Ffion is to blame!" |
“If she’s to blame!” states Hywel. Diane asks who else could have checked it and said it was all right. “That’s easy – check the club e-mails!” answers Hywel, but Dai blusters that he has no time to mess about with the computer, as he has a business to run, and then he makes himself scarce.

| "I think Dai was deleting something" |
Diane enquires, “If I deleted something from the computer, could you find it again? I think that is what Dai was doing just now.” Hywel indicates that it should not be too much trouble,

and with a couple of clicks,

manages to locate the offending e-mails.

Diane bellows, “Dai! Dai! You have a lot of explaining to do, boy!”
As Courtney wipes a table in the café, her bracelet sheds all its beads, which she has to pick up from the floor.
Just then Ricky comes in and reports to his mother that he is bored.

“You can clean the kitchen for me, then!” she tells him, and is amazed that he agrees, as he thinks it is an opportunity to be with Courtney.

| Jason offers his apologies to Vicky |
When Jason apologises to Vicky, she stresses that she had said all along that it was not her fault;

| "That Diane was a proper tyrant last week!" |
“Diane was a proper tyrant last week! It serves her right that you forgot her birthday!” Dol rages.

| Diane's turn to apologise |
Then Diane arrives and apologises for being so hard on them.
“This mess could have been avoided if the rugby club had done things properly,” she says, “You were wrongly accused, and I’m sorry!”

Vicky’s reaction is that it is too late now. Diane continues, “What Jason doesn’t know is that Ffion is not responsible.”
Jason naturally wants to know who was at fault;

Dai walks in, looking rather sheepish, and tells them that it was he. Vicky demands why he he did not admit it;

“Why didn’t you say anything? Do you have any idea how much work it was to take off the old logo? And I got less pay! I want Diane to pay me back officially,

| "I want Dai to finish the job – on his own!" |
“and I want Dai to finish the job – by himself! Or Mam-gu and I will go on strike!”

Jason is furious; “You endangered the company, Dai — our business!”

| "Vicky, show him how the sewing machine works!" |
Diane suggests that Vicky should show Dai how the sewing machine works.

| "I am supposed to be working" |
In the café kitchen, Ricky is impatient for Courtney to join him, but she explains she is supposed to be working, then takes Jason’s cake to him. Debbie wants to talk to Ricky;

| "Mark has asked me to move back in" |
“Mark has asked me to move back to Maes-y-Deri, so we can get a tenant for the flat, but I haven’t decided yet.”

He assures her that she should do whatever is right for her.

| "Keep your dirty paws off that cake!" |
Jason is delighted with the cake, and warns Mark to keep his dirty paws off it; he also announces that it was Dai who checked the logos, not Ffion.

Hywel tells Mark, “I hope you haven’t told the whole village that it was Ffion!”

Debbie reveals to Mark that their son is helping in the kitchen, then once again the coffee machine seizes up. “It will cost a fortune! How am I going to afford it?” Mark reminds her that he has already given her the answer.

“I’ll look after you, and we can be a proper family again – under one roof, and we won’t have to worry about money!” he enthuses.

Dai is operating the sewing machine when Jason comes in,

and they all sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Diane.

She cuts the cake there and then, giving large slices to Dol, Vicky and Jason, telling them she is glad they found who was responsible.

Dai asks if he gets a slice, but is told, “No – you’ll stain the logo!” Jason proposes that after eating the cake, they should adjourn to the Deri, so that Dai can have some peace to get on with his work.

| Debbie has mixed feelings, being back here |
Debbie arrives, complete with her luggage, back at Maes-y-Deri; “Maybe it would be different if Mam was not living here,” she admits, “Are we doing this for the right reasons?”

As they kiss, Vicky and Dol come in, and Dol enquires, “What’s with all these bags?” She is informed that Debbie is moving back in, and her face falls;

“Permanently?” she asks. Mark tells her that if she does not like it, she can always move out.

| "Maes-y-Deri is a madhouse already!" |
In the café flat, Ricky is packing his things into boxes; “I suppose I’ll get even less peace now,” he tells Courtney, “Maes-y-Deri is a madhouse already!”

| "Is something bothering you?" |
Courtney thinks that something else is bothering him, and asks if he is angry that she worked today.

| "Why have you been avoiding me?" |
He, in turn, asks why she has been avoiding him today; “I was trying to be careful in case your Mam realised we’re going out together,” she replies, and he remarks that today it does not feel as if they are.

Then Courtney admits that she has broken the bracelet; “Are you angry?”
He assures her that he is not, and asks,

“Are things all right between us?” She tells him that things are fine, but he goes on, “I thought you were starting to regret that we . . . you know.”

“Of course I’m not,” she confirms, “Come on, I’ll help you pack. Make sure you pack a small bag, so you can come to stay with me occasionally.”

Diane and Jason relax in the Deri, and Diane wonders how Dai is getting on with the sewing. Just then, he joins them, as he says he is entitled to some lunch.

“I’m not sure I can work much longer,” he complains, “I have terrible cramp in my fingers!”

| Jason thinks he is pulling their legs |
Jason has never heard of cramp in the fingers, but Dai explains, “I’m someone who builds walls and does plastering – not fiddling with a woman’s job!” Diane takes exception to this, as her grandfather was a tailor, and warns that, were he still alive, Dai would get a thump for saying that.

“I’ll be lucky to be alive, if I have to do that job on my own!” laments Dai, but Diane is unsympathetic, saying he only has himself to blame. Jason recommends borrowing some liniment from the rugby club. “I shall have to have a sandwich, as I can’t hold a knife and fork,” Dai moans, but Jason predicts he will not have any problem with holding a pint.

Hywel comes into the Deri in a foul mood; “I don’t think you’re fit to be a member of the rugby club, let alone chairman!”

Dai refers to it all being a misunderstanding,

but Hywel continues, “Blaming Ffion was not a misunderstanding! You won’t get away with this – you’ll find out tomorrow!”
