"He's never done anything like this before"

At Cysgod y Glyn, Gethin tells a police constable that this is not like Daniel – he has never done it before.   “All I can see is his face before he left!   He is scared of something or someone.”

"They would have contacted us by now"

Ffion insists, “If they are behind this, they would have contacted us by now – they’d want something!”   

"It's part of their mind games"

Gethin is convinced that the gang want them to worry as part of their mind games.   “Maybe there is someone who can find out!” suggests Ffion.

"The ring is ready"

Out in the field at Penrhewl, Cadno reports that Mr Jenkins the jeweller has called to say the ring is ready;

"Especially this smug toerag!"

DJ is looking forward to telling everyone, and seeing Eifion approaching, adds, “Especially this smug toerag!   I can’t wait to see his face when he’s thrown out!”

Eifion is his usual charming self

Eifion, who has had a weekend in Swansea, enquires whether anything exciting has happened in his absence;  when Cadno tells him no, he grins, “She must be with the wrong man, then,” and walks off.

Iolo has his little list

As Iolo compiles his guest list, Colin comes downstairs;  

"At least the gooseberry is on the list"

“Living with an engaged couple makes me feel even more of a gooseberry – but at least the gooseberry is on the list for an invitation.”   He leaves for work.

Tyler refuses to contact his mother

Iolo reminds Tyler that it is not too late to phone his mother, but he is determined not to;  

"We shall soon be related"

Iolo consoles him that they will soon be related.   

"How do you feel about starting a family?"

“How do you feel about starting a family?” Tyler suddenly asks, “I always thought that after getting married we could adopt, foster or get a woman to help us.”

Ffion explains what has happened

Ffion has gone to the Deri, where Garry again assures her, “The last I heard they were abroad – why?   What has happened?”   Ffion is convinced that she was the intended target, as she was wearing the same colour coat, and it happened right outside her home.   And now Daniel has gone missing from the garage, without his coat or phone.

"I'll make some enquiries"

Garry agrees to make some enquiries, as it is important to locate Daniel.   Ffion says that she could not live with herself if anything happened to him.

The question takes Iolo by surprise

Iolo asks how long Tyler has been thinking about this matter, as he has not mentioned it before, and admits he has never considered it.   

"We should ask Colin to move out"

Tyler has flagged up one problem;  “Would any agency take us on while we are sharing a house?   We should ask Colin to move out – that would give us some time together.”   

"You can't throw Colin out!"

Iolo is outraged that he should say such a thing.   

"No, Colin, there's nothing wrong"

Colin returns as he has forgotten something;  

"Is he moving back in?"

As Cadno puts out the washing, Eifion demands, “Is he moving back in?   I have a right to know who’s living here with the boys.”   Cadno confirms that DJ is moving back, 

"Until he moves out again!"

but Eifion scoffs, “Until he moves out again!”

"We're getting married!"

“He won’t be moving out – we’re getting married!” she announces, and Eifion hopes that he does not disappear to New Zealand before the big day.   Cadno spells it out, 

"I know all about what you did!"

“I know the rôle you played in driving him away when I needed him most!   He is going to be my husband!”   Eifion again insists that DJ is not good enough for her, and he does not want her to make a mistake.   

She storms back to the house

She picks up her laundry basket and walks back to the farmhouse.

DJ has a quick look at the ring

In the village street, DJ takes a look at the ring, then attempts to tell Dai the good news, 

"The changing rooms are collapsing"

but he is too busy worrying about the rugby club changing rooms.  “They’re collapsing, and so wet, there are mushrooms growing!   I’ve called a meeting about fixing them,” he says, and wants DJ and Colin to join him.

"Nave you seen Daniel, or anyone suspicious?"

Ffion approaches then and asks if they have seen Daniel, or anyone looking suspicious.   

"Colin always looks suspicious!"

“Colin always looks suspicious!” jokes Dai.   Ffion is furious that he is joking when Daniel is missing, wondering how he can be so insensitive.

Cadno gives the dough a good going over

Cadno is breadmaking, viciously pummelling the dough, 

"Is that my face in the dough?"

when Eifion asks, “Is that my face in the dough?   I’m sorry about what I said – I didn’t want to hurt you.”

"I want you out!"

She is not placated;  “I want you out, if you can’t be happy for us!   I can’t have you both here.”   Eifion whines about all he has sacrificed for the farm – his home and job, but she replies, “You can still work here, but not live here!”   He expresses his contrition, and asks if there is anything he can do.   

"Yes, you can pack!"

She answers quite clearly, “Yes – pack!”

"What's that moving over there?"

Dai and DJ argue as they go into APD, then Dai sees something moving at the back of the shop.   It is revealed to be Daniel;  

Daniel is discovered

“Are you going to lie there all day, or get up?” Dai demands, “Shall I phone Gethin?”   

"Please don't do that!"

Daniel pleads with him not to do that.   Dai asks, “Are you going to tell me what you’re doing here – or do I call the police?”

"Are you in trouble?"

He sits down and continues, in a rather less confrontational manner, “I know people say I talk a lot, but I can keep a secret – are you in trouble?”   

"I might be kicked out of school"

Daniel admits he has been in a fight, and a gang has been after him.   He is afraid his Mam will find out and he might be kicked out of the school.

"Running away won't solve anything"

Dai assures him that running away will not solve anything;  “Your father’s worried – and I got an earful from Ffion just now!   I think it’s about time you told everyone you’re safe.”

"You're not out there, looking for him!"

Ffion is remonstrating with two police officers;  “If you’re here, you’re not out looking for him!”   

"Don't ever do that again!"

Then Gethin sees Daniel coming out of APD with Dai;  he runs to hug him, warning him never to do this again.   

Garry ends the call to one of his contacts . . .

Garry is on the phone as he walks round the corner, sees this happy reunion, 

. . . and smiles to see the happy ending

and says with a smile, “OK, forget it – everything’s sorted!”

"I've told Eifion to move out"

Outside Penrhewl, Cadno has found the ring to be a perfect fit, so DJ intends to tell everyone, “Although Dad did not want to hear.”   Cadno reveals that she has told Eifion to move out.

Off he goes . . .

Just then he struggles out with three bulky bags;  “Do you want a hand with those?” asks DJ.   Once more Eifion enquires whether she is sure about this, and DJ tells him, “Of course she is!”   

. . . and they celebrate with a kiss

Eifion trudges disconsolately away, while Cadno and DJ kiss.

Dinner is being prepared

Colin comes home to find Iolo and Tyler cooking dinner;  Tyler leaves the kitchen on the pretext of contacting the photographer, 

Tyler eavesdrops

but listens at the door, to see if Iolo will break the news to Colin.

"I can feel it in my bones!"

Colin assures Iolo that he is ready for marriage;  he can feel it in his bones that they will be very happy.   Iolo discloses, “Between you and me, we’ve been discussing starting a family.”   

Colin is excited, sure that they will be great parents;  

"Uncle Colin will always be there to help!"

“And Uncle Colin will always be there to help!” he says.

"Champagne please, Alun!"

In the Deri, DJ orders a bottle of champagne from Alun, behind the bar, and tells everyone, “Cadno has agreed to marry me!”   

"You didn't tell me!"

Dai is displeased as he did not know this was coming.   “You were too busy, sorting out someone else’s son,” DJ reminds him.   

"Give your father-in-law a cwtch!"

Dai invites Cadno to give her father-in-law a cwtch.

Waiting for a pizza

As they wait for a pizza delivery, Ffion says, “Thank goodness today is almost over!   I feel terrible making you worry so much, but all the facts fitted together.”   

"We can forget Craig now"

Gethin replies that they were making all the facts fit together, and they can forget Craig now.   

Ffion has fallen asleep

The  buzzer sounds to indicate the arrival of the pizza, but by now Ffion is asleep

"When are we getting married, then?"

In the Deri, as Dai gives Diane the good news, DJ wants to know when they will be getting married, but Cadno insists there is no rush.   

"The 'bubbles queen' is on her way"

Dai announces that the ‘bubbles queen’ is on her way, 

"I'm the happiest man in the world!"

and DJ describes himself as the happiest man in the world.   At that moment, the door opens and Eifion walks in;

upon seeing the scene of conjugal bliss before him, he immediately walks out again.

"Why do onions make me cry?"

Colin helps Iolo by slicing onions, but Tyler resolutely enters the kitchen.   Colin wonders why onions always make him cry;  

"While you're crying, Colin . . ."

Tyler tells him, “While you’re crying, we’ve been talking about the wedding a lot, and one of the things to come up was the house.”   

Colin's celebrity doormat

Colin produces an early wedding present;  a doormat marked ‘MR & MR’.   “I had it specially made – I’m happy my best friend has found someone as special as Tyler!   

"We're all going to be a happy family in number 7!"

“We’re all going to be a happy family in number 7!”

"How are we going to move him out now?"

As Colin goes to place it by the front door, Tyler asks, “How are we going to move him out now?”
