Dol is the only one working
Dol is working at Awyr Iach;  when Sara asks where everyone else is, she is told that they are all getting ready for the party.
Jason's flag of truce
Then a flag of truce, a white t-shirt on the end of a pole, appears in the doorway, followed by Jason, who asks,
"Is it safe to come in?"
“Is it safe to come in?   There’s no need to fall out, is there?   Look, Mrs Francis, the two of us are going to be fantastic parents!”
Sara responds, “We’ll see!   I just want the best for this baby.”   Her voice gradually rising in volume, she continues, “We’re talking about a life – that we’re responsible for –
"You don't know the meaning of responsible!"
“not that you know the meaning of responsible!”   Jason grumbles that he does not know why he bothers,
Jason gives up
and walks out.
"Well, go after him then!"
Dol gives Sara some advice;  “Don’t just stand there – go after him!   I’ve been round the block so many times I could write a guide book,
"Perfect parents don't exist!"
“and I still haven’t found any perfect parents – they don’t exist!   They may look the part with their posh prams and organic breadsticks, but deep down they’re just winging it.”
"He's so laid-back about everything"
Sara protests, “But Jase is so laid-back about everything.”   Dol points out that does not mean he is uncaring.   As long as the baby knows they love it, they will not go far wrong.   She assures Sara that she has one of the good ones there.
Gwyneth shows her cunning plan to Tyler
Gwyneth is round at number 7, showing Tyler details on her phone of a hotel;  “B&B, a three-course meal, and the hotel’s only 45 minutes away.   We’ll see you there, then, tomorrow night!”
"That's very short notice!"
Tyler remarks that this is very short notice, and that Iolo is busy this week.
“He’ll be glad of the break, then,” Gwyneth continues,
"You know how much this means to me"
“It’s only one night – and you know how much this means to me.”   Tyler reluctantly agrees, and she enthuses, “You, me, Siôn and Iolo, sipping champagne in the jacuzzi!”
"Siôn in 'budgie-smugglers'?"
Tyler does not relish the thought of seeing his father-in-law, wearing ‘budgie-smugglers’.
Iolo is far from happy to see her
Iolo comes home, and is clearly not happy to see Gwyneth there;  he goes upstairs to change.
"Perhaps it's not a good idea"
Tyler thinks that it is perhaps not a good idea after all, but she assures him that they will have fun.
"I'm going to the Farmers' Market dinner"
Eileen is ready to go to the Farmers’ Market dinner, while Jim stares morosely at the Western Post.
"You could come with me"
“You could come with me,” she suggests.   When he declines, she says, “I promised to do these wedding favours for Cadno, but forgot all about them – can you do them for me?   You just make the boxes, put a chocolate inside and close it with ribbon.”
"After all I've been through?"
Jim moans, “You expect me to help?   After all I’ve been through, the last thing I want to see is another wedding – you of all people should realise that!   Go for your dinner – I want to be on my own.”
Jim is left on his own
Eileen does so.
Britt does not like the look of this rota
In the Deri, Britt is not happy;  “Is there a mistake on this rota?” she asks Dani, “You’ve put me and Mathew down for every busy shift.”   Dani explains that she is busy with the pantomime, but Britt wants to know,
"When am I supposed to see the kids?"
“When am I supposed to see the kids?   You’re hardly working – you and Garry should be here on Christmas Day!”   Mathew, however, is sure that they can cope.
"I'm spending Christmas with Garry"
Dani insists that she wants to spend Christmas with Garry;  “I haven’t seen him for ages – we’re going to have smoked salmon and wine!”
Britt demands, “Who is going to be cooking my Christmas dinner?   Santa Claus – or you, Mathew?”
"You can have next Christmas off"
Dani grudgingly agrees that she can have next Christmas off.
"I'm sorry, Jason"
At home, Sara tells Jason that she is sorry;
"Until the next time!"
“Sure you are – until the next time!” he grouches.   She assures him that she does not want to fight, and that ‘Bumps’ needs love and cwtches now.   “I will try my best – despite what you and Mam say!” Jason tells her, and she stresses that he will be a fantastic Dad.   “Remember that the next time you have a go at me!” he snaps, “I’d better go to the Deri.”
"Stay here with me!"
Sara urges him to stay at home with here, but he has promised the Awyr Iach staff he will be there, and suggests that she should come too.   He promises not to be late home.
"We can eat it tomorrow"
Iolo has cooked rather a lot of food;  “We shall have to freeze it, or eat it tomorrow,” he says.
"What do you mean – not be here tomorrow?"
Then Tyler reveals that they will not be here tomorrow;  “I’m taking you to a five-star hotel – I saw the offer online and thought it would be a treat.”
Iolo finally gives in
Iolo alludes to the large amount of work he has this week, but grudgingly agrees to go.
"This one's on me, Dol"
Jason arrives at the Deri and buys Dol a drink;  he asks, “Where is everyone?”
The rest of the staff have cried off for one reason or another
He is told that Anita has a headache and Vicky cannot find a baby-sitter.   As Gwyneth is going away tomorrow she cannot come, either, as she doesn’t want to leave Gwern.
"How about settling down like Jason?"
Britt enquires whether Mathew would like to settle down like Jason, and Dol adds, “Wedding bells, and the pitter-patter of tiny feet!”
"I've got a lot of partying to do!"
Mathew reckons he has a lot of partying to do before that.   Britt continues, reminding him that he would be drowning in nappies,
"Too sleep-deprived to care!"
but Dol warns, “You’d be too sleep-deprived to care!”
Sara is feeling pains . . .
Sara settles down on the sofa, but suddenly feels a sharp pain in her abdomen;
. . . so she calls Jason's number
she staggers to get her phone and calls Jason.
"If it's important, she'll leave a message"
He sees who is calling, and ignores it:  “If it’s important, she’ll leave a message,” he tells Dol.
"Not bad, considering Dani wrote it!"
Britt has been looking at Dol’s pantomime script;  “It’s not bad, considering Dani wrote it,” is her verdict.
Dol is told to learn her lines
Dani furiously order Dol to learn her lines by tomorrow.
"Oh, you've done all the boxes"
When Eileen returns, all the boxes have been done, and Jim admits that it was something to do.   She is glad to see this, and says that it is better being busy than just dwelling on things.
"I'm still grieving!"
He objects, maintaining that he is grieving;  “It’s about time I got over it, isn’t it?   I should stop this nonsense, as it’s getting you down!
"I should forget her, shouldn't I?"
“I should forget her, shouldn’t I?
Sara, still in pain, turns up at the Deri
Sara arrives at the Deri and tells Jason of the pains she is experiencing;  he wants to drive her to the hospital, but as he has been drinking quite a lot, Mathew offers to drive them instead.
Jim might do a bit in the shop tomorrow
Eileen brings Jim a hot chocolate;  he confesses, “It’s nice to be busy again – I thought I’d clear some stock from the shop tomorrow, just for an hour.”
Eileen discovers the boxes have no chocolates
Then she discovers that he has not put a chocolate in each box;  he denies that she told him to do so.   “I shall have to do them all again,” he sighs,
"Fingers like sausages!"
“It’s difficult, tying ribbons when you’ve got fingers like sausages!”
The first time Jim has smiled for a while
He bursts out laughing,
He hugs Eileen
and so does Eileen.
"Mathew is just what this place needs"
Telling Dani where Mathew has gone, Britt reveals that her opinion of him has changed;  “He is just what this place needs,” she says, but still keeps up her opposition to Dani’s rota.
Dani’s phone rings, and she is excited to see that it is Garry.
"Dodgy Cornish Pasty"
While she talks to him, Dol recalls when she had a false alarm when pregnant with Debbie;  “It turned out I’d eaten a dodgy Cornish Pasty!   I know kids can be a pain in proverbial, but we’re lucky to have them, aren’t we?”
"Give him a big cwtch!"
She tells Britt, “Chester will be out soon, and when he comes out, give him a big cwtch and hold him tight!”
Not what Dani wanted to hear
Upstairs, on the phone, Dani demands, “What is that supposed to mean?   Yes, I understand that – all right – there’s not much I can say, is there?   OK, so long!”
Britt is still moaning . . .
Britt comes up, continuing her protest;  “I know you want a special Christmas with Garry, but we all have families and have to sort this out!”
. . . but sees something is wrong
Dani is silent, and Britt can see there is a problem.
"I'm important as well!"
“Garry is – um – not coming back – until the New Year!   I know it’s important – but aren’t I as well?” wails Dani, “I might as well cancel Christmas!   At least, you won’t have to do every shift!
"He'll miss Christmas!"
“He’ll miss Christmas and Chester coming back!”
Britt invites her to spend Christmas with them;  “We need someone sensible –
"Colin's more excited than the kids!"
“Colin’s more excited than the kids,
Auntie Dani agrees to join them
and they’d love to have Auntie Dani there.
"You weren't to know about ligaments"
Mathew brings Jason and Sara home, as Sara complains that the midwife was laughing at her.   “You weren’t to know about ligaments, were you?” says Jason.
Mathew thinks had better go
Then she starts to harague him about not answering his phone;  “I don’t want that to happen again!” she says (in a tone reminiscent of Sioned).   Mathew thinks that he should leave them to it.
"I know this has shaken you as well"
Sara realises that Jason has also been shaken by this incident, but he admits that he messed up, being too drunk to help her.
"I'm here for you and the baby"
“From now on, I’m here for you and the baby,” he tells her as he covers her with a blanket,
"I won't let you down!"
“I won’t let you down!”
