Ed examines his injury
As Ed is about to eat his breakfast, he winces and looks at the bruise on his body;  Sioned fleetingly looks guilty, then tells him, “You should put some ice on that.”
"Do you have to make so much noise?"
She opens her yoghurt, as he crunches his cereal;  “Do you have to make so much noise?
"It's like eating with a horse!"
It’s like eating with a horse!” she moans.
When he gets up to wash his dish, she goes on, “Leave it – you never do it right!”
"I've got a rehearsal at four"
He reminds her that he cannot drive the taxi after four, as there is a rehearsal, and this starts Sioned off again;
"You're not going near the panto!"
“You’re not going near the panto – or Dani!   Go and tell her you’re pulling out, as we have so much work on!
"Go on, then!"
Go on!”   He glowers at her, then obeys.
"I've got no Buttons!
Britt and Colin arrive at the Deri, just as Dani hears that Dol is unwell, and consequently she has no-one to play Buttons.   She wonders if Colin could oblige,
"You can't – Chester is coming home!"
but Britt rules this inadmissable, as Chester is coming home.
She has made a welcome banner for Chester
Britt also wants to hold a party in the Deri, but Dani refuses, unless Britt assists her with her pantomime.
Linda comes struggling in
Then Linda comes in, having booked a room at the pub;
"I'm sure you're excited about the wedding"
“I’m sure you’re excited about the wedding,” says Britt, “It’s important to celebrate when big things happen to your children!”
Those stairs have exhausted Linda
Linda goes upstairs, but is exhausted by the effort and leans on the worktop for support.
Gwen takes the food order
Britt and Colin then go to the café, where Britt orders various sandwiches and cakes from Gwen to take when she collects Chester.
"They do feed prisoners, you know"
Colin points out that they do actually feed him in the prison.
"What – Mam, here?"
Britt sees DJ and asks him, “Aren’t you going to welcome your Mam, then?   We’ve just seen her in the Deri.”
Colin suggests to Britt, “Why don’t you let me collect Chester?   You’re putting too much pressure on yourself,”
"I'm glad you get on so well with him"
but she insists that this is something she has to do.   However, she is very pleased that Colin gets on so well with Chester.
Ed reveals he is backing out
Ed has followed instructions and told Dani;  “But you’re brilliant as Diabolo Dad – and you love it!” she replies.   He says he is sorry.   DJ comes in and is directed upstairs to see his mother.
"It's that Sioned!   She couldn't act!"
Dani deduces, “Sioned is behind this, because I sacked her!   She couldn’t act or stand in the right place – or remember her lines!   Do you realise I have no Buttons or Diabolo Dad now?”   Ed says that there is nothing he can do about it.
DJ disturbs Linda's sleep . . .
DJ finds Linda sleeping, but she wakes
. . . then gives her a hug
and he hugs her;  she explains, “It’s all a bit last-minute – a friend was going to Llanarthur and gave me  a lift.”   He wants her to stay at Penrhewl, but she insists she will stay at the Deri, as they will be busy at the farm.
"It's a big thing, burying your mother"
DJ tells her that Cadno is all right, “But it’s a big thing, burying your mother,” he says.   DJ wants to buy his Mam lunch,
"You go and get a couple of chocolate muffins"
but she prefers him to go to the café for a couple of chocolate muffins, and she will make tea.
Dani demands what Sioned is playing at
Dani furiously goes to the café flat, where she is told by Sioned, “You’ll have to get someone else to play the part then!
"You play every part – if you're so great!"
You can play every part – if you’re so great!”
"It's because I sacked you!"
Dani exclaims, “It’s because I sacked you!   Obviously Ed wants to do it, and you’re behind this!”   Sioned is adamant that it is nothing to do with Dani
"None of your business – get out!"
and orders her out of the flat.   Before she goes, Dani threatens, “Not many people like you anyway,
Dani threatens
but wait until I say you’re stopping Ed, because you’re jealous!   You’re just a bully, aren’t you?”
"Mam, Mam, speak to me!"
DJ returns with the muffins to find his mother collapsed on the floor.
"It's just low blood pressure"
He and Dani manage to get her to the sofa, where she insists that it was caused by low blood pressure, and she is taking tablets for it.
"Look, Mam, its either doctor or hospital"
When Dani has gone downstairs, DJ is insistent that Linda should see a doctor, or go to hospital.
"The cancer has come back!"
Linda is forced to admit, “I know what is wrong with me – the cancer has come back!   I didn’t want to tell you – not this week anyway.
DJ is devastated by the news
There’s no treatment and no cure – sorry, love!”
Chester emerges from incarceration
Chester emerges through a turnstile into the outside world;  Britt presents him with a box full of sandwiches, cakes and suchlike in case he is starving.
"Garry still in Greece?"
He is disappointed to hear that Garry is still in Greece, and not  at home as expected.
"Colin's excited too"
As they get into the car, Britt remarks that Catrin and Aaron are excited about his return – and so is Colin. “I don’t know why, after the last time I saw him!” replies Chester, and Britt says she was under the impression that they got on well.
"Part-time village idiot!"
“Is that what he told you?” asks Chester, “He tried to be my friend to make me feel better – he’s pathetic!   What does he know?   Works in a shop and is a part-time village idiot!”   Britt suggests that they go and see what the village idiot has cooked for their dinner.
Linda's life expectancy is somewhat vague
Linda tells DJ that she wants to enjoy the time she has left, which she has been told is anything between two days and fifteen years.
It will take a while for him to come to terms with it
She has come to terms with it, and wants DJ to do the same.
DJ, off to see the organist
DJ leaves, saying that he has a couple of things to sort out, like seeing the organist.   “We’ll have dinner together later.”
"Why did Dani say I'm bullying you?"
When Ed tells her that he just said they had a lot of bookings, Sioned demands, “Then why did Dani say I’m bullying you?   Have you any idea of the situation you’ve put me in?   You’ll have to do the pantomime now –
Ed is apprehensive as she has a weapon . . .
we’re going to lose money and land ourselves in debt!” she rants, as she saws away at a loaf with the breadknife.
Ed points out that they are not in debt,
. . . which she brandishes in an alarming fashion
so she waves the breadknife as she goes on, “You’re going to do the panto or I shall look a real fool!   Do you want me to look a fool and have Dani talking about me behind my back?”
"She's frightening enough without a lethal weapon!"
Ed looks nervously at the knife;  she abruptly drops it and leaves the room.
Britt is overjoyed (at the moment)
Chester arrives home and tells his mother, “I just want to go out for a couple of hours!” but she will not hear of it.   Colin announces her has cooked ‘Spaghetti Bolognese a la Colione’;
"Shame I'm a vegetarian!"
“Shame I’m a vegetarian!” remarks Chester, but Catrin informs Colin that he is not.
Chester takes over Aaron's game
Then Chester sees Aaron playing a game on the television, so goes across and takes over;  dinner is ready by this point, so Britt turns off the television.
"I thought I'd been released from jail!"
“I thought I’d been released from jail!” moans Chester.
Sioned finds it hard not to spill the beans about the murder
Sioned comments, “I’m sorry Ed – I’m just finding it stressful, trying to act normally, keeping what you did secret!   You're the one who killed somebody, but I’m the one under strain.”
"I don't know how to make you happy"
Ed confesses that he does not know how to make her happy, and she demands, “You love me, don’t you?”
He does not sound convincing
He mutters, without feeling, that he does, but when she tries to kiss him,
"Why do you want to kiss me?"
he asks, “Why do you want to kiss me?”
"I'd be better off trying to seduce the telly!"
“You have to spoil everything!   I’d be better off trying to seduce the telly!” she roars, “Get your coat – you’re going to tell Dani that I want you to do the panto, despite needing to work to clear your debts!”   He feebly protests, but she is adamant, “You’ll say what you have to!   I want her to know this fiasco is not my fault!”
Chester wants to get away from the happy family gathering
At the dinner table, Chester decides he is going out;  “Not before you’ve had your surprise!” Britt tells him.
"I thought that was a Christmas present"
Colin mentions that it was supposed to be a Christmas present.
Chester looks at the tablet, and asks, “Why get me this?”   Britt tells him it is a welcome home gift;
"What would I get for murder – a BMW?"
he demands, “What would I get for murder –a BMW?”
"You know how much I want a tablet!"
Catrin tells him not to be so horrible;  “You know how much I want a tablet!”   Chester replies that she can have this one.
Colin is not having a good day
Colin interrupts to say that Chester is being ungrateful, and receives the answer, “Who are you?   Maybe I would have been better off staying there!”   As he gets up to leave, Britt comments that he is having a bit of self-pity, instead of the crumble.
When Chester has gone, Britt demands why Colin did not tell her that he was like this:  “It’s not Colin’s fault!” protests Catrin.
Linda goes in search of DJ
As Linda goes out of the Deri,
Here comes Ed . . .
Ed and Sioned come in, and Ed follows his instructions;
. . . to deliver the speech required by Sioned
“Sioned doesn’t think it is fair that I pulled out of the pantomime – she insisted!”
Dani is naturally delighted that he has changed his mind;  “The costume will make you look one hot baddie!” she laughs.   Sioned simply demands where are their drinks, and warns Dani to make sure the glasses are clean.
"Did you have to make it so obvious?"
Then she moans to Ed, “Did you have to make it so obvious?”
"Do you think He's listening?"
Linda finds DJ sitting in Bethania, and asks, “Do you think He’s listening?   I’ve given up.”
"I can't celebrate when you're going through this"
DJ has reached the conclusion that he must cancel the wedding, as he cannot celebrate and enjoy himself when his mother is going through this.   She insists that she wants him to enjoy himself
“I’ve just found out you’re dying, and the last thing I want to do is drink champagne!” he says, “Cadno wouldn’t care anyway!
"I'm going to cancel the wedding!"
I’ve got to find you the best care now – I’m going to cancel the wedding!”
