11 July 2016 (1st)

Siôn is recovering
A policeman keeps the crowds away from Bethania, and Siôn is being given some oxygen in an ambulance;
"You ought to go and be checked, Dad"
he refuses to go to hospital, saying he is fine, and urging everyone to stop fussing.
"Any idea where Chester might hide?"
Garry asks Iolo is he has any idea where Chester might hide, and Iolo agrees to search the village for him.
"Come and take my statement later"
Siôn tells the PC to come over later for his statement, so he can get it over with.
"What are you going to tell them?"
Garry anxiously asks, “What are you going to tell them?” and Siôn just wants the nightmare to end.   “Chester is young, and could get off with psychological something,” continues Garry, “But if they get a sniff about a gun, all three of us are in it up to our eyes – for a long time!”
"You just find Chester!"
Siôn urges him to find Chester.
Chester lurks near Megan's house
Megan arrives at her house (named HILSTON) and Chester is watching;
"It was an accident –but it went too far!"
when she opens the door he rushes up and asks if he can have a glass of water.   “It was an accident – but it went too far!” he says, “I just wanted to scare them – Garry and Siôn.”
"Bethania?"
Megan now knows why she heard sirens, and is shocked when she hears it was at Bethania.
"It's like a circus out there!"
Hywel reports to Sheryl, who has been watching from the flat window, “Chester’s gone AWOL, Siôn passed out, and Bethania – who knows what state that’s in!”
"You have to forget it!"
“Were you worried the sirens were something to do with Esther?” she demands, “Thought they’d come to take her away?   This is stupid – you have to forget it!”
"It's only a matter of time"
Hywel cannot and insists it is only a matter of time.   “No-one else knows about the visa – do they?” she adds, and then he admits that he has told one person, who he could trust, as he wanted an impartial opinion.
"Gaynor!   Why do you always turn to her?"
Sheryl laughs, “Gaynor!   Why do you always turn to her?   Every time things go wrong, you run back to her!”   Hywel points out that she is more sensible than most people, and Sheryl is off again;  “Including me?   Her opinion is more important than mine – about our child?   Thanks, Hywel!”
"Telling the truth will not help anyone!"
Gwyneth is anxious about what Siôn will tell the police;  “Telling the truth will not help anyone!   The only way you’ll clear your conscience is to spend years in jail!” she tells him,
"Please, Siôn, for my sake!"
as there is a knock on the door, “Please, Siôn, for my sake don’t tell the truth!”
"Who's in Chester's class?"
Garry goes to number 7 and demands from Tyler who is in Chester’s class;  he replies, “I don’t know – I’m not his guardian!”
Ricky has given a clue
Iolo comes in, having not found Chester, but he did talk to Ricky;  “He does a lot with Kieron Parry, from Stryd yr Afon – he could be there.”
"What is the matter?"
Iolo tackles Tyler, “What is the matter?   When I ask, you won’t tell me!”   Tyler says he needs a holiday, and is going to book one at the travel agent in Carmarthen.   “We can look on the internet,” suggests Iolo, but Tyler says he can get a discount, as it is one of a college group he is going away with.
"I told you about it"
“I told you about it,” he adds, but Iolo assures him that he did not.   “You don’t have a problem with that, do you?” Tyler enquires,
"No, not a problem!"
and Iolo emphasises that he does not.
Chester expresses contrition
As Megan gives him a sandwich, Chester begins, “I’m sorry about the chapel – I know I’ve hurt a lot of people.”
"It wasn't my fault"
Megan fetches the phone;  “Repentance is a good thing, especially in the eyes of the law – you know you have no choice.”   He argues that it is not fair, and it was not his fault.
Megan has heard this all before
“I’ve heard my son, Gareth Wyn, say the same thing several times,” she tells him, “He was a bit of a rebel, like you.   I regret not forcing him to repent of his misdeeds – he might be a better man if he had.
"If you won't, I'll have to!"
If you won’t, I’ll have to!”
Chester jumps up, saying, “If you do, I’ll . . .”   Megan wonders what he will do – possibly react like his Uncle Garry.
"I don't want to be like him!"
“I don’t want to be like him!” answers Chester, “I hate him – I don’t care if I never see him again, after everything he’s done to Mam and me!”
"Does Garry have anything to do with it?"
“There’s more to this, that I’m not aware of,” says Megan, “Is it to do with you and your mother over Christmas?   Does Garry have anything to do with it?   It’s rather a coincidence that someone left a gun in the chapel, given how your uncle is.”
"He wouldn't bring a gun into the village"
Chester insists that Garry would not bring a gun into the village where his family lives.   “But he has hurt people, hasn’t he?” suggests Megan, “This would be a chance to get justice and teach him a lesson – him and Siôn White!”
"I shouldn't have gone behind your back"
Hywel admits to Sheryl that he was wrong to go behind her back, but they have to do something.   “Gaynor will not tell anyone – I would not have gone to her if I thought she would.”
"What a surprise!   She agrees with you!"
“And what a surprise!   She agrees with you!” Sheryl replies, “How can things be worse if we don’t tell the authorities?   They will take her away!”   Hywel describes the problem as a technicality, which can be fixed.
"I've got to go to CwmFM"
Then he has a text from CwmFM, which is being flooded with calls about the fire, so has to go.
"Try not to broadcast our problems!"
Sheryl’s parting shot is, “Try not to broadcast our problems to one and all!”   Then she prepares to go out.
"Thank you for not telling anyone"
She is next seen at Llwyncelyn, where she thanks Gaynor for not telling anyone, and receives the advice that she has no choice but to go to the authorities;
Gaynor offers advice
“Which is more painful – to have her taken away now, or in a few years?   If you tell the truth now, they would be more likely to believe you and let you keep her.   Then you could enjoy your time together, instead of worrying all the time.”
Dani cannot contact Britt
Iolo receives a text from Dani, “Still can’t get hold of Britt – any news your end?” and he replies with the single word, “Sorry.”
"You're not going to get all possessive, are you?"
Tyler is waiting for his two friends to get back to him about the trip to Magaluf;  “You’re not going to get all possessive, are you?” he asks Iolo, “We’ve been going on holiday every year since college, and I really need a break this year!”
"A break from who, exactly?"
Iolo demands, “A break from who, exactly?   You’ve been acting oddly with me lately – don’t deny it – arguing with me for no good reason, every time I organise something, you have to be somewhere else.   Now you’re going on holiday with friends I’ve never met.”
"There, I knew you were jealous!"
Tyler says he knew that Iolo was jealous, but he replies, “Not jealous, but not stupid either!   If you want to finish with me, be man enough to tell me – I don’t want to play games!”
"OK, fine, if you want a break for a while"
Tyler’s rather irritable answer is, “OK, fine, if you want a break for a while – we’ll see how things go.”
"Life on the run is not like it is in the cinema"
Megan tells Chester, “Life on the run is not like it is in the cinema – without food, money, company and with nowhere safe to sleep.
"Will you do the right thing?"
“Will you do the right thing?”   Again she hands him the phone, and then there is a knock at the door.
"I take it you've heard about the fire?"
Megan finds that it is Garry, who is searching for Chester;  “I take it you’ve heard about the fire?” he says.
She denies seeing Chester
Megan assures him that she has not seen Chester, adding, “I don’t know what I’d do if I saw the rascal!”
Chester makes sure he has gone
After closing the door, she tells Chester, “I hope I did the right thing.   Are you ready to make the call?”
"Anything hot to eat?"
Again he changes the subject;  “Have you got anything hot to eat?”   She agrees to make him something quick, as he will probably have a long night ahead of him.
Hywel goes to Gaynor’s and is told that he is too late – Sheryl has been and gone.
"I think she's starting to see sense"
“I think she is starting to see sense – go back to the flat and wait for her,” is Gaynor’s advice.
"I'm going to stay with Macs for a while"
Iolo has packed a bag, and announces that he is going to stay with Macs for a while, “Until he gets tired of me!
"You must find somewhere else"
You’re welcome to stay here until the end of term, but you must find somewhere else afterwards.”
Tyler does not welcome this news
Tyler is not happy.
"I won't let you and your ex-wife bully me!"
Hywel is anxiously looking along the street, when Sheryl comes up the alley.   “I needed some fresh air and time to think,” she tells him, “I won’t let you and your ex-wife bully me into anything!   I won’t take the risk of anyone taking her away!
Hywel cannot believe this
We’ll do things my way now – so don’t you dare  mention this to anyone!”
Siôn signs his statement
As Siôn is signing his police statement, Garry is concerned about what he has said.   When the officer leaves, Siôn reveals he has not mentioned the gun;
"Make sure Chester doesn't say anything!"
“Life’s too short to look back – I want to start living again!” he stresses, “But just make sure Chester doesn’t say anything about the gun!”
Chester does not appear to be hungry
Chester toys with his food, as Megan enquires,
"Do you want me to phone your mother?"
“Are you going to play with that all night?   Do you want me to phone your mother – she must be worried sick.”
"She's gone off with lover boy"
“She doesn’t care – she’s gone off with lover boy – Colin.   Gone from one waster to another!”
"Let's go to the police station"
Megan proposes that they go to the police station, as the sooner they do, the sooner it will be over with.   “If I say anything, everyone will be in trouble!” wails Chester.
She tells him, “It’s a chance to wipe the slate clean – that’s the point of punishment – you learn your lesson and move on.   If you confess, it will show you’re better than your Uncle Garry ever was!   Are you ready?”
He leaves at high speed, with Megan's bag
She gets her handbag, but as she fetches her keys, he grabs the bag and runs from the house.
