Hywel does not know where Sheryl is
As Ffion posts a letter, she sees Hywel come out of the flat, on the phone about Sheryl;
Ffion tries to calm him
he tells her that she has been released, but does not know where she is.   Ffion allays his fears by reassuring him that the foster parents will have suitable clothes for Esther.
"You did the right thing"
“You did the right thing,” she says, “Go back in and wait for Sheryl.”
"It's only natural"
She remarks to Gethin that it is only natural for him to be concerned, when he does not know the whereabouts of his partner or child.
"Bobi will love it at the Show"
Eifion is taking Bobi to the Royal Welsh Show, and thinks he will love it there.   Jim recalls, “I used to enjoy going, but haven’t been for years.”   Arthur has a bad cold, so will be spending the day with Elinor.
"Can I come?   I won't be any trouble!"
Jim suggests, “Can I come?   I won’t be any trouble.   The café’s just had fresh rolls delivered – I can make a picnic and fill a flask.”
DJ gives Eifion his tickets
DJ comes in and gives Eifion his show tickets;  “You might as well use them,” he says.   Deep in thought, he hears someone come in and assumes Eifion has forgotten something, but is alarmed to see that it is Linda
"What are you doing here?"
He demands what she is doing there, but she replies that he needs his mother.   “I was driving, Mam!” he admits, but she urges him to be strong, for Cadno’s sake,
His Mam hugs him
and hugs him.
"He's doing all the cooking!"
Ffion and Gethin visit Tyler, who says he is bored, although Iolo is glad to have him there, as he does the cooking.   “You’ll make someone a good husband!” she rather pointedly comments.
Ffion tells Gethin the latest news
Iolo goes off to work, and Ffion informs Gethin about Iolo’s proposal of marriage;  “Have you still not talked about it?” she asks Tyler.
"He's simply changed his mind!"
He answers that Iolo has simply changed his mind, so Ffion diagnoses, “You two need your heads banging together!”   Gethin advises that it should not be too hard, as Tyler already has concussion.
Dai and Diane go to Penrhewl, where it is revealed that Dai has not been sleeping as he is so worried.
"Do you expect me to feel sorry for him!"
“And he was looking forward to sleeping with a clear conscience!” replies DJ, “Do you expect me to feel sorry for him?”
"We should put this nonsense behind us!"
Dai’s opinion is that they should put all the nonsense behind them, and a voice behind him says, “Quite right!”
Dai is not happy to see Linda
He is dismayed to see Linda there, and deduces that Diane sent for her, after he had expressly asked her not to do so.   Linda explains she had stuff to sort out before coming;
They do not look exactly friendly
she and Dai glower at each other across the table.
"Why don't they just talk to each other?"
“Why don’t they just talk to each other?” Ffion demands, and Gethin enquires as to whom she is referring, Iolo and Tyler or Hywel and Sheryl.   “All of them are keeping secrets from each other,” she replies, as a taxi pulls up and Sheryl gets out.
"I'm not going in without Esther!"
Ffion goes across, and, looking up at the flat, Sheryl decides, “I’m not going in there without Esther!”
"Come over to Cysgod y Glyn"
She does not want to see Hywel, so Ffion invites her to Cysgod y Glyn.
"Ffi is too honest sometimes!"
When Iolo comes home, Tyler says, “I like Ffi – she is very honest – too honest sometimes!”   Iolo enquires if Tyler has changed his mind about their relationship,
Tyler hums, 'Here comes the bride'
but Tyler begins humming, ‘Here comes the bride’.
"Why weren't you straight with me?"
Realising that he knows, Iolo demands, “Why weren’t you straight with me?”   Tyler laughs at his use of the word ‘straight’, and considers the name, Tyler Davies White, sounds rather posh.   He also points out that they have not been together very long.
"I'm going to see my counsellor"
Iolo looks dispirited, and says, “I’m going to see my counsellor – I might have a sensible chat with him!”   he storms off.
"OK – a bath's a good idea!"
DJ is ready to go to the hospital, but Linda suggests he should have a bath and some clean clothes.
Dai resents Linda's interference
Dai wants to give him a lift, but DJ is not keen.
"He said Esther would be safe!"
At Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion learns that Sheryl has not yet been charged, and advises her to talk to Hywel, but she refuses.   “No – he said that Esther would be safe – he promised!”
Sheryl wants to find out where Esther is
She borrows the phone and goes into another room to contact the police, trying to find out where Esther has been taken.
"Do you really want to get involved in this?"
Meanwhile Gethin asks Ffion if she really wants to get involved in this;
"I have to help her!"
“There’s nothing worse than losing a child – I have to help her,” insists Ffion, “Would you let someone take Daniel or Arwen away?”   She suggests that Gethin should contact Hywel to let him know.   Sheryl returns, reporting that she had not managed to get sense out of anyone.
They wander, amongst the crowds
At the Royal Welsh Show, Eifion asks Bobi what he wants to see;  “Sheep, cattle, horses?” but he sadly shakes his head, and Eifion wonders whether it would have been better to stay at home.
"They're lucky to have you!"
Jim encourages him, maintaining that he has been a rock for the boys since the accident;  “They’re lucky to have you – and so is Courtney!” he says.
Eifion is about to suggest going to see the pigs,
"Bobi – Bobi!"
but suddenly realises that Bobi has disappeared.   They search frantically, calling his name,
Bobi sits in a familiar position
then Jim spots him, sitting on the grass behind a tractor, and shouts to Eifion,
"The tractor won't do anything to you"
who reassures him that the tractor will to do anything to him.
Jim asks if he wants sweets or an icecream, but he says no;
"Mami!"
when Eifion asks what he does want, Bobi replies, “Mami!”
"The clever doctor will make Mami better"
and is told that the clever doctor will make sure that Mami gets better.   Jim, however, looks more doubtful.
One whisky down the hatch
Hywel has ordered a whisky in the Deri, and downed it in one gulp,
Gethin gives him the news
when Gethin arrives and notifies him that Sheryl is at their flat, so he rushes out.
Ffion reminds Sheryl that she has lots of friends to help her,
"Esther will want her bottle now!"
but she can only think, “Esther will want her bottle now – warm, but not too warm!   I know what people will think – ‘What right has she to be upset?  She’s not Esther’s mother!’   I was supposed to keep her safe, but I couldn’t!”
Hywel dashes in . . .
When Hywel rushes in, she shouts at him,
. . . and receives a less than warm welcome
“Get out of my sight – you tricked me!”
"I didn't know the police would turn up!"
He protests that he did not know the police would turn up, and Ffion and Gethin leave the room to give them some privacy.
"Get out!   I don't want you here!"
“You said I wouldn’t lose her!” rages Sheryl, “But I know one thing – I’m getting her back on my own!   Get out!   I don’t want you here!”
"I miss her as much as you!"
He leaves, vowing, “I’m not giving up, Sher – I miss her as much as you!”
A strained silence at Penrhewl
There is a stony silence at Penrhewl until DJ comes back in;  then Linda insists that she wants to go to the hospital,
"They only allow two visitors!"
much to Dai’s disgust.
"I hope you're pleased with yourself!"
He moans at Diane, “I hope you’re pleased with yourself – we were just starting to get on before you dragged her here!   If she thinks she’s going to win, she can think again!”
"I was a real prat!"
Tyler apologises to Iolo;  “I was a real prat – I say stupid things when I’m nervous.   Getting engaged is a massive thing – and I don’t remember it!”
Iolo is aggrieved
Iolo in turn complains, “One minute you said you wanted to marry me, the next you ignored me!”
"We're already arguing like a married couple!"
Tyler notes that they are already arguing like a married couple, and that he had not said he did not want to get engaged.
They seem to have reached an accommodation
They finally come to the conclusion that it is in fact what both of them want.
"He doesn't want you here!"
As Linda and Dai sit on either side of Cadno’s bed, Dai tells her, “He doesn’t want you here – I’m here for him, not you!”
DJ has calmed down now
DJ returns from talking to the doctor, and apologises for his short temper earlier.
Linda tells him, “We’re here to help you, and we’re not going anywhere, are we, Dai?”
That monitor showed 80 just now!
Cadno’s monitor suddenly shows a reading of 171 and an alarm sounds;  Dai shouts for a nurse.
Jim does not agree with what Eifion said
As they sit on a hillside at the Royal Welsh Show, Jim maintains that Eifion should not have told Bobi that his mother was coming home,
"She'll be fine!"
but he is adamant, “She’ll be fine – I know her better than anyone!   She’ll get through this – no ifs or buts!”
"What?   Did he say Catherine Richards?"
Over the tannoy a message is relayed;  “Important message for Catherine Richards – this special message to you from DJ – Cadno, will you marry me?”
As the medical team fight for Cadno . . .
But Cadno is surrounded by a team of medics, and a nurse closes the blind,
. . . they can only stand by, helplessly
as Linda, DJ and Dai stand by, helplessly.
