| The ring has disappeared |
DJ takes the ring box from the bureau, but finds to his horror that there is no ring inside. Jim and Eifion come in, arguing about who is to be in charge of the farm next week,

| "I've lost it!" |
and DJ cries, “I’ve lost it!”
Jim comments, “I’d lose it, too, working with him!” DJ points out that he has lost the engagement ring,
 |
| "Congratulations, mate!" |
so Jim congratulates him, while Eifion looks less happy.
“I haven’t asked her yet – and I won’t, if I don’t find this ring!” wails DJ.

| "I sneezed, and she giggled at me!" |
Sheryl is enthusing over the fact that Esther giggled this morning;
 |
| "There's something I have to tell you" |
Hywel wants her to sit down, as there is something he has to tell her.
 |
| Sheryl takes a call from a client |
Then of course the phone rings, so Sheryl tells him they can talk about it at lunchtime. When he has gone to CwmFM,
 |
| "Why don't we give Dadi a surprise?" |
she says to Esther, “Why don’t we give Dadi a surprise? Don’t tell anyone!”
Jim asks DJ where he last saw the ring, and Eifion suggests its loss may be an omen.
 |
| "Whats' this? Mothers' meeting?" |
When Cadno comes in with the washing, she asks, “What’s this? Mothers’ meeting? There’s a lot to be done!”
 |
| "What if he's lying in a gutter somewhere?" |
Iolo has called Ffion over, reporting to her, “Tyler hasn’t slept here and he’s not answering his phone! You saw the state he was in yesterday – what if he’s lying in a gutter somewhere?”
 |
| "We should invite them over for a meal" |
At APD, Diane suggests that they invite Cadno and DJ over for a meal, but Dai is less than enthusiastic; then he has a phone call from DJ,
 |
| "Where's the ring, then?" |
who wastes no time in demanding, “Where is the ring, then? I can’t find it, and you wanted to put a spanner in the works! It will take more than that to stop us getting married!”
 |
| "I haven't got it, OK?" |
Dai responds with, “I might be a lot of things, but I’m not a thief! Perhaps an alien from outer space has stolen your ring, but I haven’t got it, OK?”
 |
| "He went off like a firework!" |
Diane wants to know why DJ should suspect Dai, and he explains that he questioned if DJ was making the right decision. “I wanted to be sure he was doing the right thing – then he lost it and went off like a firework! I don’t know where he gets that from!”
 |
| He even looks in the laundry basket |
As DJ looks in the kitchen cupboard, Cadno demands whether he is going to do any work today. “I’m struggling to get it done, and you’ve not lifted a finger!”

| Bobi is busy playing |
Bobi is playing on the sofa.
 |
| "Tyler's still not home!" |
When Iolo arrives home, he has a phone call from Ffion, and informs her that Tyler is still not home. Then Tyler appears in the kitchen doorway;
 |
| "Search party out, is it?" |
“The search party is out, is it?” Iolo tells him how worried he has been, but Tyler replies, “I am a big boy now – I can cross the road on my own!
 |
| "I've been to see the doctor" |
“I’ve been to see the doctor.”
 |
| Esther is waiting for Dadi |
Sheryl has prepared a meal for Hywel; Esther is sitting in her high chair,
 |
| "World's Best Dad!" |
and he is presented with a rosette, ‘World’s Best Dad’.

Then Sheryl gives him a present, a picture of the three of them, saying, “I don’t know what I would have done without you!”

| "They know about Esther's visa" |
Hywel announces, “They know – about Esther’s visa – the Home Office – I had to tell them!” At first Sheryl thinks he is joking, but on realising he is serious, removes Esther from her chair;
 |
| "How could you do that?" |
she asks how he could do such a thing, and walks out.
 |
| "Post Concussion Syndrome" |
“I haven’t felt right for weeks,” explains Tyler, “I tried to get my head around it – but I hadn’t been drinking, and was not ill. It’s Post Concussion Syndrome, caused by the boxing. I was OK at first – that’s why I couldn’t make sense of it. I’ve got a referral to a neurologist, and need plenty of sleep, no stress – and no booze!”

| "But are you going to be all right?" |
Iolo asks if he is going to be all right, and he replies, “Yes – well I hope so!” and reminds Iolo, “Remember, we’re not together any more.”

| Iolo looks none too happy |
Iolo looks stunned.
 |
| "It will be better this way!" |
Hywel tries to convince Sheryl, “We were fooling ourselves – it will be better this way!” She demands how it can possibly be better. “The woman on the phone was very understanding, sees it was a mistake and that we’re trying to sort it out,” he adds.

| "What if they send her back?" |
“What if they send her back to Uganda?” pleads Sheryl, “We were supposed to stick together – why do I feel that you betrayed us?”
 |
| "If only I hadn't hit you!" |
Iolo is very apologetic; “I’m sorry – if only I hadn’t hit you . . . I should have realised something was wrong.”
 |
| "It's not your fault" |
Tyler answers that he did not even know what was wrong himself, but Iolo insists that he let Tyler down. “It’s not your fault – I said some terrible things to you, but you still wanted to help me,” Tyler tells him.

| What is that in Bobi's hand? |
DJ is still searching, increasingly frantically, when he notices what Bobi has in his hand;
 |
| "I want you to give me the ring" |
“I want you to give me the ring – it’s not a toy,” he requests, but Bobi is unwilling to hand it over
 |
| He will exchange it for a packet of sweets |
until bribed with some sweets.
 |
| "You're teaching him bad habits" |
Cadno comes in and berates DJ, “He’s not supposed to have sweets before lunch – you’re teaching him bad habits.”
 |
| "I've got concussion" |
In the café, Tyler tells Ffion about the concussion diagnosis, and thanks her for giving him the incentive to visit the doctor.
 |
| "We don't want to lose you!" |
She is delighted; “I’m glad you’re not drinking – and Gaynor will be, too. We don’t want to lose you!”
Tyler believes that he and Iolo can work things out, and after a comment from Ffion about buying a new hat, he extracts from her the statement,

| "He asked you to marry him" |
“After the boxing, he asked you to marry him!”
 |
| "No – I would have remembered something like that!" |
Tyler is sure he would have remembered something like that.
 |
| Eifion hopes for better jokes at the wedding |
When Eifion enters the café, Dai remarks about the smell, and Eifion tells him, “I hope you have better jokes than that at the wedding!”
 |
| "I shall be lucky to get an invitation!" |
Dai replies that he will be lucky to get an invitation, let alone make a speech.
 |
| Diane issues her orders |
He is instructed by Diane, “Go and apologise, and ask to be best man. Try again – you’ve only got one son! Off you go, and don’t come back until you have sorted it out!”

| Sheryl is expecting a visit |
Sheryl anxiously looks out of the salon window, and then the phone rings.
 |
| "Don't answer! It might be them!" |
“Don’t answer! It might be them!” she tells Hywel.
 |
| "You never wanted Esther!" |
“You’ve never wanted Esther – this is your way of getting rid of her!”
 |
| Hywel takes exception to this accusation |
Hywel assures her that she and Esther mean everything to him; “A few hours ago, I would have believed you – you’re supposed to be on my side,” she wails,
 |
| "It's happening again!" |
“I don’t want you anywhere near her! This is your fault! I’m going to lose her – it’s happening again!”
 |
| "What if I've done something stupid?" |
On the number 7 sofa, Tyler admits, “I’m worried – the last fortnight has been fuzzy – what if I’ve done something stupid, and just don’t remember? I didn’t cry after you hit me, did I?”
 |
| "Don't you remember anything?" |
Iolo enquires, “Don’t you remember anything from the night of the boxing – nothing at all?” Tyler has no recollection whatsoever, and Iolo concludes, “Good – you’ve had a knock on the head – it’s better if you block it out. You need to focus on getting better.”
“Let’s focus on you and me,” suggests Tyler, and kisses Iolo,

| "Promise not to hit me again!" |
“Does this mean we’re back together? As long as you promise not to hit me again!”
 |
| "The cows are out on the road!" |
At Penrhewl, DJ triumphantly tells Jim that he has found the ring, but Jim is more concerned about the cows that have escaped and are blocking the road. As DJ starts the tractor, Eifion and Dai arrive,
 |
| "I didn't take your ring!" |
with Dai protesting his innocence of the theft. DJ has no time for this.
 |
| "I need a big, strong boy to help me!" |
Cadno gives Bobi his coat; “Come out with me while Arthur is asleep – I need a big, strong boy to help me!” she says.
Meanwhile Dai refuses to move away from the tractor, as he has been given his instructions by Diane. The tractor begins moving

| Bobi is preoccupied . . . |
as Bobi emerges from the farmhouse, engrossed in his toy tractor.
 |
| . . . as the tractor approaches |
Cadno follows him and sees the machine approaching him, screams, Bobi!” and rushes forward to push him out of its path.
 |
| He is safe, but Cadno . . . |
She, however, falls under the tractor, and Eifion shouts at DJ to stop.
As Jim phones for an ambulance,

| "Cadno – say something – please!" |
DJ helplessly cries, “Cadno – say something – please!”
 |
| She lies, motionless |
as she lies, motionless.
