Dani suggests to Sheryl that they should have lunch and do some shopping in Carmarthen, but Sheryl says that Hywel has arrranged for them to go out.

“I really feel that things are going to work out!” she enthuses.

| "The oven's been fixed" |
As Iolo passes the chippy on the way to his van, Britt jokes, “I’ve got three extra bags of potatoes in for you this week!’” but he replies that the oven has now been fixed, and he is getting Colin to buy some vegetables, as he is tired of eating out of a box.

| "Any news of Dai?" |
Diane comes round the corner and Britt asks if she has heard anything from Dai. “Is one phone call too much for a wife to ask for?” she demands,

| "He could be lying in a hedge!" |
“I don’t know where he is – and he’s gone without his tablets – he could be lying in a hedge!” Britt advises her to call the police.

Dai is in fact at Penrhewl; “Did Dic do that to you?” asks DJ, and Dai replies that he just wanted tell him the truth. “It’s not your place to tell him,” insists DJ,

but Dai says he was the one who lied in Paris. “When are you going to stop interfering?” DJ demands.
Cadno and Eifion decide to leave them to it, and Dai asks if there is any chance of a cup of tea, as he has not had one since the ferry, but receives the answer,

Sioned has decided that she and Ed are going for a picnic on the Gower,

| "He lost it!" |
so Sioned invents a story about him leaving it in the Deri, and that it has gone missing. “He was celebrating and couldn’t look after himself, let alone a cheap piece of plastic!”

Jim protests that it cost him £15, but Sioned sneers, “50p from a car boot, more like!” Ed gets up, declares that he does not want to go out any more, and leaves the room.

In the Deri, Hywel is on his phone; “That sounds great – I look forward to meeting you!”

| "I've booked a place for Esther" |
When Sheryl arrives, he tells her he has had to change his plans, but has arranged something special. He has booked a place in Llamau Llon (which translates as ‘jump cheerfully’), a music course for babies in Llanarthur. “The session is after lunch – it will be a good chance to meet other mothers.”

Sheryl is less than enthusiastic; she says to Esther, “Come on – lets look for a tambourine to hit.”

DJ comes back into the farmhouse and finds Dai still there; “Do you want two black eyes?” he threatens. Dai can understand why DJ is angry, but explains it is not Dic’s fault.

| "He wanted you to have this" |
“He wanted you to have this,” says Dai, producing a rather battered hard hat inscribed ‘DIC JUNIOR’. “He wants you to know his feelings towards you haven’t changed at all – he still thinks the world of you. With time you might realise that you have two fathers, in a way.”

| "I don't want anything to do with you!" |
“So you didn’t go to put things right – you knew that Dic would do something like this, then you could come back as a victim or a hero!” accuses DJ, “You’re trying to find a way to force me to like you – but it won’t work! No matter how many black eyes you get, I don’t want anything to do with you, and the sooner you realise that, the better!”

Dai picks up his bag and leaves.

Cadno and Eifion are at APD, where they inform Diane of Dai’s whereabouts, so she rings the police to apologise, then moans at them for not telling her sooner.

Eifion stresses that at least he is safe and sound; “Until I get my hands on him!” thunders Diane.

| Jim is puzzled over what happened to the trophy |
Jim comes in to report that Ed has lost the boxing trophy; “The last I saw of it was when Ed was waving it above his head after leaving the Deri, showing off!”, recalls Eifion.

Eileen complains to Colin that Sioned and Ed treat her as a skivvy; he asks if he can leave early, inventing a story about helping Eifion to move a cupboard, so she agrees.

Britt is about to close the chippy, and sees DJ outside, clutching his box of chips; “Something wrong with them?” she enquires, but he explains he is not having a great time at the moment.

Colin arrives, pretending that the oven is still out of action;

| "I can make you an omelette" |
Britt tells him that the fryers have been turned off, but she can rustle up an omelette for him; “Come in, while I finish cleaning up.”

In the café, Iolo admires Esther and reveals he would like to have a little girl one day; Sheryl informs him, “Then you’d have the pleasure of going to Llamau Llon!” He remembers that Ffion said it was a good place,

but Sheryl is scathing about Hywel; “It clashes with Esther’s nap time – I don’t know why he booked it at that time – he should know better!”

As Iolo leaves, she glances across the road and sees Hywel and a redhead going into the salon flat – she is devastated.

| "It's only natural that you're tired" |
As they have a meal in the Deri, Eifion tells Cadno that it is only natural that she is tired, with all the recent upheavals. She argues that he is supposed to tell her it will get easier, but he sighs, “I’ve been telling myself that since Angela – but it’s not easy!”

“What we need is a holiday in the sun, and we can take the boys with us,” suggests Cadno, and Eifion offers to pay for it, as they could both do with a break from Cwmderi.

Sheryl pours out her suspicions to Dani; “Why was I stupid enough to think he’d change? I saw him take her into my flat – I couldn’t go over there. Everyone warned me this would happen!”

Dani jumps up and declares that he will not get away with this, and marches off for a showdown.

Colin has had a good meal with Britt, and she says it is the least she could do for her customer of the month. He recalls that his Mam loved pickles with all kinds of eggs, and asks how much profit there is in chips. “Enough to keep me going,” replies Britt, “It suits me, being local and working with people.”

“Have you heard about John Pengroes?” he asks, and obviously Britt has, as she knows he keeps £10,000 under his mattress, and asks if he is single. Colin confirms this, so Britt says she will tell Madge, who has fancied him for ages.

“He’s not my type,” Britt announces, so Colin enquires what is her type. “I prefer a man with a full head of hair and a loud laugh,” she advises him, and he tells her she will have to keep looking. “I don’t need to!” she exclaims,

When Hywel opens the door, she demands, “Have you any idea how upset Sheryl is – about your fancy woman! She saw you, and you shut the curtains – it’s not so Esther can have a nap, as she’s with Sheryl! What’s going on?”

Hywel forcefully answers that if Sheryl wants to know, she should come and find out.

Dai awakens on the sofa at Bryntirion to find water being flicked on his face; “Crikey Moses, woman! Do you have to be so childish?” he exclaims,

“I’ve had a terrible weekend! The ferry was up and down like a bouncy castle, Dic turned into the Incredible Hulk, and now DJ can’t stand being in the same room as me! Things couldn’t be worse!”

“We’ll see about that!” promises Diane, “Move your things into the spare room!” He maintains he is the victim here, what with the black eye, and his brother and son not wanting to know him. “Don’t blame them,” she warns, “And you can add someone else to that list – me!”

and in the bin comes across the two halves of the boxing trophy. Ed tells him that Sioned was covering for him;

“I had drunk too much and tripped on the stairs, sorry, Jim,” is his excuse. Jim considers it is about time he grew a backbone,

and hopes that superglue will mend the trophy.

Colin is about to do the washing-up; Britt reveals that she knows the oven is now working, as Iolo told her. She has to collect the children from school, so Colin leaves.

In the Deri, Dani tells Sheryl she will have to face Hywel at some point.

Eileen comes in with vegetables and mentions the cupboard-moving to Eifion, who knows nothing about it.

Cadno, who is looking at something resembling a 12.9 inch iPad Pro, has found a bargain holiday. “Bulgaria? Beer’s 80p a pint there!” announces Eifion.

DJ comes in, sees them looking all friendly, and gets out his phone; he leaves a message, “Hiya, Bulb – it’s DJ. You must be busy with lambing – any chance of a job? I can be on the first flight out of Heathrow – let me know.”

Sheryl and Dani arrive at the flat, to be told by Hywel, “Becca agreed to take a photo of the three of us – every family has a photo above the fireplace.

Sheryl, you’ll have to start trusting me – we don’t want to give the Adoption Agency a reason to block us.”
Sheryl asks if he has changed his mind; he replies,

“Thanks, Hywel!” she says, and throws her arms around him, “You won’t regret this!”
