| Britt remembers better days |
Britt looks mournfully at a photo of Chester, as Megan says that she thought she was doing the right thing;
![]() |
| "He lost his nerve and ran for his life!" |
“He had agreed to go to the police, but lost his nerve at the last minute, grabbed my bag and ran for his life!”
![]() |
| "How much was in the bag?" |
Colin asks how much was in it, and is told just over £100, which Britt says will not get him very far. Garry insists she should not have interfered, but should have informed him.
![]() |
| "Forced him to tell more lies?" |
“And what would you have done?” Megan demands, “Helped him – or forced him to tell more lies!”
![]() |
| Garry blames Megan |
Garry warns her that if anything happens to Chester, it will be her fault.

| Peace offering from Sam |
Sam brings Anita a bottle of Laphroaig whisky from Scotland, but her response is,
![]() |
| "You'll need a bigger bottle than that!" |
“You’ll need a bigger bottle than that – you promised to tell Dol. It wasn’t my place to tell her!”
![]() |
| "The old Sam Evans charm" |
Sam is confident the old Sam Evans charm will work its magic on Dol; “That’s what got us into this mess!” complains Anita. When he tries to kiss her, she adds, “There’s plenty of time for that after you’ve worked your charm!”

| Sioned wants Eileen and Jim out of the way |
Sioned has been taking her temperature and reports to Eileen, “My body’s very healthy! Perhaps you and Jim would like to go and watch a film tonight!”
![]() |
| "Tuesday night – lager, bath and television, in that order" |
Eileen reminds her how much Jim likes his bath and some television on a Tuesday night, so tonight is not possible. But she does offer to give Sioned some peace and quiet this afternoon, as soon as she has had a slice of Bara Brith. “The body doesn’t care whether the sun or moon is shining,” she says.
![]() |
| "Coffee, ladies!" |
Sam brings coffees to Awyr Iach for the ladies, but Dol ignores him, simply remarking, “Vicky, can you smell something?”
![]() |
| No response from Dol |
Vicky informs Sam that he is really in trouble if Dol will not accept a Mocha Latte
Dol is adamant that he can grovel all he likes, but she is allergic to liars. Sara complains that they are drinking coffee and it is not break time,
![]() |
| "Oh, thank you, Sam!" |
so Sam gives her a cup, to shut her up.
![]() |
| "I'll win her over!" |
Then he advises Anita, “Dolores is not too hard a nut for Sam Evans to crack! I’ll win her over!”
![]() |
| "He knows you're looking for him!" |
Garry has an app which will show Chester’s location if he charges his phone, but Colin replies, “He won’t do that – he knows you’re looking for him!”
![]() |
| "This is a family matter!" |
Garry flies into a rage; “What’s he doing here? This is a family matter! If we wanted a clown, we would have booked one online!”
![]() |
| "I'll stay as long as Britt wants me to" |
Colin maintains that he will be there as long as Britt wants him there, but to keep the peace, she advises him to go.
![]() |
| "Get lost!" |
“If you hadn’t dragged her away, this might not have happened!” shouts Garry, “Get lost!”
![]() |
| "What if he never comes back?" |
Britt acknowledges that she may indeed be the cause; “What if he never comes back?” she sobs.
Sioned has made coffee for Ed, but when he comes in, he tells her he will have it when he gets back from his run.
![]() |
| "Another way of burning off the calories!" |
“Unless we find another way of burning off the calories!” she suggests.
![]() |
| "See you later" |
He asks, drearily, “Is it that time of the month – again? I’ll be back in an hour – see you later.”
![]() |
| Bethania is now a sorry sight |
Megan looks sadly at the boarded-up chapel, and Colin joins her, offering some money to replace what was stolen.
![]() |
| "Put it away, Colin" |
“Thank you, Colin,” she answers, “But put it away. It will teach me not to be so soft next time – and you’d be wise to think again, too. You’re too nice a man to be sucked into the Monk family!”
![]() |
| "I let him move out" |
Britt moans, “The Monks always stick together – but what did I do? I let him move out. I know what a bad influence you are on him – I should have put my foot down and insist he listened to me.
![]() |
| "Scared, worried and in danger" |
“Now he’s on his own somewhere – scared, worried, and in danger – I’m sure he hates me!
![]() |
| "I am a bad influence!" |
Garry concedes that he is in fact responsible, and is a bad influence.
![]() |
| Sam is playing with a sewing machine |
Sam fiddles with a sewing maching at Awyr Iach
![]() |
| "Help! I'm stuck!" |
and deliberately sews his sleeve to a garment, then calls for help.
![]() |
| "You daft bat!" |
“You daft bat!” snarls Dol, “How much do I want to punish you?
![]() |
| "I could stitch your lips together!" |
“I could stitch your lips together – anything for a bit of peace! You’re not my type – I like men tall, dark and mysterious. You’re just like one of those flies that bugs you on holiday!”
![]() |
| "Look what the cat just dragged in!" |
She turns her gaze to Anita; “Look what the cat just dragged in!” Then to Sam she says, “You can tell your bit of skirt she’s still in the doghouse!
![]() |
| "Sling your hook, Anita!" |
“Sling your hook, Anita!”
![]() |
| Some frantic vacuuming |
Sioned is angrily and energetically vacuuming, until Eileen pulls out the plug, telling her not to take it out on the furniture. “Well, he’s not here, is he?” she answers.
![]() |
| "It's a stress, having to perform at the right time!" |
Eileen suspect that Ed may be stressed, having to perform at the right time, and with every month that passes, he feels that he has failed.
![]() |
| "Reason to try harder next time!" |
“Well, he has reason to try harder next time!” Sioned sympathetically remarks, “Most men would be delighted! I’m going to find him – the clock’s ticking!”
![]() |
| "Want another, Mark?" |
Ed is in the Deri, having a drink with Mark, who is about to go home and watch a box set of Zombies taking over; “Just like Llanarthur on a Saturday night!” he comments.
![]() |
| Sioned is worried about his sperm levels |
At this point, Sioned marches in; “So you’re hiding here, are you? You know what alcohol does to sperm levels, don’t you? Come on!”
![]() |
| "Listen to the boss!" |
“Chop, chop, listen to the boss!” laughs Mark,
![]() |
| "I promised to go to Mark's" |
but then Ed announces that has promised to watch a box set with Mark –
![]() |
| That is news to Mark |
one that he has wanted to watch for ages. He tells Sioned he will see her later, dependent on how many episodes they watch,
![]() |
| It does nothing to improve Sioned's mood |
and off they go.
![]() |
| "Garry's never going to like the idea" |
Colin is rather depressed at the bar; “Garry’s never going to like the idea of me with Britt, is he?” he asks Dani, who replies that she sometimes wonders if he likes anyone but himself.
![]() |
| "You stick with it!" |
She advises that all that matters is if Britt likes him; “It must be an experience and a half to be married to a Monk!” says Colin, “It was all so easy in Pembrokeshire – fine weather, nice company – perfect!” Dani thinks he should stick with it, although life is never quiet with the Monks.
![]() |
| "It's not like you – saying you're at fault" |
Britt is surprised to hear Garry saying it is his fault; he replies, “It’s not every day you get a lighter held above your head!
![]() |
| "I saw something in his eyes!" |
“He looked weird, Britt!” She insists that Chester would never have used the lighter, as he worships Garry. Garry admits, “He used to! I saw something in his eyes, something I didn’t recognise – distant, a coldness!”
![]() |
| "You make him sound like a psychopath!" |
Britt is scared that he is making Chester sound like a psychopath.
![]() |
| Now Sam bring her flowers . . . |
Sam presents Anita with flowers; “So a bunch of lilies will make everything right?” she demands, “You tell her now!” With the excuse that he has deliveries to make, he rapidly exits,
![]() |
| . . . which soon end up in the bin |
and Anita rams the flowers into the bin.
![]() |
| "Well, it was his idea" |
She tells Dol that it was his idea to keep their relationship a secret, but Dol is not convinced.
![]() |
| "Dodgy cable on my DVD player" |
Sioned is sitting alone when Ed returns; “I knew you’d come to your senses!” she says, but then notices that Mark is with him. Mark’s DVD player is on the blink, so they are going to watch it there. Sioned storms out, saying that she is going to wash her hair.
![]() |
| Britt looks for clues on CnocCnoc |
Garry and Britt are looking at CnocCnoc, where Brighton has been mentioned by Chester.
![]() |
| "I have to go and search" |
Garry tells Dani that he knows the police are looking, but he has to do so too. In a surprise conciliatory gesture, he asks if Colin could do some shifts in the Deri,
![]() |
| "You can rely on me" |
and he replies, “You can rely on me.”
Sara pronounces that the staff have worked hard today, so they go off for a choccie biccie.
![]() |
| "Sorry, none left!" |
When Anita joins them, the lid is closed; “Sorry, none left!” says Dol.
![]() |
| "You're pathetic!" |
“When are you going to stop this nonsense?” demands Anita, “You’re pathetic!”
![]() |
| "You lovesick teenager!" |
Dol counters with, “I’m not the one running around like a lovesick teenager!”
“Well, you’re flirting with someone else’s boyfriend, because you’re jealous!” answers Anita.
![]() |
| "I'd rather be a little tiny flea . . ." |
Dol is becoming rather wound up; “Me? Jealous of you and your bunch of flowers? You’re the last person I’d be jealous of! In fact, I’d rather be a little tiny flea on a little tiny rat, than be a little tiny bit like you!”
![]() |
| Anita lets fly with the milk |
Anita seizes the nearest weapon at hand, a milk carton, and sprays it at Dol. Hearing the commotion, Sara orders them both out of Awyr Iach.
![]() |
| Just as they are engrossed in the video |
As Ed and Mark watch the video, Sioned stalks back in and turns it off; “Don’t turn it off now – we don’t know if he’s going to die!” pleads Mark.
![]() |
| "He won't be the only one to die!" |
“If you don’t turn it off, he won’t be the only one to die!” roars Sioned, and Mark thinks it wise to leave, muttering that she makes the Zombies seem like Sunday School teachers.
![]() |
| "Don't ever talk to my friends like that again!" |
“Don’t ever talk to my friends like that again!” Ed tells her, but she knows that he has only been using Mark to play his pathetic game against her.
![]() |
| "He'll be talking about us on his round" |
“He’ll be talking about us on his round tomorrow!” she says. Ed suggests she should change the way she treats him; he is not a lapdog she can call when she likes.
![]() |
| "What's wrong with you?" |
She insists, “You and I want a baby, so we have to sleep together! What’s wrong with you? If you were half the man you think you are, you’d want to sleep with me!”
![]() |
| "You're really desperate!" |
He simply responds with, “You’re desperate, absolutely desperate! It really isn’t attractive!”
![]() |
| "Who else would marry a murderer?" |
“Aren’t I pretty enough for you? I could go out and find half a dozen men who’d fancy me – you’re lucky to have me! Who else would marry a murderer?
![]() |
| "You're scum!" |
“You’re scum – the lowest lowlife there is!”
![]() |
| She spits in his face |
and she spits in his face. Then she realises what she has done.
