Debbie is looking at the £3,500 invoice from the solicitor. As Dol complains, “I’ve been up and down that ladder more times than a squirrel up a tree!”

| Liam is back on a flying visit |
Vicky and Liam arrive.

| "Pity you can't spell 'Croeso' though!" |
Liam comments, “Pity you can’t spell ‘Croeso’, though!” and Dol tells Debbie that her years at Welsh school were wasted.

| Mark is dejected until Liam arrives |
Inside the house, they find Mark looking dejected, but he does brighten up when he sees Liam.

| "There's not enought beer to get a rat drunk!" |
Dol protests that there is not enough beer to get a rat drunk, and heads off to get more supplies; Vicky wonders how she will afford more drink.

| Ed catches up on the news |
In the shop, Ed is reading the Western Post; “Are you going to buy that?” demands Colin,

| "Look, Mark's in the paper!" |
then shows Hywel the front page. By this time Ed has seen enough, and leaves, thrusting the paper into Ffion’s hand.

| Ffion is incensed . . . |
She is infuriated to read the article on the right of the front page;

“Ysgol y Mynach Teacher Suspended – and look who’s written it! Kelly!” she snarls, and walks out of the shop, still holding the paper.

| "Hey – you haven't paid for that!" |
Colin shouts after her that she has not paid for it.

| "I thought we were friends!" |
Ffion bangs on Anita’s door, and tells Kelly, “I thought we were friends! These are allegations, nothing else!”

| "It's completely unbiased!" |
Kelly argues that she has stuck to the facts and the article is completely unbiased. “You mention Elliw and the baby,” Ffion continues, “Things you wouldn’t have known if Jinx hadn’t opened his mouth!” Kelly insists she was only trying to show how much Ffion cares about kids.

“A year 7 pupil could do better than this rubbish!” shouts Ffion, as she storms out, followed by Gethin.

Dol arrives at Llwyncelyn to invite Sam to the party;

“Think of it as a thank-you for sorting out the leccy!” Sam enquires if everything is still working, and Dol confirms it is, adding, “Come with me, and grab a couple of bottles of Gaynor’s posh wine, to save me buying some.”

Ffion seaches online for the phone number of the Western Post, but Gethin dissuades her from ringing to complain about Kelly’s article;

“Calm down and think what you are going to tell the editor. You could make things worse.”

| "You still think I'm guilty!" |
“You still think I’m guilty, dont you?” she wails, “You didn’t stand up to Kelly and now this!”

Gethin encourages her to go for a walk to clear her head.

| Hywel joins Anita and Kelly |
Anita and Kelly come out of the house and encounter Hywel, who says he will accompany them to the party;

then Colin, Dol and Sam emerge from the shop.

| "They ought to bring back hanging for the likes of you!" |
When Dol sees Ffion coming, she shouts, “Oi! I’ve seen the story about you! I hope you haven’t been anywhere near our Ricky! They ought to bring back hanging for the likes of you!”

When Ffion protests that she has not done anything wrong, Dol’s slanderous allegations continue,

“All perverts say that! Run, but you can’t hide – we all know where you live!”

| Ffion feels like giving up |
Ffion is visibly shaken as she and Gethin turn and retrace their steps.

| Chester appears upset by this exchange |
Chester has witnessed this outburst and appears upset; he runs back to the flat; Britt sees him from the chippy and follows.
He goes into his bedroom and ponders upon what he has done.

| "It's my fault for not being there for you" |
Britt comes in, blaming herself for not being there for him, as she was busy worrying about her own problems.

She vows that she will not let anything like this happen again.

| "No, I don't like parties either!" |
Ed stands reluctantly outside 39 Maes-y-Deri, Gaynor arrives, admitting that she does not like parties either, and they go in.

Debbie is warning Kelly that if she is there for a story, she can leave straightaway. Then she looks at Hywel and comments, “I don’t remember inviting you!”

Colin sits by Mark; “At least you’ve got an alibi for all these burglaries we’ve been having lately!” Mark replies that he did not get much local news in jail.

Dol brings Gaynor a mug for her wine; “I got some posh stuff in specially for you,” she remarks, “Sorry about all that trouble at your house – I haven’t been myself lately – been so worried about Mark.

“You’re a lady – in spite of what everyone says!”

| "I've got a lot on my mind" |
Vicky remarks on how quiet Ed is, and he says he has a lot on his mind. Mark sits by himself, and looks depressed.

“I told you I didn’t want to go out,” Ffion tells Gethin, “But if it hadn’t been Dol, it would have been someone else.

| "I can forget about being head now" |
“I can forget about being head of the new school now – this is how it’s going to be – everyone pointing the finger and believing that I’m guilty.”
He reminds her that it is a serious allegation, and she angrily replies,

“You still don’t believe me – not really – after saying you’d stick with me through everything!”

| "I know you would never do anything like this!" |
Gethin sits down and assures her, “I know you, and I know without a shadow of doubt you would never do anything like this!

“It makes me angry that there are people out there lying and trying to destroy your life.”

| "I'm going to give that editor a mouthful!" |
Picking up her phone, he says, “I’m going to ring the editor of the Western Post to complain about the story; Go and get Arwen, while I give that rag’s editor a mouthful!”

| Mal and John Post join the celebration |
Mark’s house is full, with Mal, John Post and Gwynfor there;
Debbie announces, “Today is a special day, celebrating Mark being home and that he has got justice at last. I want to thank you all – well, most of you – for your support. Raise your cans – and mugs – to Mark!”
Dol says that speech brought tears to her eyes,

but Colin remarks, “You still thought he was guilty until yesterday!” Mark has had enough by this time, and slips away, unnoticed except by Liam.

Up in Mark’s bedroom, Liam asks what is bothering him. He answers,

| "What if this is only the beginning?" |
“I’m worried about being home. Whoever killed Dewi knows I live here – they’ve been here to hide the phone to incriminate me. What if this is only the beginning? I could be in danger – and the rest of the family. Someone out there wants to make me suffer!”

Chester sits on his bed as Britt announces she is not working tonight,

| "It's difficult at school" |
but will spend some time with him. He tells her that going to school is difficult, with children and teachers giving him a hard time.

| "Maybe I went back too early" |
“But don’t tell Mrs Llywelyn – it will only make things worse. Maybe I went back to school too soon.”
His plan works, with Britt agreeing that he should stay home tomorrow, and see how he feels on Thursday. When she leaves, he looks quite pleased with himself.

Liam tells Mark, “If you suspect anything, phone the police and then phone me!”

| "So this is where you're hiding" |
Debbie comes to find out where they are, and Liam says must be back at the barracks by ten, so has to go;

he hugs Mark.

| "What happened to your fare yesterday?" |
Dol asks Ed, “What happened to your fare yesterday? One minute you were waiting and the next you did an impression of that Hamilton bloke!” Ed replies that they phoned to cancel the journey.

| "A beautiful woman like Anita!" |
Sam tells Colin, “I don’t know why you’re wasting your time with Kelly, when there’s a beautiful woman like Anita around!” Dol comes over and drags him away, telling him to stop flirting.

| Ed tries to sound sincere |
Ed approaches Mark and tells him, “I’m so glad you’re out! It must be awful, being wrongfully jailed.” Mark just does not want to talk about it.

| Debbie cannot get a loan to cover the solicitor's bill |
Debbie has had a word with Liam, but he is unable to lend them money to pay the solicitor’s bill, and she tells Dol and Vicky that she has not yet paid this month’s mortgage payment.

| "Are we getting a speech, Mark?" |
Hywel asks if Mark is going to make a speech.
This is the final straw, and Mark tells Debbie he wants everyone to leave now; “You know I didn’t want this!” Then he turns to address the assembled drinkers.

“You want to know what it feels like? How does it feel to know the killer is free out there, and someone is trying to set me up? None of you visited me inside – you have no idea how lonely it is in there. But here you are, in my home, eating my food, drinking my drink,

“and I can’t be sure it wasn’t one of you who set me up in the first place!”
There is silence, as Ed looks guilty, and finally Anita suggests, “We’d better go.”

Mark tells them, “Yes, go – all of you! I don’t want you here! I’ve spent enough time on my own lately – I’m sure I can cope!”
As everyone files out of the house, he tells Dol, “I don’t think we should celebrate until whoever killed Dewi and framed me is caught!”
