In the café, Hywel tells Anita he regrets opening his mouth at the funeral; “I lost my temper, and it’s inexcusable!” Debbie brings over his coffee, and hopes that they will both be at the auction. “I admire you,” he says, doing all this and trying to get Mark out of prison.” Anita wonders if is a good idea for him to be back among a crowd at the auction.

“You have to come – it would look odd if you don’t,” Sioned tells her mother, “You have to accept the situation – help when you can, cry when you can’t!”

| "Not going? Why?" |
Jim has finished work early and is amazed to hear that Eileen is not going. “She won’t accept that Angela is ill,” says Sioned, and Eileen goes out for a walk.

“Have you noticed that her behaviour has been strange lately?” Sioned asks, but Jim just puts it down to worry; “Since the village found out, she spends a lot of time alone and avoids talking about it. I don’t know what I can do,” she tells him.

Tyler comes back to number 7 after school, hoping to ‘chill’ before his shift at the Deri, but Iolo objects to any music.

When Eileen visits Angela, she is asked, “Have you come to apologise for yesterday?”

Eileen replies that she has changed her mind and will be at the auction tonight, and there she will tell everyone the truth.

“Weren’t you listening last night, when I warned you what would happen if you spoil it?” Angela demands.

Eileen emphasises that she does not want to be a part of her daughter’s dirty little secret; “I’m putting Jim and Sioned through hell – and that’s not fair!”

“Are they more important than me?” asks Angela, self-confidently, “Anyway, no-one will believe you – they all believe I have an aneurysm!”

At Penrhewl, Cadno is upset that she has automatically laid three places at the table;

DJ proposes getting Diane to babysit, so they can go out, as she never leaves the farm these days and needs cheering up.

As Garry and Dani are away in Swansea and Britt is looking after Chester, Tyler appears to be in sole charge of the Deri, but insists that he can run the bar. Debbie considers it inappropriate that the landlord and landlady should be absent for such an important occasion.

The various villagers come in, first Jason and Sara;

when Sara sees the Awyr Iach tent, she is infuriated, but Jason points out that people were laughing at the cheap pair of gloves she donated.

Sioned confides to Angela that she is worried about Mam; “I don’t think she is coping well, and I’m afraid she will do something she regrets!”

Eileen returns to the flat, after a long walk and reports to Jim that everything is clearer now. He tells her, “Sioned is concerned about you – and so am I. She thinks you’re not coping with the illness.

“I want to support you – and Courtney! I’m thinking how she must feel, knowing her mother’s so ill.”
Eileen replies confidently, “Courtney will be fine, I’ll make sure of that – by playing my part tonight,

More people arrive at the Deri; Cadno is not keen on being there, and Iolo moans that he is only there because Colin is at home.

Hywel and Anita arrive, and Hywel orders a bottle of white wine. As Jim and Eileen come in, and Debbie wants to make a start on the auction,

Tyler catches Sioned sneaking upstairs.

She explains that he needs some help behind the bar, but she does not want her expensive coat going missing, so was taking it somewhere safe.

Before Debbie starts, Hywel apologises for his outburst at the funeral, explaining that it was not easy, coming so soon after he buried Meilyr.

Debbie announces, “Remember that we’re all here to raise money for a very special cause – Angela Probert!” Eifion loudly points out that she means ‘Rowlands’. “Well, whatever her name is, she needs our help, so spend like there’s no tomorrow! The first lot is a tent and camping equipment for four, donated by Awyr Iach. Who will give me £50?”

Sioned tells her mother that she is going home, as she has a headache; Eileen urges her to stay, but she will not. Jason finally wins the weekend with a £350 bid,

Jason and Sara leave the auction early, with Sara complaining that he has spent all their money. “I want to escape for more than a weekend,” and he agrees that they have to find the right place to live, then suggests a curry.

When the auction is over, Angela effusively addresses the bidders; “Thank you all for being so generous – this money will really help, not just to pay for the treatment I need in America, but also support me over the next few weeks.”

“There’s one person I have to thank in particular – a special woman – and I could not have coped without her help.”
Debbie looks very pleased with herself, but is rather deflated when Angela says, with crocodile tears in her eyes, “Mam! Thank you for being there for me, and thanks for sharing the pain!”

I’d like to say a word too,” begins Eileen, but she is interrupted by Hywel, who tells how he has been thinking what to do with Meilyr’s fund.

As people leave, Cadno acerbically comments, “Trying to buy forgiveness? I won’t forget what you did at Auntie Marian’s funeral!” Anita is of the opinion that someone needs to calm down.

“So you decided to keep your mouth shut in the end, then?” Angela smugly remarks. Eileen replies that she had no choice after Hywel’s speech,

“And his father wants to give it to me!” grins Angela. Eileen simply wants to go home.

Back in the salon flat, Hywel hopes that he has done the right thing, and Anita tells him to ignore what Cadno said. “That money was there to give people a life – an opportunity that Meilyr will never have!” Hywel explains, “He’s on my mind every minute of the day.”

Anita agrees, saying that she still thinks about what Eira and Dwayne would have done each day. “You just need time, and I’m more than willing to listen.”
