Debbie with the auction money
Debbie looks at the proceeds of the auction,
She looks at the loans website . . .
then at the website of cashlend.co.uk on the laptop,
. . . and adds the stolen money to the box
and finally adds the stolen money to the auction box.
"We're moving house"
In the café, Jason announces to Angela and Eifion that they are moving house;  “We’re just renting, but it’s handy for here and the Deri – it’s Gwyneth’s house.”
"It's only temporary, of course!"
Sara makes it clear that this is only temporary, then insists that Jason goes back to Awyr Iach
Debbie brings over the auction money . . .
Debbie comes over with the box containing the auction money, advising Angela that there is over £2,500, and hopes that it will help.
. . . for which Angela is grateful
Angela hugs her.   Meanwhile, Garry, sitting nearby, receives a text from Dani;
Dani reminds Garry
“Have you spoken to Chester?”
"Why did you have to spill the beans?"
When they get back to Awyr Iach, Sara is angry;  “I can’t believe you spilled the beans to them!   Did you see the way she turned her nose up at Gwyneth’s house?
"There's nothing wrong with her tongue!"
She may be ill, but there’s nothing wrong with her tongue!   Right – it’s time you talked to your mother!”   She dials the number, then hands the phone to Jason, urging him,
"Here's the phone – be a man for once!"
“Be a man for once!”
"Everyone's been so generous!"
Angela cannot believe how generous everyone has been;  “There’s nothing to stop you going to America for the treatment now,” says Eifion, “I know it’s difficult, but now we have the money, I thought you’d be glad to be able to move on.”   Angela however replies that she is reluctant to go.
"I don't want Courtney to lose her mother!"
“I’m scared the treatment will be too much for me!   I don’t want Courtney to lose her mother at such a young age – anything could happen when I’m under the knife!”
"I don't want to lose you, Ange!"
Eifion anxiously reminds her, “What if you don’t have it?   Courtney could still lose her mother!   I want the best for you, Ange – I don’t want to lose you!”
"It's obvious – she's pregnant!"
Having been summoned to the café, Diane is sure she knows what it is about;  “It’s obvious she’s pregnant! All this whispering going on, going to work without breakfast and Jason fussing over her.”
When Jason and Sara come in and announce they have some news,
"When's it due, then?"
Diane immediately asks, “When is it due?”
"No – we're moving out!"
Sara irritably answers that she is not pregnant, and tells them they are moving out.   Diane’s reaction when she hears that it is into Gwyneth’s house is,
Diane seems unsure of the cleanliness of the house
“It’s a nice house, but I wouldn’t let a dog live there until it’s been scrubbed from top to bottom!”
"Why aren't you at school?"
Garry catches Chester walking down the street, and enquires why he is not at school again, to which Chester replies, “It’s difficult.”
"We are going to have a chat!"
Garry cannot understand why, if he has done nothing wrong, and demands a word with him.
"Angela won't have the treatment!"
Eifion goes to see Eileen in the shop;  “Angela won’t have the treatment, although the auction raised so much.
"Try and persuade her!"
I don’t want to lose her, and thought you might be able to persuade her to chance her mind,” he pleads, but Eileen doubts if she can make any difference.
"Oh yes – pull the other one!"
“She listens to you,” maintains Eifion, but Eileen finds this rather ironic.
"Oh, I'm fine!"
Up in the chippy flat, Garry asks how Chester is, and is told that he is fine.
"Tell me exactly what happened with Ffion"
“Of course you’re not fine!” replies Garry, “You can be honest with me – it might do you good to talk about it.   Tell me exactly what happened with Ffion.”
"I went through this with the police"
Chester says that he has been all through it with the police, and does not want to do so again.
"I know that's not true!"
Garry’s tone changes as he states, “I know that was not true!   Dani heard you talking to your friends yesterday;  you told them that it went a lot further with Ffion than you told us.   You were laughing and enjoying the attention.”
Chester asks if Garry did not try to impress his friends,
"Did Ffion abuse you?   Yes or no?"
but Garry demands, “Did Ffion abuse you?   Yes or no?   Answer me!”   Receiving no reply, again Garry shouts, “Answer me!”   Chester almost imperceptibly shakes his head.
"You're a pathetic little boy"
Garry tells him, “You’re a pathetic little boy who sulked because Miss didn’t give you attention!
"Trying it on with a woman twice his age!"
Diddums – poor little Chester was angry after trying it on with a woman twice his age and being rejected!   You should have apologised and took it on the chin – not taken revenge by telling lies!”
Chester’s excuse is that it was just a bit of a joke.
"No-one jokes about abuse!"
Garry explodes, “No-one jokes about abuse!   No-one should tell lies about something like this!
You have dropped yourself right into it, mate
Have you got any idea what you’ve done?”
"I can't face work today!"
Angela returns home to find Eifion still there;  “I phoned in sick – I can’t face work today.   I can’t believe you won’t have the treatment!   I’m scared of what will happen if you don’t go.   It’s your decision, but one I have to live with.
"Sometimes I feel like screaming!"
Do you have any idea how difficult it is to be supportive of you all day, every day?   Sometimes I feel like screaming, or sitting in the corner, crying – but I can’t do that, because I don’t want you to see how worried I am.   If I’m not strong, what’s going to happen to everyone else?
"You're like me – inside you're falling apart!"
Courtney’s only a child, and although you pretend you’re strong, you’re like me – inside you’re falling apart!   Without the treatment, I don’t know how to carry on!”
Dai wields his feather duster
Dai and Diane are hard at work at Gwyneth’s, cleaning up the place, as Jason and Sara bring in their belongings.
"This place will be spotless"
“This place will be spotless when I’ve finished,” Diane tells them.   As she gives Jason the spare key to Bryntirion, she says,
"You'll only be just down the road"
“I knew you wouldn’t be staying with us for ever, and you’ll only be just down the road.”
Eileen calls Angela over to see her;
"I hope you're going to give it to a charity
“I hear you’ve taken the money from the auction.   I hope you going to give it to a charity – and soon!
"I was tempted to tell Eifion"
Eifion came over earlier – he couldn’t understand why you won’t go for treatment.   I was tempted to tell him, but it’s not my place.   He’s scared of losing you.”
"What have I done, Mam?"
Angela is very subdued;  “I’m afraid of losing him too!   What have I done, Mam?”
Garry deliberates over his next move . . .
Garry is considering what to do;  he picks up his phone,
. . . and decides not to inform Gaynor
almost rings Gaynor, then throws it down on the sofa.
"This was supposed to be a little white lie"
Angela continues, “If only I could start all over again – this was supposed to be a little white lie – a way of getting a bit more attention.”   Eileen confirms that she has certainly achieved that.
"I know he'll throw me out!"
“I know that the best way would be to tell him everything, but I know what will happen – he’ll throw me out!   He won’t forgive me for hiding the truth from him for months!
"I'd never forgive him if he did this to me!"
I’d never forgive him if he did this to me!”
"What are you going to do?   More lies?"
Eileen demands, “Then what are you going to do?   More lies?   Make it even worse?   You’ll never be able to escape from this – it will always be there, poisoning your relationship, but you can put an end to this nightmare by telling the truth.   Whatever happens, you can’t feel worse that you do now!”   Angela agrees that is the only choice she has, and leaves.
After a few more calculations . . .
Debbie anxiously taps the keys of the calculator, looks at the laptop screen and dials the number;
. . . Debbie phones for a loan
in English she says, “Hello, I’d like to talk about a loan.”
The peace and quiet of their own home . . .
Jason and Sara recline on the sofa;  “Can you hear that?” asks Jason, “Silence!”   Sara admits that he was right about this place, and they would have been foolish to reject it.   “Now we have to think of something to do,” suggests Jason, but suddenly their reverie is interrupted as the front door opens.
. . . is shattered by the arrival of a casserole
Dai and Diane come in;  “I’ve brought a casserole to welcome you to your new home,” Diane announces, and Dai has some cans.   As he sits down, Sara asks where Diane got the front door key;  “I had a copy made while you were moving in,” she replies,
"I can call in and tidy up while you're not at home"
“So I can call in and tidy up when you’re not at home.”
"Where have you been?"
When Angela returns home, Eifion and Courtney are very concerned, wondering where she had been;  “I went for a walk to clear my head – I needed some peace and quiet, and a chance to think,” she replies.
“I hope you decided to have the treatment – Eifion told me you were not willing to go,” Courtney tells her,
"All I want is for you to get better!"
“All I want is for you to get better – stop worrying about me, and put yourself first!”   She hugs her mother.
Is Angela actually going to reveal the truth?
Telling them to sit down, Angela says, “I’ve been lying to you . . .
No!   That would be too much to ask!
I didn’t go for a walk, I went to the hospital to see Dr Atkinson.   He’s organised the treatment, and I’ll be flying to America in a few weeks!”
Joyful reaction from Eifion . . .
Eifion and
. . . and from Courtney
Courtney are immensely relieved.
