Siôn has found some old games
Siôn has sorted out a box full of children’s games for Megan’s shop, something he has meant to do for ages.   “So I’m good for something,” says Gwyneth,
"Sara urgently wants to see me"
then has a message from Sara, who wants to see her.
A mystery package for Mark . . .
Mark is puzzled when he receives, in the post, two tickets for Center Parcs,
. . . with a note inside
and a note which reads, “A little something for you and Ricky.   I believe you and I’ll make sure that everyone else knows the truth.”
At her house, Gwyneth feels the wall and maintains that it is not damp.
Sara's hair has suddenly gone straight!
Sara’s evaluation is that, “It’s soaking!” and when Gwyneth tells her it was damp-proofed a couple of years ago, she demands, “You should claim on the warranty!”
"Why not wear a vest?"
Gwyneth irritably replies, “As your landlady, can I suggest you wear a jumper, or a vest?”   Sara is of the opinion that a wetsuit might be more appropriate.   “You’re more sensitive than previous tenants,” Gwyneth tells her.
"Go to work – you're late!"
Sara’s riposte is, “As your employer, can I suggest you go to work – you’re late!”
Megan has an opinion on everything
In the shop Megan says she is sorry to hear that Eileen and Jim have separated, but Eileen stresses that it is only a temporary ‘blip’.   Megan muses, “Of course, he is Angela’s ex-husband – what a strange world!”
"We live in a terrible age"
As Ed comes in and looks at the Western Post, Megan turns her comments to Mark;  “It’s going to take him some time to get used to life outside prison – we live in a terrible age, where an innocent man gets sent to prison!”
"Religious leaders committing adultery"
Then Gwyneth enters the shop, so Megan seamlessly moves on to say, “And when our religious leaders can commit adultery and see nothing wrong with it . . .”
She is interrupted by Gwyneth, who maintains that it is difficult when people have two different sets of rules,
"Mind your own business, Megan!"
and Ed pipes up with, “Mind your own business, Megan!   Everyone would appreciate that!” and walks out without buying the paper.
"Marian was a looker in her young days"
Cadno and DJ are looking through a box of old photos;  “Marian was a looker in her young days,” DJ comments,
"If I had been her age, I would have . . ."
“Bob was a lucky man – if I had been her age, I would have . . .”   Cadno urges him to stop, but he insists it was a compliment.
“It’s sad when someone goes and leaves all this behind,” he remarks, “But when I go, they can throw all my stuff in the bin.”
"Ooh, a secret compartment!"
Cadno finds a false bottom in a box, and under it is an unopened airmail letter, addressed to Marian.   It was sent three years ago from J Hobbs in Cusco, Peru.
"Should we open it?"
Cadno wonders if they should open it, but DJ replies, “Marian obviously didn’t want to.”
Just when Sara hoped for some peace . . .
Diane calls on Sara, who is trying to work from home;
. . . French Onion Soup arrives
“I’ve brought Jason’s favourite, French Onion Soup,” she says, putting down the tureen.
"Something is not right!"
Sara moans, “This place is driving me mad – it’s damp, and there’s no room to turn round!   I was happy in Australia, but something was not right, and now there’s something not right here either.   What if I can’t settle?   What if I’m never happy anywhere?”
"This room desperately needs a coat of paint"
Diane suggests that she could just start by sorting out one thing;  “This room desperately needs a coat of paint – and Jim could do with an easy job to lift his spirits.”
"These tickets arrived out of the blue"
In the Deri, Ed sees Mark, who is still wondering who sent him the tickets for Center Parcs;  he shows the note to Ed, who concludes that someone felt guilty for not believing him before.
"I know!   Stacey!"
Suddenly it dawns upon Mark;  “Stacey!   She’s not been in touch since this started.   She’s got enough money to help uncover the truth!”
Ed is feeling rather uneasy, when Dai and Diane arrive;
"This is what ex-cons do when they're released!"
Dai loudly comments, “So this is what ex-cons do when they’re released.   You should be in prison eating porridge, not here drinking beer!”
Diane tries to shut him up,
Mark is going home
while Mark tells Ed, “I think I prefer to drink at home.”
Anita lends a hand at Maenan
Anita is helping out in Megan’s shop when Siôn appears with his box of games, but he has a hostile reception.
"I don't think it's the right thing to do"
“I can’t take them – I don’t think it’s the right thing to do.   Does Britt know you’re giving away the children’s things?”
"They belonged to the boys"
Siôn points out that they belonged to his boys;  Megan is unrelenting, and continues, “I heard that Gwyneth is throwing out Britt’s things.   It makes it easier for you to get rid of bad memories.
Her diatribe angers him
You’ve got your duties to consider, and Gwyneth is living with a married man – the sooner you realise that, the better!”   Siôn picks up his box and leaves.
"You should apologise to Mark"
Diane berates Dai for his rudeness to Mark, but he replies that he was only joking.   Diane points out that there was no evidence against him, and that Dai should apologise.
"Find out why Jim and Eileen have separated"
Then she instructs him to take Jim for a drink, and see if he can find out why he and Eileen have separated.
Jim expounds his theory
He has a theory;  “Sioned is getting married at Penrhewl, and Eileen is giving her it free of charge, but Jim wants her to pay – and I don’t blame him – it would cost a fortune at a hotel!”   Diane just tells him to buy Jim a few drinks and find out.
"I'm not free tonight – or any other night!"
Angela joins Ed at the bar and asks if he is free tonight.   He is quite forceful;  “No – nor any other night!”   She informs him that she is not going to wait for ever, and is not scared of the truth.
Eileen looks at the letter
Eileen goes to Penrhewl and is told about the mystery letter.
"If she wanted us to know, she would have told us"
DJ’s argument is, “If Marian had wanted us to know who this J Hobbs was, she would have told us.   Just because someone’s dead doesn’t mean they don’t deserve privacy.”
"Let's try and find out who J Hobbs is"
Cadno considers they should try and find out who J Hobbs is.
Sara is evidently getting on his nerves
At Awyr Iach Jason is getting rather tired of Sara going on about the damp;  “She’d find fault if we lived in a five-star hotel!” he rages to Gwyneth.
"What colopur do you want your kitchen?"
Jim walks in and demands what colour paint Gwyneth wants for her kitchen.
When Jason hears that Diane told him to find out, he promises to have a word.
"She has no right to change anything!"
“Tell your wife she has no right to change anything – especially without asking first!” is Gwyneth’s instruction.
"Two coffees and two doughnuts, please"
Siôn is sitting in the café when Anita and Megan come in;  after reading one of the leaflets on the counter,
"What on earth is this?"
Megan demands, “What on earth is this?”
"The Alternative Easter Service"
Siôn points out that it is the Alternative Easter Service, and hopes that they can work together for the good of the chapel.
"I'll make sure no-one else is there!"
Megan pronounces, “I won’t be there, and neither will anyone else – I’ll make sure of that!”
Siôn is stunned
Siôn is shocked, and sinks back down into his chair.
"White units and country green walls"
As Sara dishes out the French Onion Soup, she tells Jason that the units will be white and the walls, country green – it is nothing to do with Gwyneth.
"She is the owner of the house"
Jason points out that she is the owner of the house, but Sara insists that she is improving it.
Jason asks, “Who will pay for this painting?” and as Sara replies that Gwyneth will,
Gwyneth arrives through the back door
she arrives through the back door;  she informs them that they can paint the kitchen,
"APD sends the bill to you, not me!"
as long as APD send the bill to them.
“I’m not paying to improve your house!” snarls Sara, so Gwyneth tells her to forget it.
"I don't want to live here any more!"
Then Sara complains to Jason, “I don’t want to live here any more!   We must find somewhere else, or I’m moving back to Australia!”
"No, this place is not ideal . . ."
Jason admits that the house is not ideal, and assures her that he will find a more suitable home;
". . . but I'll find you the ideal one!"
“With a big garden, lots of land, big kitchen, double garage!”
"State, why aren't you answering my calls?"
Mark leaves a phone message;  “Stace, why aren’t you answering my calls?   Why haven’t you been in touch for months?   I don’t know what your game is, but money won’t make me forgive you.   You’ve let me down, Stace!”
Jim knows exactly what Dai is up to
In the Deri, Dai buys Jim a pint, in what he describes as a ‘team-bonding exercise’.   Jim knows what is going on;  “Diane sent you to get me drunk and find out why I left Eileen.”   Dai admits that he is spot-on.
"Over a little family squabble"
Then Eileen enters the pub, and Dai addresses her;  “It’s hard to believe that you two have argued and he had to pack his bags over a little family squabble.”
"Has Marian ever mentioned J Hobbs?"
Eileen sits opposite Jim and asks if he has ever heard Marian mention a J Hobbs,
"Never heard of him"
telling him about the unopened letter from Peru, and how she intends to open it.   He is not interested
Jim rejoins Dai at the bar
and gets up to rejoin Dai,
Eileen talks to the inebriated Ed
while Eileen approaches Ed, who is still by the bar, drinking steadily.
Yes, he looks as if he is celebrating his forthcoming wedding
Ed does not know where Sioned is, but boozily tells Eileen, “I’m celebrating marrying Sioned – I love her – and I’m a good person too.   Don’t believe whatever Angela says!”   Eileen is puzzled and leaves.
"I see the games didn't go to Maenan"
Gwyneth returns to Y Felin, remarking, “If I could push one person off a cliff, it would be Sara!   I see the games didn’t go to Maenan.”
"Megan wouldn't take them"
Siôn tells her that Megan would not take them, and refused to attend the Monday service.
"I don't know how much more of this I can take!"
“Are the two of us doing the right thing?” he asks, “Is this strain worth it?   I don’t know how much more I can take!”
"Siôn White is not someone who gives up!"
She tries to encourage him by emphasising they have been through too much to give up now, and says that Siôn White is not someone who gives up.
Angela is (understandably) on her own
Eileen goes to see Angela, who tells her that Courtney is hiding at Elliw’s house and Eifion is probably emptying the barrels at the Bull.
"Ed was saying some strange things"
Eileen says that she has just seen Ed, who was drunk and saying the strangest things.   “Has he said anything to you about getting cold feet?”
Angela answers that he has not been himself lately, but urges Eileen not to say anything to Sioned;
"I'm sure Ed will do the right thing in the end"
“I’m sure Ed will do the right thing in the end!”
