| Sioned has something to say . . . |
When Ed comes in, wearing his usual dejected expression, Sioned has obviously been planning something; she asks him if he knows what day it is, and he predictably replies, “Monday – why?”

“It’s February 29th, Leap Year,” she says, and getting down on one knee, continues, “Will you marry me?” He looks blank, and considers that now is not the right time.

| Sioned anticipates a nice little inheritance . . . |
“There’s no point in waiting, is there?” Sioned asks, “Auntie Marian will have left me some money, so we can have a really nice wedding, and find a place to live. We need something nice to look forward to, and forget the past.”

| . . . but is upset when Ed gets up to go |
Ed gets up, says, “I can’t, sorry!” and leaves the flat.

| "Like what? I'm a plumber!" |
In the café, Debbie will not give Iolo his sandwich until he donates something for the auction; “Like what? I’m a plumber,” he answers, and Debbie suggests a day or free plumbing; they settle on half a day, and he leaves with his sandwich.

| "The auction will go ahead – but next week" |
Angela thinks this is taking the ‘hard sell’ a bit too far, but is told that the auction has not been cancelled, only postponed until next week. “I think it has better not go ahead,” Angela tells Debbie, “Sell the things online – I don’t want any fuss.”

| Anita looks concerned . . . |
Anita listens as Debbie emphasises all the work she has put in, and bewails the fact that Mark is refusing any visitors at the prison.

She offers to look after the café while Debbie has a break.

| "Would you like me to cook you a meal?" |
In the shop, Colin asks Kelly if she would like him to cook her a meal, but she insists that they have to be seen together in public, so he agrees to the Deri.

“If I wanted to eat at home, I’d get Auntie Anita to cook something,” she says, rather ungratefully.

| "I thought you were a cocktail waiter!" |
“Are you a teacher?” enquires Kelly, “I thought you were a cocktail waiter!” Colin says that she is a reporter, so Tyler assures her if he hears any scandal at school, he will let her know.

| Ed resorts to the weights again |
Sioned finds Ed, weightlifting in the Deri Deithio office again; “If you don’t want to marry me, be man enough to say so, and not run away!” she exclaims,

| "You don't love me any more, do you?" |
“I’d like an explanation – you don’t love me any more, do you? Has anything happened? You’ve been behaving strangely for weeks – and running away when I propose to you! Am I that terrible?”

| "I've got a lot on my mind" |
He tells her he has a lot on his mind, but she will not be put off; “If you only talked to me – please, Ed, you’re starting to scare me!

| "Well, I'm not moving until you tell me!" |
“I’m not moving until you tell me what’s going on!” He replies that this is not a game, and he will tell her back at the flat.

| "Gwen has taken over now" |
When Gwen takes over at the café, Anita goes upstairs to find Debbie lying on the sofa.

| "Mark doesn't want to see me" |
“Mark doesn’t want to see me – he says it upsets him too much,” Debbie tells her, “I don’t know how he is, and it worries me. There’s all his paperwork and all this stuff for the auction!

| "I'm spending more time helping Angela!" |
“I’m spending more time helping Angela than Mark, but he should come first.”
Anita diagnoses that she has taken on too much, and it is a shame there is no-one else to organise this auction.

| "People don't appreciate you" |
“People round here don’t appreciate you – you’ve got a heart of gold, and I’m going to take you out.”

| Ed makes his excuses . . . |
Ed begins, “Since we lost the Deri, I’ve been a waiter, taxi driver and escort chaperone – and I’ve failed to keep a roof over our heads. You deserve a big wedding and nice things, but I can’t give you those. That’s why I’m so glum lately.”

| . . . but Sioned finds them far from convincing |
Sioned is sceptical about this; “You expect me to believe that? You don’t care about me!

| "Stop lying, and tell the truth!" |
“When I went for the aneurysm tests, where were you? When I found out I had a heart condition, where were you? Stop lying, and tell me the truth!”
Looking earnest, Ed asks,

| "You'll hate me!" |
“Do you really want to know? If I tell you, it will change everything – for ever – you’ll hate me! But know what? It will be a relief to tell someone at last!”
She tells him she will forgive him for anything, but he says ominously, “You will never forgive me for this!” Sioned is frightened, and runs away.

At number 7, as Iolo is about to reprimand Tyler for his unsavoury habits, Kelly comes in, on the pretext of meeting Colin.

| "I'll wait for Colin here" |
Tyler points out that they were to meet at the Deri, but she decides to sit by him to wait for Colin to return.
“Don’t you have any marking to do? What are you doing tonight?” she asks him.

| "Ooh – quiz show questions!" |
“Ooh - quiz show questions!” says Tyler, “Well, Kelly, I like cooking and reading, but most of all, sleeping!”

| Colin is not happy . . . |
When Colin comes in, he is rather put out to find her there. Kelly insists that it is no big deal, and invites Tyler to accompany them to the Deri.

“On our date?” Colin demands, but she is busy enquiring of Tyler what exactly Design Technology is, if it is not woodwork.

| "You ought to show a bit of appreciation" |
Anita goes to see Angela, and suggests that she ought to show a bit of appreciation for all the work Debbie has done for her. Although Angela does not want the auction to go ahead, she concedes that it probably will.

“Debbie feels as if she is neglecting Mark and feels guilty. She has a lot on her mind as well,” Anita tells her, “I’m taking her out to the Deri, and wondered if you’d call in on the offchance.”

Angela has to agree.
Sioned apologises to Ed for not listening, but thought she would not be able to handle what he was going to say.

| "Did you sleep with Angela?" |
“Is it to do with Vicky? Did you sleep with her?” Ed assures her that he did not, nor with anyone else. “It’s the only explanation why you’re behaving like this!” she says.

| "I killed Dewi!" |
He professes that he loves her, then makes the momentous admission, “I killed Dewi!”

| Sioned is thunderstruck |
Sioned is dumbfounded, as he insists, “He was a dangerous bloke – I went over there to tell him to leave you alone, and it all went wrong!” Sioned points out that he threatened Vicky as well – is he sure he did not go because of her?

| "I got as far as the police station door" |
“The only thing on my mind was you! I should have gone to the police – in fact I did get as far as the door last week, but your phone call stopped me, when you said Auntie Marian had died!”

| "If I hadn't tried to blackmail Dewi" |
“So you’ve killed a man?” Sioned demands, “What am I supposed to do with that information? If I hadn’t tried to blackmail Dewi, you wouldn’t have gone there. We’ll have to go to the police – I can’t live with this!”
Ed stresses that it was an accident; “He attacked me, I pushed him and he fell, hitting his head – it was an accident!”

Sioned tells him that is not what the police are saying, and she does not know what to think. She hurries out of the flat.

| Debbie and Anita tuck into the tea and cakes |
In the Deri, Anita and Debbie are enjoying tea and cakes when Angela joins them and tells Debbie she deserves a treat for all that she has done. “You’re a good friend, Debs,” she says.

Sioned arrives at the bar and orders a glass of wine, but Ed has followed her in and tries to drag her back to the flat.

| "Leave her alone, Ed!" |
Angela intervenes, insisting that he leave Sioned alone, and the two sisters go to Angela’s house.

| "What is going on?" |
Once there, Angela asks what is going on, while Ed bangs repeatedly on the door. Rejecting Angela’s offer to call the police, Sioned tells her to let him in.

| "Come home, Sioned!" |
He immediately demands, “Come home, Sioned! We need to talk!” Sioned insists that she is not going with him, and Angela agrees that she can stay there tonight.
This is not acceptable to Ed, who tells Angela,

| "This is nothing to do with you!" |
“Keep out of this – it’s nothing to do with you!” When she attempts to phone the police, he grabs the phone from her hand.

Sioned coolly instructs him, “Ed is leaving now!” and he does, somewhat reluctantly.

| "You shouldn't be flirting with her!" |
In the Deri, Iolo warns Tyler that Kelly is Colin’s girlfriend, and that he should not be flirting with her, accusing him of only caring about himself. “All right, Dad!” Tyler replies.

| "I get free food and drink, Colin gets a girlfriend" |
Kelly tells Anita she likes this girlfriend pretence, as she gets free food and drink out of it.

| "At least finish with Colin first!" |
Anita advises, “If you fancy Tyler, at least finish with Colin first!”

Ed rings Sioned and leaves a message,

| "Don't go to the police!" |
“Don’t go to the police until we get a chance to talk – please!”
