18 March 2016 (2nd)

"I'm coming to America with you!"
Eifion and Courtney arrive at home.   Courtney says, much more happily;  “Now there’s no need to worry any more!” and Eifion reveals he has been given time off work to go with Angela to America.
"No, you can't do that!"
“You can’t do that!” she tells him, “Mam’s decided to come with me, and I can’t dissuade her.”   However, when Eifion is intent on going over to tell Eileen he is the one who should be going, she says she will go instead.
"What was that all about?"
As she rushes off , Eifion and Courtney look at each other.
Debbie is on the phone;  she is informed that the loan should be in her account,
Debbie is spending a lot in APD
checks on the laptop, and sure enough, it is.
"You and I have to go away for a few weeks"
Angela tells her mother, “I need a favour – you and I have to go away for a few weeks.   I tried to tell Eifion the truth, but I don’t want to lose him and Courtney.”
"Go and tell them the truth!"
Eileen orders her to go home and tell them immediately.
"That will be difficult"
“That will be difficult,” she replies, “I told them that Dr Atkinson has booked me in for treatment, and that you insisted on coming with me.”
"And still the lies keep coming!"
Eileen remarks that still the lies keep coming.   “Angela continues, “This is the ideal solution – I disappear and then come back, recovered!   We can go wherever you choose.
"We can get to know each other"
We’ll have time together to make up for lost time, and can get to know each other as mother and daughter – you know we’ve got the money!”
Eileen is disgusted that she would use Marian’s money and the proceeds of the auction, but Angela justifies this;
"It was a gift to help me!"
“It was a gift to help me – and this is going to help!”   Her mother is lost for words.
"A happy face – just what I need!"
Tyler comes in from school, and sees Iolo’s expression;  “Oh, a happy face – just what I need!” he says, “Thanks to Ffion and Chester, work is a nightmare!   I’ve got to go to Llangrannog with year 8 next week, and now I have to listen to you whingeing!”
"Isn't it hard work, being angry all the time?"
Iolo suggests he goes out and stays out all weekend;  Unfortunately, no money,” answers Tyler, adding, “Isn’t it hard work, being angry all the time?”
"He's moved Gwyneth in with him"
“You’d be angry if your father made a fool of himself – he’s moved Gwyneth in with him, and I’m worried that he’s done it to spite Britt.”   Tyler remarks that life would be easier without parents, prompting Iolo to complain, “You wouldn’t say that if you’d lost your mother as a child!   You should think before you open your mouth!”
"Let your Dad do what he wants"
Tyler advises, “Let your Dad do what he wants and accept it’s not your problem – look after number one, rather than worry about others.”
"We can come home with a clean slate!"
Angela is becoming rather heated;  “Can’t you see?   All we have to do is disappear for a while, then come home and start with a clean slate!”
"Not a clean slate – just a lot more lies!"
Eileen points out that it will not be a clean slate, but all lies again.   “Just one white lie, and that will be the end of it,” Angela insists.
Eileen makes it clear, “No, it will be the beginning of it!   You’ll have to spend your whole life keeping a secret from everyone you love.”
"You want me to suffer, don't you?"
Angela turns nasty, her voice growing in volume;  “You want me to suffer, don’t you?   I have the ideal solution, but you throw it back in my face!
"Think I'll leave you out of the story?"
If you really want me to be honest, do you really think I’ll leave you out of the story?
"You're as guilty as me!"
Then everyone will know how you kept this quiet.   You’re as guilty of keeping secrets as me!”
"What secrets?"
They do not hear Jim coming up the stairs, and he demands, “What secrets?”   Angela tries to bluff that she has found out she is not as ill as the doctors thought,
"She's not ill at all!"
but Eileen spells it out that she is not ill at all.   Undeterred, Angela repeats that it looks as if they have made a mistake.
"She's been lying to everyone from the start!"
Eileen states, “Stop!   It’s one lie after another!   She’s not ill – never has been – she’s been lying to everyone from the start!   Game over!   Stop pretending!”
"So it was all a con?"
Jim is amazed that this was all a con, but Angela is quick to accuse Eileen;  “I wasn’t the only one lying!   Mam has known more or less from the start.”   Eileen assures Jim that it has only been a few weeks, but he demands why she did not tell him about it.
"It's time that Eifion and Courtney knew!"
He turns and walks out, on his way to tell Eifion and Courtney, with Angela in hot pursuit, trying to stop him.
"Eifion!   Open the door!"
He bangs repeatedly on the door until Eifion opens it, then they all troop inside, as Jim says, “They have a right to know!   Now, which of you is going to confess?”
"Going to confess what?"
As Courtney wonders what is going on,
"Angela is not ill!"
Eileen tells them, “Angela is not ill – she conned us – and I knew.”
"So there's nothing wrong with you at all?"
Courtney is so relieved;  “So there’s nothing wrong with you at all?” she says, hugging her mother, but then continues,
"I don't think I will ever be able to forgive you!"
“But I don’t forgive you – I don’t think I will ever be able to!   All I’ve done for months is worry about you, thinking how I was going to live without a mother!   How could you do this to me – to all of us?”   She runs upstairs.
"She needs her father now!"
Angela is about to follow, but Jim prevents her;  “She needs her father now!” he growls.
"How could Mam do this?"
In Courtney’s bedroom, between sobs, she asks how her mother could do this to her.   Jim is unable to answer this, but assures her,
"I promise I'll never lie to you!"
“I’ll always be here for you, and I promise I’ll never lie to you!”
"Don't just sit there – say something!"
Downstairs, Angela pleads that Eifion shout, cry or scream, but he remains silent.   “Say that you’re angry, that you understand!” she entreats.
"I would never tell anyone that I was dying!"
“Understand?” replies Eifion, incredulously, “I’ve lied about my health a few times, but I’d never tell anyone I was dying, and deceive the whole family!”
"Easy to say after being caught!"
When Eileen apologises to him for her part in this, he replies, “It’s easy to say after being caught!”   When she maintains that Angela left her no choice, he remarks to Angela, “Look, your accomplice is turning on you already!”
"You've ruined our daughter's life!"
Jim comes downstairs;  “You’ve ruined our daughter’s life!” he tells Angela.   When she protests that she never wanted it to go so far, he adds, “That’s always been your problem – you can’t stop yourself.   You just let it spiral out of control.”   As he leaves, he commiserates with Eifion,
Jim wishes him good luck
“Good luck to you, mate!” and Eileen follows him.
"This place is a pigsty!"
Tyler asks Iolo if he wants a pint, as it is Friday night.   “Are you serious?”    is the reply, “This place is a pigsty and it’s not my mess!”   Tyler comments that it is no wonder he is single, being as touchy as this.
"Letting others clean up after you!"
Iolo rants, “I can’t bring anyone home, with the house looking like this!   It’s typical of you, running off and letting others clean up after you!   You don’t care about anyone – no wonder you lost touch with Dani!   Off you go for your pint!”
"I'll get Garry to evict you!"
As Iolo says that he is thinking about getting Garry to kick him out, Tyler suddenly grabs him and kisses him.
Courtney rips the photo to shreds
Still on her bed, Courtney finds a photo of herself and Angela, tearing it up into pieces, then lies down and cries.
Tyler admits he is gay
“I’ve met boys like you before – straight boys, but they want a bit of fun!” says Iolo.   Tyler admits that he is also gay,
"Fancy me, then?"
and Iolo asks, “Fancy me, then?”
"You can be really annoying"
Tyler suggests that he can be really annoying, and that may be why he does fancy Iolo.
"I'll go and sleep on someone's sofa"
Angela advises Eifion that she will ring a couple of friends to find someone with a spare sofa and will be gone by tomorrow.
"Why did you lie to me?"
He demands why she lied to him and to the whole village.
"I wanted attention"
She explains, “I wanted attention – when I started fainting, everything was different – I could see how worried you were, and how you wanted to look after me.   I loved the fact that that I meant so much to you.   I may be crazy,
"We'd never been so happy!"
but we’d never been so happy – and we wouldn’t have got married if it were not for the illness.”
"That's the problem – there was no illness!"
Eifion answers, “That is the problem – there was no illness!”   Then she insists that all she wants is for everything to get back to normal, confident that with a bit of forgiveness, they will be OK.
He does not look as if things are going to be 'OK'
His expression suggests that will not be the case.
Jim is moving out
Jim has packed a bag, but Eileen pleads that they should talk.
"You're the one who kept quiet for weeks"
“You’re the one who decided to keep your mouth shut for weeks!” he says.   She insists that Angela was pulling the strings, threatening, bribing and branding her as mentally ill.
"I've been through hell"
“I’ve been though hell – do you think I wanted to be dragged into this mess?” Eileen demands, “Do you think I enjoyed keeping her secret?   She frightened me, Jim!”
"You're not the woman I married!"
Jim is unmoved;  “For weeks I’ve been asking what was going on, and you decided to keep the secret from me!   You’re not the woman I married!   I’m not staying here with a woman I don’t know – who can’t trust her husband!”
Eileen is distraught
He walks out.
Fighting back the tears, Jim leaves
As he tearfully goes along the street, Debbie calls after him, asking what is going on;
"You'll find out soon enough!"
“You’ll find out soon enough!” he angrily replies and continues on his way.   Eileen watches from the window, then in a fit of rage sweeps everything from the worktop on to the floor.
Eileen does not know what she will do
She sinks to her knees and sobs inconsolably.
